CHARACTER INTRODUCTIONS & PLOTTING

Hello everyone, and welcome (back) to Gooseberry! We still have a couple weeks until the actual game opens, but we anticipate a lot of new characters joining us.

RULES

So the OOC comm isn't flooded with dozens of new introduction posts, please introduce your new characters here!

Remember to put your character's name in the subject line!

You can say as much or as little as you like. Consider hitting the basics like, house, classes, clubs and year, then describe their personality and interests briefly. Mention what kinds of storylines you want (friends, enemies, etc.) and get to plotting!

Then go around and reply to other peoples' introductions, establishing lines and relationships.

If you have some plot you'd like to talk to people about that involves a returning character, comment here explaining what you're planning!

Be courteous and limit yourself to only one medium/small gif or image! We don't have cuts here, so be kind to your friends who might be on mobile.

Manx I have spent the last week thinking about the increasingly ridiculous schemes they will try to get Pear to win Bluebell's heart. I am obsessed.

We have already talked Nisha and Yancey lmao, but Nia is very very excited for this little monster who likes carnivorous plants and weird animals. Very relatable. She wants to mold her into the perfect prefect. Expect head girl attention.

Lucas is less afraid of Pear than he should be.

Ok so Jeffy fucking loves her, and when they actually meet IC the eardrums of everyone around them will never be the same. Inside voices are a joke, right???? COME ADVENTURE FOOLISHLY WITH US!!!

Dinah thinks she is full of great ideas and wants to storyboard her movies and Paige can help her come up with even more badass ideas for villains and adventures to have.

Riley will sexually harass her.

The others don't matter, I don't even know their names.

Lucas is most relevant! And... In one of the anonymous posts toward the end of year 1 he identified Austin as being cuter than he is or something. I can't remember. ANYWAY, Austin probably sees hairghost around a fair bit because of Bash. Lucas has to try really hard not to laugh whenever the guitar comes out but will generally be ... Lucas.

He is on Nia's radar because of music and I am so sorry because introspective brooding is blood in the water to her and she will harass him relentlessly.

Nisha and Yancey aren't relevant really but I am 99% sure Nisha will find a dumb question to ask him at some point before June.

RIGHT SO Jeffy is mostly ignorant of things on the Wider Wizarding World and probably doesn't have any expectations outside of "HELLO YOU'RE AN AZURCREST!! ARE WE FRIENDS NOW??" He is probably as oblivious as he could reasonably be to her flexible moral compass.

Dinah is in the same year and let's do this girl gang, let's have a 20-person sophomore clique and it's all these terrible terrible girls. I love them with all my heart already. Let's come up with awful ideas!!

She was probably off riley's personal radar when she was at Hogwarts, so they might not have known each other, but Riley was a Slytherin two years older than her! Now they're both birdsnakes. She was call her cutie and hopes her pranks and such will be a good distraction from whatever inappropriate bullshit Riley is getting up to.

Rosy sees her contrariness and raises her eyebrow. She ain't taking no shit this year and will lay down the law if she has to. But also her little brother is a freshman baby bird this year and will probably wreak havoc with her. Please everyone make Freddy into a menace.

And who the fuck even is Austin, nobody knows, he doesn't matter.

I need to reiterate how Good this dorm is going to be. Frighteningly monster good. Nisha is going to love Marie and I want the Coppertots to rain hellfire down on Gooseberry. Nisha wants to read all the lists and hear every opinion and then ask awful questions about them.

My others are SADLY NOT SUPER RELEVANT? :'( Although Nia honestly adores Marie and all these monster girls.

The coppertale soph girls dorm is going to destroy this school and I'm ok with that. Dinah will affectionately call her Corgi and might make her comic book counterpart raise an army of corgis to do her bidding.

THE OTHERSSSS aren't immediately relevant but since she's on Casey's squad then you definitely see the little trash fairy bouncing around their practices when she can be bothered to wake up that early. She's mostly there to check out butts. Riley's always there to check out butts.

GOD I AM SO EXCITED FOR THESE TWO. Also so excited that this school only has terrible twins. Something must happen to your personality when you have to share your womb.

ANYWAYS, Riley is adopting this child. The only problem she has with her scrapbook is that there aren't enough pictures of her in there. Take more salacious pictures of Riley Mae, please. This is not a protective older sibling kind of adoption, this is a molding you into a little me so my legacy can live on kind of adoption. Because it's Riley. They can pretend to know Spanish together!

Get in the soph girl gang with Dinah, who doesn't quite Get her and thinks she's kind of weird, but also thinks that's because she's too weird to understand people. Clearly London is super normal! And cool! Her hobbies are very acceptable!!

