CHARACTER INTRODUCTIONS & PLOTTING

Hello everyone, and welcome (back) to Gooseberry! We still have a couple weeks until the actual game opens, but we anticipate a lot of new characters joining us.

RULES

So the OOC comm isn't flooded with dozens of new introduction posts, please introduce your new characters here!

Remember to put your character's name in the subject line!

You can say as much or as little as you like. Consider hitting the basics like, house, classes, clubs and year, then describe their personality and interests briefly. Mention what kinds of storylines you want (friends, enemies, etc.) and get to plotting!

Then go around and reply to other peoples' introductions, establishing lines and relationships.

If you have some plot you'd like to talk to people about that involves a returning character, comment here explaining what you're planning!

Be courteous and limit yourself to only one medium/small gif or image! We don't have cuts here, so be kind to your friends who might be on mobile.

But on the real, I think Iggy and Carolina will get along really well? So, not just roomies but maybe ~friends~??

Carolina gets along with mostly everyone, so I am saying friends? She's also a dainty girl from the south (but like Virginia), so they can bond over that too?

Ana loves quidditch people. LET HER LOVE YOU, PEYTON.

Yeah I think they would too!!! Spencer thinks the Smooch Patrol is ~cool~, but either way I think Spencer will appreciate the company of some people who aren't so easily overwhelmed.

And yessss I agree. He thinks Fern's cool and does like her attitude. I imagine sometimes she can get him to puff up and get defensive, but it's totally toothless and he calms down quick. FRIENDS???

Yes I do too. And it's like... boys, boys. Please. You're both insufferably pretentious.

Yeah, Spencer's the kind of guy you need breaks from. But he'll keep hammering away at Austin for attention and... I'm sorry about that.

Heyyyy, Peyton!

So I have Calvin, who's not dainty or sweet at all, but will have to serve as the bruiser of the Ribbonfin team. He's usually abrasive and standoffish, but he really will try to be gentler with his teammates. He'll be especially protective of the babysoph Chasers.

And then Archie's in her year, and he's a little weirdo. Peyton probably mostly knows him as a friend of Tally's!

I LOVE HIS FACE. Ahem.

Carolina is a soph? She is super sweet, so I dunno if she falls into dumb or better than him category? But whatever, she'll be nice to you Hero! She doesn't know about your back stabbing ways (coming from a professional sidekick, this is really bad behavior young man tho!) But regardless, she will be herself and sweet and really really shy unless she's singing lol

Ana probably doesn't know him or talk to him much. Is he sad about this? HE SHOULD FEEL LUCKY

As a baby bear, Vee will try and protect and mother him. No, she's not a prefect, but whatever.

Milo isn't an Ebonhide but he is a prefect? I dunno if that helps but I'm open to whatever!

BAND MATE! FRIEND!(?) Yes. Carolina adores Marie and relies on her to tell her fun things to do. This little fishy is so good at following questionable decisions. And she loves you Marie.

Ana thinks she's a hoot and a half and would definitely get along SUPER WELL with her.

Vee and Milo are like, not important here. But they'll be nice!

YAY ANTIGONE

Archie's in her year and he's friends with Tally, so Antigone will know him that way. He's soft and a little quiet, but still pretty social so maybe they've got to talking?

Kenzie is a jazz singer, so she's probably a fan of Iggy's grandmother! Plus, baby sister Tally's her roommate.

She'll know Calvin because he's a year above her and the duelling vice pres. He's... the same old unpleasant Calvin.

Hey guys! Katie (again) with a last minute addition: Grace Sowerberry! Her full profile is here, but here's a quick intro!

Concept: Operatic hopeful searching for her voice everywhere but on the stage.
Classes: Charms, Potions, Transfiguration, History of Magic, DADA, Magical Rudiments, Wizard Literature, Astronomy, Music
Clubs: Choir, Drama, Cheer, LARP

Grace is a Muggleborn witch from Montréal but she's the second magically gifted kid in her family! Her older brother (Peter) is a twenty-three-year-old wandmaker and she loves him to pieces. There were three siblings between her and Peter that have no magical ability and one of them is sort of ~~sour~~ bitter about it. Whoops?

She's responsible, grounded, ambitious, determined...and hopelessly shy. At parties she's a total wallflower. In groups or with strangers, she's quiet and awkward and spends more time smiling at the floor and playing with her hair than talking. Please don't look at her. She's also non-confrontational and indecisive and will do all sorts of things to avoid a tense situation or making a decision.

She's (yet another) singer with aspirations of being an opera singer! She fell in love with opera as a child and wanted to be a singer before she even knew she was a witch; it's her passion. She's a coloratura soprano and loves hitting high notes (this is what I think of when I think of her voice). She's not shy at all when she sings. She isn't part of Tally's band, though; that's just not her jam.

Grace feels great about being picked to be the prefect! She'll try to do a good job and older prefects can expect her to look to them to know what to do and to come to them for advice frequently. Unfortunately, she's a pushover and that will make her job harder. That said, those that manage to strong arm her or convince her to let them off with a warning run the risk of her tattling to an older prefect afterward. She doesn't make the rules, guys!

In addition to music, Grace is passionate about history (as well as historical drama and fantasy) and traveling. The world is so amazing, guys~

Grace is on a MISSION to overcome her shyness this year!! To this end, she's joined Cheer and LARP. She...will struggle for a while. She's been in the Drama Club since last year and is notorious for singing like a pro and then mumbling through her lines. It's pretty embarrassing.

She wants to look SOPHISTICATED and always wears red lipstick because she thinks it makes her look SOPHISTICATED.

SEEKING: A few friends (she's pretty shy, after all)! Prefect mentors! Club mentors! Crushes! Whatever!

...putting all these singers in Ribbonfin was an accident and I'm sorry. :o

So Carolina is also a music person. Her band sings poppy stuff, though, so I dunno how his hipster vibe feels about it. Regardless, she'll think he's awesome and will play with him or sing with him whenever. She also can help him with lyrics if he wants! She's also ~technically~ a southerner, although since Richmond, VA is like 2 hours from me I don't consider myself a southerner so I dunno. Regardless! She will like him.

Vee adores all Ebonhide. #sorrynotsorry. She will encourage Austin and his music!

Milo and Ana are like O_O So. I'm down to randomly throw them together sometime!

Kenzie-Addy/Tally-Carolina roommate sisters! Kenzie considers her to be "off limits" from all her aggressive teasing. She'll... still tease her a little.

Archie's in her year and he's Marie and Tally's friend, they like to talk about ~romance~. So he might pop up sometimes and know Carolina that way. He's also soft and quiet... but it's a little misleading, since he's also famously the kid that drugged all the upperclassmen.

Spencer's surprisingly bookish, buuuut otherwise they don't have a lot of overlap.

And Reid and Calvin don't matter so much! Calvin's a year above her, but he's a cranky child and probably is a bad mix with a sweet shy girl.

ROOMIE! Omigosh, this baby fish girls dorm is THE BEST.

I think Grace and Carolina could be friends, actually? They are both on the quieter and shy side and they both want to change that. PLUS they sing. So yes. I say it could definitely be a thing???

Archie's in her year and friends with Tally, but I don't know if Grace will want a lot to do with this terrible boy. That said, he's soft spoken and seems sweet enough, so he'll happily chit chat about not creepy things with her.

Reid and Kenzie are senior prefects, so they'll be warm(ish) to Grace. Kenzie especially, since she's the prefect for her little sister, and they're also vocalists.

And Spencer lives in Montreal! He's BIG AND SOCIAL and maybe after getting to know her via drama last year he was like LET'S HANG OUT OVER THE SUMMER!!!! ALL THESE SHY KIDS BETTER BRACE THEMSELVES!!!!

Calvin's a year above her and you know what he's like. They're in choir together. He won't be mean but he's so bad at being friendly.

Oh man. She thinks Kenzie is awesome. So glamorous and cool and she really loves her. Plus any friend of Addy's is one she wants to impress/be liked by, so she will take the teasing as ~affection heheh

That sounds good to me! Carolina doesn't really let rumors or others' opinions influence her, so she'll be nice to Archie (even if she disapproves of drugging lol)

Books are definitely a bonding point, still!

