Is your character attending prom? This is the last week to confirm with staff. Characters attending prom must fill out a form by Thu, May 24 at 11:59 PM MT in order for there to be enough food and rooms. What this means is please fill out this form if your character is going to prom. (You may sneak in last-minute if you forget, but we'll need time to organize players for the prom game, so next Thursday is the deadline for that!)

As with last year, you can expect:

A fun and fancy theme! This year's prom will be set in a swanky casino (actually a hotel outfitted to look like a under-18-safe casino). Expect one part Ocean's Eleven, one part James Bond, one part 1920's glamour!

The announcement of prom royalty! The deadline for prom court voting is also next Thursday. You can edit your ballots to your heart's content for the next week, but we'll stop tallying ballots on Friday, so get them in!

NOTE: Characters are allowed to abstain from voting in any category, however if you do put a first choice vote in a category, please also add a second choice vote, for fairness. Thank you!

Free food and accommodations! The party lasts late into the night, with hotel accommodations provided for all promgoers. Rooms will fit two people comfortably, or three if you want to squeeze. Those who don't wish to stay overnight will have the option of getting Floo'd back to school at the end of the night; otherwise everyone leaves in the morning.

Entertainment! Thank you in advance to everyone who's volunteered to run casino games during prom, and to Manx for arranging that! ♥ Please let us know by next weekend what exactly we need to do to help you run that.

THE PROM GAME!!! If you weren't here for last year's prom, the prom game requires promgoers to work together (or against each other) to win. This year's scenario involves three rival casinos who've each hired a team of thieves to take their competitors down. Players will be assigned to randomized teams, and must suss out who they can trust, con each other, and make deals to get codes to unlock the vaults.

All students are invited to play, however, OOC, each player is limited to three characters participating in the prom game. You may say that in-universe, all of your characters were playing, but the sake of organization, we need to limit the number of characters per player.

IC, the prom game lasts only during prom. OOC, it will last from Saturday morning to Monday night (or until two out of three casinos have been robbed, whichever comes first). Characters must be active during this time in order to help their team win. Inactive participants will make the game harder to play for everyone. More characters will not increase your chances of winning nearly as much as participation. If you're not sure how active you can be that weekend, then you should sign up fewer characters.

There are six factions: three casinos, and three groups of thieves. Characters will be randomly assigned to a team; however you have the option of being allied to one other character of your choice. Pairings must be mutual, e.g. if Seth asks to be allied with Zion, Zion must ask to be allied with Seth in order for the request to be fulfilled. (Note that "allied" means that either you will be on the same team or part of the same casino–thieves pair who are working together.)

Unlike last year, seniors, juniors and sophomores will all be playing the same game.

Like last year, the prizes for the prom game will play a small(!) role in endgame.