Jeffy thinks she's super nice!! How cool! He also constantly gets the twins mixed up, sorry sorry sorry.

Rosy cannot believe she's allowed to carry that blackmail camera around, and Austin doesn't know her, bye Austin no one likes you.

Dinah thinks those carnivorous plants are the most badass thing in the world and wants to watch her feed them EVERY TIME. Pear definitely has a Poison Ivy ripoff counterpart in the DINAH DANGER comic book series. Also they laugh in the back of cars together in gifs, they are clearly BEST FRIENDS.

Austin is a year ahead of her and will raise an eyebrow every time she uses a random French word. It might be because he's jealous he didn't think to use another language's vocabulary to make himself seem more sophisticated.

Riley has adopted London as the Future of Azurcrest, so she might look at Pear and be like "don't you want to do less gross things like play with bugs and plants and, like, curl your hair?? Idgi."

Jeffy constantly gets the twins mixed up. They could have different hair colors and Jeffy would still get them mixed up. Jeffy has twin blindness.

And Rosy probably doesn't think new baby prefects actually have that much power and might be kind of condescending, sorry she's the worst.

OK REAL REPLY TIME:

Dinah is going to burn down the school on accident with her. If you've got any bad ideas, bring them thisaway, girl. Her comic counterpart might literally have a third eye and somehow that third eye makes her an actual rockstar. I hope sometimes they just sit in their cabin and freestyle ridiculous shit while Marie beatboxes and they all decide they're musical geniuses.

Riley has been to her house and has generally wrought havoc there. She probably blends right in. As Casey's platonic soulmate, they are definitely aware of each other. Riley might get kind of jealous when Marie takes Casey's attention away because Riley is the center of the fucking universe, fuck you.

Austin hates it when someone has more musical talent than him and doesn't take it very seriously. Ignore him.

Rosy would also like you to ignore her. Your brother never wrote terrible poetry for her. That must have been someone else, sorry.

And then there's Jeffy. Bye Jeffy no one needs you.

Heathcliff and Dinah will get on like a house on fire. They can be weird and clueless and easily impressed with each other together. And Dinah wants to see all the pictures of his pugs at home, she also loves pugs and similar smush-faced pups and wants to coo over them.

DINAH WILL HAPPILY SHARE HER COMIC BOOK. Please tell her how good she is. She will do the same for you if she sees Cole's drawings. WOW YOU'RE SO GOOD!!

Dinah thinks Hazel is a BADASS and can do NO WRONG. Bug her ALL THE TIME, PLEASE.

And oh god she will not know what to do in response to any flirting so I hope you have fun with that, Ramon. I really really do.

I have a baby that will claim to be SUPER GREAT at skateboards and wants to teach her all the best tricks. Somebody's going to break a bone trying to combine broom and skateboard tricks, that's for damn sure.

AND she loves Spencer, she loves anyone who thinks she's funny and will probably make you regret it by the end of the year.

Concept: Self-hating Muggleborn restyles himself as legacy Seer and future presidential candidate.
Classes: (core) Charms, Hermeticism, Outdoor Education, Potions, Transfiguration; (elective) Defense Against the Dark Arts, Magical Rudiments; (advanced) Divination
Extracurriculars: Prefect, Event Committee, Drama, LARP, Quidditch ANNOUNCER!!!!

Hero is a Good Boy. Buttoned down, nice, polite, responsible, straight A's. He's the grandson of a famous Chinese Seer and has the Sight running through his veins. He's ambitious and he sees the prefect badge as his first step one day becoming MACUSA president. You may know him as the former best friend of the Amortentia ringleader—Hero was the one who turned him in.

This is all a pack of lies. Except for the ambitious part, that's 100% true. He's actually a muggleborn who definitely does not have the Sight. It was his idea to mix Amortentia into tea and lie to upperclassmen. But look, Hero's doing his best to bury all this. He's a nice boy. He'd never do anything wrong! He's a 15-year-old already conducting his life like a dishonest politician manipulating his image to win votes.

As much as he tries to seem ~nice and inoffensive~, he's got a real dramatic streak. You'll get a taste of this either in LARP (which he's joined this year in hopes of impressing the woman of his dreams, Ursula de Luca), Drama, or the official QUIDDITCH COMMENTARY. Not even Ebonhide is safe from speculation of how in-fighting and/or unresolved sexual tension between the captains is TEARING THEM APART. I mean, house pride, go Bears!

Possible lines:

Ebonsophs: Meet your new dadfriend. He wants you all to ~~STOP MAKING HIM LOOK BAD~~ stay safe and out of trouble. Please. Please. If you have a body to bury, Hero will grab a shovel and lie for you. Look at what a GOOD JOB he and Pear are doing, Ms. Rhee!!! What angels!!!

Prefects: We don't have very many soph prefects but he definitely wants to be ~friends~. (Please read this in the most passive-aggressive way possible. He sees you as his chief rivals. Boys in particular, he is not letting any of you take Head Boy from him.) OLDER PREFECTS, he's taking your lead. He already admires the Ebonhide seniors. You're his role models. Please tell him he's doing a good job. ;_;

Sophs in general???: Especially those who are inexplicably pals with Archie Rose, Hero's de facto best friend after he stabbed his last one in the back. Hey ladies, please stop encouraging Archie to stalk people. Hero is going to attempt to be so :) very :) nice :) to all of you, but there's something kind of forced about it, especially if he thinks you are a) dumb or b) potentially better than him which cannot stand. (90% of classmates fall into either of those two categories. I'm... sorry.)

Div Kids: Oh yeah, despite all his pathological lying, Hero does take Divination pretty seriously. He's dabbled into practically everything ~~in a desperate attempt to spark the Sight~~ but currently he's super into Lenormand cards. He's going to be really judgmental of anyone he thinks isn't ~serious~, but on the flipside, if he thinks you have any talent at all, he's going to be soooooo jealous >:C

If Lucas approaches her slowly and doesn't feed her he should be fine. Also, please always have an exit strategy or she will keep you there all day.

He is a downgraded Diego. Diego deserves a better successor than this. But he's happy to cry harder while playing weepy guitar songs if someone else is encouraging it! It's his favorite hobby!!

HERO IS GOOD

cor's my most obvious line for him because EBONSOPHS and she's in EC with him, and they share six classes. six is a lot of classes. she'll like hero a lot -- she feeeeeds off of that determination and loves his dramatic commentaries. i have the lurking suspicion it's hard to get rid of her.

paige is a year above but will also be around the divination tower, and if she finds out about his supposed seer legacy, she's going to be... ecstatic. and ask so many questions, trying to Identify and Connect with him. please don't be afraid to shut her up or shut her out, she deserves it.

kurt and casey are less relevant! kurt's a new prefect and in drama with him! look at this well-behaved sophomore, what an inspiration!!!

Calvin, you have the right idea. Once I find his voice I hope he and Austin are at the very least mildly snippy with each other at all times.

Spencer is definitely a little too much for Austin sometimes, and he's mostly grateful that they are not roommates. It's the only way he can continue to like him. BUT he might appreciate the attempts to break him out of his shell, he just won't show it. That would imply that he needs to improve on something, and obviously that can't be true.

Everyone else can just listen to him play his guitar.

Casper is a fellow Ebonhide and Hero's senior prefect, but I suspect that Casper hasn't spent enough time around him to catch on to the fact that he's a lying liar who lies. :') So, for now, he doesn't have any particular problem with him and will probably be pretty involved with getting him up to speed on prefect things. I'm sooo looking forward to seeing how things go for them~

Heathcliff's a fellow div kid (with hints of actual talent -- sorry Hero!) and probably thinks the Quidditch commentary is hilarious until it's about Coppertale. Then it's totally not funny, guy. Otherwise, he's fine with him! Aaaand Cole and Lachlan are here. But irrelevant. :( Still working on the sophomore situation. So I don't hav a ton for you.

BUT YAY HERO.

If the juniors weren't The Juniors no one would want to put up with this butt so thank god he's at least got that going for him. He'll play a heartbreaking song at her next funeral, he promises.

Tuesday and Austin can occasionally be mopey bears together and not let anyone give them any shit for it.

Addy is an actual doll and Austin will not be able to do anything but like her. He's nowhere near as friendly as Cam but there's a nice kid in there! Somewhere!

And he is clearly also Ferdie's secret cousin. Look at how much they kind of look like each other!!

Nia loves him. He has her snowed. Why can't more students be like Hero??? Look at what a good example he sets. Ursula look at this good good boy everyone knows trophy husbands are supposed to be young better lock this one down.

I am interested to see how he and Nisha will be? They are in LARP and six classes together and I am getting a tiny bit of an oil-and-water vibe since Nisha comes off as dumb and fancies herself an agent of chaos. (I am sorry for my obnoxious trash.) But they will be seeing a lot of each other. Nisha thinks the quid commentary is hilarious. And will profess to NOT BELIEVE IN FATE while also wanting her fortune told.

Yancey is in LARP and Drama with him. Lucas doesn't have too much overlap outside of EC and Charms TAing.