OMG I JUST STARTED WATCHING THIS SHOW. I love her face. And she's amazing. AHHH.

Ahem. Carolina is in her year but...that's about where it ends? Aggressively nice can kind of conflict with...softly nice. But Carolina will be her usual nice self, I just don't think they'll cross paths a lot (let's make them cross paths)

Vee is SO EXCITED to have more squad members. She loves Pear's enthusiasm and spunk. SHE WILL DOTE ON HER SO MUCH.

Ana is just like O_O As is Milo. (He feels like her exaggerated expressions means it's a good thing he can't hear??? lol)

AHHHHH. Like I said on Pear's, I love their faces AND them! They're gonna be so fun.

Carolina is in the same year as London, and she's in Boating with her (as well as classes too). She might find her a little overwhelming, but she's also in a band with Tally and Marie so. She probably will just find her fun. Please don't take her picture, she requests (I request London DO IT) Maybe light friends???

Vee thinks she's as awesome as Pear is, and since Pear is her baby cheerleader AND London cheers, she will adopt London too. They're in EC together, and Vee will dote on her and loves her talkativeness and enthusiasm. (I also give total permission for her to photo Vee lol)

Ana can't even. Please follow her with your camera London and talk at her and make her O_O

Milo will be Milo, but, he's glad he can't hear her too lol

So Carolina probably won't overlap much outside classes and being the same year. BUT. She is always nice, so.

Ana is like "Copperbaby lady! Spanish! Cheers for me on the pitch!" And so will love her. Maybe they can bond into friendship????

Vee loves all cheerleaders, as we know. They also both reek of school spirit and like to bake. Plus Cori is a fan of studying???? HELLO POTENTIAL ADOPTED BABY

Milo will be friendly! They both cheer, at least. :D

Corgi (apparently this is a nickname we are rolling with) also prob thinks Addy is like, super awesome with being into potions and all so she might latch on to like... soak up some vicarious potion-genius.

Kenzie is - there are probably some stars in her eyes. Like, this is what you're supposed to be. She's glamorous and gorgeous and yes. Nice. Wow.

Calvin is a delight, I have no idea what you're talking about.

Iggy will be more than happy to stand behind her and cross her arms and attempt to look vaguely menacing if people try to get things over on Grace while she's prefecting.

I am amazed that this level of hivemind happened?? But clearly they were CULTIVATED. For good harmonics.

MCGONAGALL (Ahem, thank goodness my kids don't have the previous misconceptions I do lol)

Carolina is a sophomore too! I don't see them meshing much or being the friend types, but they'll share classes and bonding and Carolina will be nice.

Ana thinks this girl is phenomenal. Even if she doesn't play quidditch. So. They can be trouble together sometimes?

Milo will be nice and he's a prefect in her year so he'll keep an eye on her. He can have a streak of 'rejecting what he's told' too and is easily convinced not to be a goody goody so maybe they can bond and she brings that out?

Vee is Vee. I really need no other words ;)

Grace probably appreciates the soft demeanor and might be fine with Archie except when he's doing his matchmaker thing. Then she's scared of Archie. :o Please leave her out of this. Reading his speculations and things, though, might be a bit of a guilty pleasure. Especially when he turns it into some sort of 'romantic epic'.

SO WISE, SENIOR PREFECTS. Grace will definitely look to them at times for prefect advice and she likely admires Kenzie a little. Because she's so confident and classy and has that amazing voice. Can she be like you when she grows up, Kenzie? You or Diana Damrau?

OMG Spencer. I completely forgot about that! If Spencer asked her to hang out when they were back home Grace probably agreed but was super fidgety and shy and happy to let him do a lot of the talking! It may've taken her the whole summer, but she probably asked if she could come watch him skate too. Grace probably thinks Spencer is SO NICE but also intimidating.

OH CALVIN. Grace may be a bit more comfortable around him than she is around a lot people just because she largely only sees him in Choir and Choir is Her Place. She likes him just fine and respects how hard he works, but definitely thinks he needs to sing more!!
