Griffin is from a tiny magic-y village in Lancaster County, PA. That's Amish country. That is pretty much the extent of his exposure to muggle shit. His family has been farming squonks for GENERATIONS. They have a lot of trouble keeping the farm family owned and operated because Squonk Farming sucks. So they rely pretty heavily on GUILT to keep the chain of inheritance alive. Griffin's dad is a SECRET AGENT for the MACUSA. Basically like the wizard equivalent of a green beret/navy SEAL? And he's stationed in Korea and everyone thinks he's just a dead beat dad, so Griffin doesn't talk about him much because most people assume he's lying. Griffin is a mathboy because I keep doing this to myself?? He likes physics and geometry especially and is into the concept of Sacred Geometry. He's in DIVINATION but it's because he likes that they occasionally go over stars. He's respectful when he's in class but he doesn't necessarily believe in it. He doesn't have a "specialization" yet but I kind of want to do something absurd wit the Spin the Bottle bottle. His DREAM is to become an astronaut. Griffin's dad bought him a telescope when he was younger, and he's obsessed with space. He's not so much a WOO ALIENS kid, although that's certainly there, too. He's more into the SCIENCE of it. He's a sweet boy, but he's emotionally immature and SUPER naive and sheltered and copes by being a Typical Azurcrest and just making exponentially worse decisions as time goes on. Jesse McBride was PROBABLY his idol. I basically wanted to make a character that embodies Yikes and here I am. He's AMAZINGLY lazy and will put more work into "being lazy" than he would if he actually did something right the first time. He doesn't seem to realize he's doing this.

Archie is in his year, and is another soft-spoken boy who's desperately ill equipped to deal with normal high school life. Archie's secretive buuuut he's pretty social and maybe they could be friends and never face their problems and be confused by technology together.
Kenzie is one of his senior prefects, and she's not really great at momming anyone, but if she knows one of her wee ones likes to go hard at parties she'll keep an eye on him.
Spencer is a trashy party boy and will be garbage with Griffin at the Grotto.
Reid and Calvin are on rival teams, but I don't think they'll cross paths much outside of that SADLY but they're both jerks and Griffin doesn't need them in his life!!!!

I love this. Archie and Griffin should totally be hopelessly sheltered friends who don't understand very simple muggle concepts. Griffin wishes you luck in your romantic endeavors, Archie. You'll find Mr/s. Right, eventually.

CORRIGAN shares some classes, gaming, and most importantly: Q.U.I.D.D.I.T.C.H. as a sophomore, corrigan loves him. and... um, if you're game, i think it could be fun to keep her small and pointless "we both like quidditch he's SUPER COOL" crush. this is not me fishing for ships, i just like the thought of her latching onto THEY COULD BE A *POWER COUPLE* LIKE *CLEM AND SY* idea. she'd float him as a possible date to every dance before getting distracted by somebody else. tell tuesday what their kids' names are going to be, and then wonder aloud how she can convince Cool And Lightly Daring Junior Todd Skynner to accompany her to the next party. but good news, she's flighty and bored easily. but if you're not game this is A-OK :3

Tuesday is obviiii a sophquidditch member as well! They're in several classes and OE! She will peer pressure him into talking to Corrigan if this crush persists, and I'm sorry, she is not entirely mature. Otherwise she will like him as long as he subscribes to the Sophomore Revolution.
Every time I talk about sophomores I make myself scared.
Addy and Jade are somehow both in Azurcrest, would both like this poor child. But Addy will legitimately mom him and nudge him gently toward homework and listen to how cool space is, because she thinks so too, and give him potions at his grotto parties. And Jade will just encourage bad ideas she finds amusing. There is nothing new here.
Annnd Ferdie is terrified of the Sophomores but will police him gently. Ira UNDERSTANDS the value and joy in working hard at being lazy but will prooobably not run into him too much.

I LOVE Tuesday. And Griffin is like "wow okay yes sure if you think so my friends" to the overall impending sophomore apocalypse so Count Him In!!
Addy is SUCH A GOOD MOM ;_; Griffin waits with bated breath for guidance from both Addy and Jade. And even if the advice is 100% at odds, he will try to find a way to follow both while also expending the least amount of energy possible. It might just involve getting super drunk in the grotto and being completely inert though.

Concordia shares Charms, Potions, and Transfiguration with him but no clubs sad day. HOWEVER she is like WOO! with his decision to be in a less wizard-infested profession, since she wants to be a chef and that's not a Typical Wizard Job. The YIKES thing doesn't bother her and she'll cheer him on to stop being lazy? Like a personal motivator! She also would not be easily bothered by him not knowing stuff because that makes her ~feel so smart and cool~ and secretly she likes feeling better than other people shh don't tell. She won't say that because her facade is SO NICE but she might like him a lot more than is completely necessary because he's so sheltered. ALSO she wants to Help Him Be Social! Slowly! But you know, she's like, everyone's personal cheerleader she can be yours too Griffin <3
Isabelle is in Equestrian with him. She'll probably find him really sweet and be nice to him. She's also into Astronomy so even though they don't share the class they can totally talk about that!
Samantha is ALSO an Azurbest! She's in Gaming too! So they have some interaction and she might eye roll at him but Solo and Last Year's Events have made her much less of you-know-what even though she still KIND of is. She'll pick on him a little but then SHUT DOWN anyone else who might.
Avery is in OE, gaming, and is a keeper! So they have a lot in common and even though she's a senior and in a diff house they can totally be friends and she will talk OE, gaming, and keeper stuff with him!
Oscar is in gaming and Azurcrest as well! That's about it, but he's an awkward duck and totally yikes too so he will Feel for Griffin and TRY TO BE A GOOD OLDER AZURCREST PAL!

Obvs the most relevant of mine is JAIME his CAPTAIN!!!!! (Plus they're in Equestrian club together). Jaime will love him because he loves people who are nice and excited about things but he will definitely encourage him to not be lazy, most especially about Quidditch but also some about school because he's trying to be a role model or something this year, and also doesn't want him to fail out. He won't understand his math. Is Griffin ready for CUTE PRACTICES??!
All my others are near irrelevant, unfortunately. Hazel is in OE with him, probably thinks he's weird but endearing, but also... whatever, small child. Ramon literally does not care about his existence beyond the fact that he's cute. They technically have a MACUSA link but since Griffin's is secret agent-y then that is not a thing. Phi literally does not care.
Rupert is at least in his grade and also in Div with him! He thinks Quidditch is boring and is very whatever about space because it's not acting so??? He'll probably just tell him what to do in any class overlap they have (Charms, Hermeticism, Potions, Transfig, Div)

i don't think marie Gets him, but she probably likes him and she definitely thinks he's cute. :* they're in div together!!! gosh this sophomore class can really See the Universe. zach is a prefect in griffin's house, albeit a year up, and if he is a micah duckling, then he probably sees zach around! he will do his best to make sure this sweet baby boy doesn't puke on himself at the grotto.
idt he'd see cash that much andddd OH ulysses is a fellow quidditch player so they might have a passing familiarity? honestly ulysses probably doesn't know any of the quidditch sophomores yet but as ebonhide & azurcrest's first game approaches, he'll probably keep his eyes peeled for Rival Talent, lmfao.
