Hello everyone! Here's details on how to handle the remaining three weeks of game: IC post-game details )

What does this mean for you?
  • Starting tomorrow, you can post journal entries/comments, IC/OOCs, letters, etc. like normal. It's summer vacation! PLOT HERE about your characters' activities for the past two weeks.

  • Although graduates can't post on the journals, they are allowed to show up in any summer IC/OOCs or to send mail to current characters.

  • Your mods are off-duty except for two posts we'll do sometime soon: the "Where Are They Now?" meme (for discussion of your characters' futures) and the 10 Year Reunion IC/OOC. All former students of Gooseberry will be invited to the reunion, regardless of when they attended.

  • Tue, Jul 31 will be the last day of the game. You will still be able to backtag for as long as you want, but no new posts will be allowed in either the IC or OOC comms as of Aug 1. Everything will stand as a record of the incredible love and work we've all put into this game for the past two years.

Hi everyone! We've talked with our NPC mods, and we've decided to extend endgame through to Wednesday, with the finale probably going on Wednesday night or Thursday. We're likely going to be decreasing the number of sacrifice rounds so that people can traverse the map more quickly. We may end the sacrifice rounds entirely during the extension, so if you definitely want to get another shot at one, make sure you get to a sacrifice round by Sunday night.

But this is the point where we need to go into overdrive making sure everyone gets the experience they wanted. Fill out the form below, which will let us know the major story beats you want your characters to hit before we wrap everything up.

Character Name:
Death: Does this character need to die? How soon, and in what way?
Bare minimum: Please list 3 or fewer things you absolutely want to happen to your character before endgame ends. These can be rescuing a certain person, getting to kill a mimic, making a specific sacrifice, etc.
Other plans: List things you'd LIKE to happen to your character, but would be okay if there wasn't time for it, or if it didn't end up happening. This can include items like facing their own mimic or running into Grimshaw. (Note: I'm not taking requests for these random events, but if I know you're interested I'll keep my eyes on your group.)

PLEASE CLICK TO READ:
Y2 END GAME OVERVIEW

This document is pretty long, but given that we're hoping Y2 endgame will be much more player-driven, we need everyone to understand what your characters will be in for. So please read it over carefully!

Within the next week, one or two students will come across a disturbing/gross discovery. This will be a potentially traumatic event that will be solidly in the horror genre, so keep that in mind. We can't give you any more details at the moment! You have until Sunday, June 17, 11:59 PM MT.

TWO DAYS UNTIL PROM!
  • Remember to sign up for prom, for both the game and for the overnight stay! I'm being soft and assuming people who haven't been around and whose friends mention rooming/playing with them want to be there, but we'd feel so much better if you checked in. ♥

  • NOTE: If you don't find a roommate for your character(s), we'll randomize someone for them. Finding someone to pair with for the prom game is also not necessary; it's only if you definitely wanted your character to be on the same team as someone else. Every character will be randomized into a team.

  • Please finish voting and finalize your choices by the end of the day tomorrow (MT)!

  • You may opt out of voting in a category! However, if you put a first choice vote in any category, please also pick a second choice, for fairness. Thank you!

  • All tags for the final Prom Heist need to be in by midnight tomorrow (ET) in order to be counted!

Thanks everyone~ Feel free to use this post for plotting, as per usual. c:

We've received a looooot of questions about this, so we wanted to write up some general guidelines we could direct everyone to. It's just taken awhile, since we've been busy! (So busy.) This ended up a bit long, but please read it over carefully, especially if you play an Artificing kid who's been trying to find a way to counter the mimic problem.

I'd put a spoiler tag on this but you guys will read it anyway. )

Please note: each player is limited to one plot for the first 2 hours. (See HERE for what time that would be for you.) After that, the only limit is one plot per character. If a slot is not taken on the day of the event, you may ask to take it with your character, regardless of whether or not they already have a slot.

BIG SPECIAL THANKS TO JENNY for writing a bunch of cute events while we were totally burnt out ♥♥♥

MAY PLOT CALENDAR )

On May 1, we decided that North American wizards widely celebrate May Day. It's a fairly major holiday, and students get the day off from classes. Part of this celebration involves crowning the May Queen, who was voted on by all the girls in school last year. We didn't get a conclusive winner and we've had a lot of cast changes, so we've decided to hold a re-vote.
  • Each female or nonbinary character gets one (1) vote for another non-male student to be the May Queen.

  • You have until Sunday, April 29th, 11:59 PM to vote, after which we'll tally it up and tell the winner.

  • Pretend the winner has known they were May Queen all year, and that these votes were cast last May.

  • The May Queen gets to ride in on a horse (or Bluebell if applicable), wears a flower crown and all white, and sits on a throne of flowers. They're supposed to symbolically welcome in the spring and say goodbye to winter.

  • In the event of a tie, we'll use RNG as a tiebreaker.

  • CLARIFICATION: We're not going to split hairs if your girl wasn't here last year, or if the girl they're voting for wasn't here. THIS ISN'T A MAJOR PLOT EVENT IT'S JUST LETTING ONE GIRL FEEL PRINCESSY FOR A MINOR IC/OOC.

  • Adeline Foster-Hayes was May Queen last year, and therefore cannot be the May Queen again. Sorry Addy!

Hello, Class of 2015! This Friday, the senior class will be taking part in a Newlywed-Game-style bonding activity with the other members of their house, as the Heads of House determine once and for all who has the best kids in school. The prize at stake is 50 house points for the winners.

In preparation for it, we ask that every senior student complete a short questionnaire... )

Hi everyone! We've decided to do a quick mini petition event for Student Authority only! We'll select the winner tonight (4/11) at 11:59 PM MT, and let you know in the morning. The winner of this petition will be the prefect who finds the person that broke into London's locker!

THIS IS GOING TO BE A SPOOPY EVENT. If you don't want your character to experience something unsettling, don't sign up!
Name:
Are they Student Authority?: Prefects or HB/HG are the only characters that qualify.
How invested are they in finding the culprit?: Does London deserve justice? Are they just doing the bare minimum?
Would this serve their character development in some way?: Does your prefect need a victory, or more involvement in the metaplot? How would they handle a potentially scary experience?
Would they investigate alone?: You know where this is going.
Anything else?:
