CHARACTER INTRODUCTIONS & PLOTTING

Hello everyone, and welcome (back) to Gooseberry! We still have a couple weeks until the actual game opens, but we anticipate a lot of new characters joining us.

RULES

So the OOC comm isn't flooded with dozens of new introduction posts, please introduce your new characters here!

Remember to put your character's name in the subject line!

You can say as much or as little as you like. Consider hitting the basics like, house, classes, clubs and year, then describe their personality and interests briefly. Mention what kinds of storylines you want (friends, enemies, etc.) and get to plotting!

Then go around and reply to other peoples' introductions, establishing lines and relationships.

If you have some plot you'd like to talk to people about that involves a returning character, comment here explaining what you're planning!

Be courteous and limit yourself to only one medium/small gif or image! We don't have cuts here, so be kind to your friends who might be on mobile.

Yay London!!!

So we briefly talked about Archie and London being friends if you're still into that! Archie imagines his creeper tendencies are COLLECTING DATA, but needless to say he sees nothing wrong with London trampling peoples' privacy. They can compare notes.

Mackenzie is the senior Azurbabe prefect and a fellow cheerleader. She mostly just thinks London's a scamp, and only steps in if there's like... a real conflict, someone's super upset by her, etc. SHE'S NOT HERE TO POLICE PERSONALITY QUIRKS.

Reid is far more distressed by... all of this. WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THESE KIDS.

Calvin's secretive and private, and if London tries to get in his business he's gonna haaaaaate it. Leave him to conduct his messy personal life in PEACE. He just wants ONE YEAR without someone taking INVASIVE PHOTOGRAPHS of him. Her nosiness makes him super duper uncomfortable.

Spencer will take it better and probably thinks London's a nice girl! So friendly!! So pink!!! Because he's a little thick when it comes to reading people.

Hello it is Manx and I have the other monster twin Holloway. Her profile is here!

Concept: Little Miss Sunshine loves unicorns, feeds starving children steady diet of flies.
Classes: (core) Charms, Herbology, Outdoor Education, Potions, Transfiguration; (electives) Defense Against the Dark Arts, Magizoology. (advanced) Muggle Technology Studies.
Clubs: Cheer, Crafting, Equestrian, Gardening, Duelling & Fencing, Outdoor Exploration.

London's twin sister, but they are NOT born on the same day, so stop wishing her happy birthday on London's birthday!! Also Yancey is her yamhead older half-brother.

Paris prefers to go by Pear. (And pretty much always refers to London as Beans.) However!! She also loves to sprinkle her speech with garbage French as an homage to her name!! She thinks it makes her sound très sophisticated!!

Pear's an Ebonhide Sophomore and a former Wampus.

Aggressively Nice. Very Pink. LOVES UNICORNS!!

She's a Spriggan Scout, which is just a wizarding flair Girl Scout, but omg trust me, you're all VERY AWARE of this.

She's been entrusted with a prefect badge. I am super excited for "Ravi & Sun-mi... but they're assholes!!"

Other than Spriggan Scouts, her main passion at school is her carnivorous plants and her pet tarantula, Charlotte. Everyone is VERY welcome to attend feeding time.

She also does roller derby but there's like.. not a lot of great places to go skating here, so she will have to deal with her pent-up aggression in other ways.

Ha ha ha, just kidding. She's So Nice!! There's no aggression at all!!

PLOT STUFF

Obviously, the usual stuff! Friends, enemies, etc. GIRL GANG. Prefect buddies. Ilvermorny buddies. etc etc etc.

She considers Gabi her bitter arch-rival, because Gabi is Bluebell's favorite. Sara, I am sorry about this.

Pear desperately wants to be Bluebell's favorite, but first she needs to actually be able to get near Bluebell. Jenny and I had the idea for a silly running joke about the monster kids trying to help Pear win over Bluebell with increasingly ridiculous schemes. Soooo, any other monster children that can't get near Bluebell want to help?

Reid... is... going to try very hard. To help. As a senior team member. And a prefect. And role model.

It's a lot for him to process.

SO Nisha is going to be pranking the other teams in mostly lighthearted ways on the nights before/mornings of Coppertale games. I have the first two planned out and plan on posting all of them as Note/Owl/Gift posts. If any other coppertale cheerleaders or quidditch players want to collaborate on these, lmk, but also I plan on dropboxing these before posting them in case Nisha gets caught so be prepared for consequences if you do?? Also I am very sorry for your shitty new baby chaser, Coppertale team.

Aaaand despite being an asshole, Nisha will be very pro-bonding-with-the-team since she's an awkward shithead who doesn't know how to make friends outside of organized club activities. So she might nag Sy about team dinners or team movie night or something.

oh my god cor isn't even in magizoology and she's now hellbent on getting pair palled up with bluebell. also she loves pear to death. :( and i never responded to your email but gory talbott is the best fucking derby name.

i love her! my others don't have sooo much to do with pear, though. maybe she and pear can gut some fish together someday. she and kurt will be NEW PREFECTS together! and casey is casey.

As one of the TOTALLY BRAND NEW kids and a fellow competitive fox, Heathcliff will be giving Quidditch his all and he'll be trying very hard to impress the other members of the team (especially Sy, Roxie, and Reid). So he'll go along with whatever Sy's got in mind without complaint~ BRING IT ON, CAPTAIN.

When it comes to bonding activities, Heathcliff won't come up with the idea but once someone else (like Nisha!) does he'll be all about that.

We're planning an event inspired by squonk care that revolves around Bluebell that you're going to enjoy. :)))

SO. Archie is in her year and house!!! And he's the perpetual shadow of her co-prefect!!! And he's troublesome!!! He's easy to rope into schemes and will assist in helping her win over Bluebell. How does Pear feel about experimental potions to trick unicorns??? Because he has an 💡Idea💡.

Kenzie and Reid are senior prefects so she'll probably have to talk to them eventually! Kenzie is Azurcrest's cool mom who doesn't want to be anyone's mom, and who's main qualifier for prefect intervention is "Is anyone crying? If not, it's probably okay." Reid's a little more... concerned. Just across the board worried. Mildly distressed about everything.

Spencer will be friendly! He's very social! He can probably tell the twins apart just because... memory stuff.

Aaaaaand she won't need to worry about Calvin much!

HELLO ALL. I... really really really need to respond to other intros and also the responses on my LAST intro, BUT!!! FORGET ABOUT ALL OF THAT, because this is ALEX with ANOTHER NEW CHARACTER!

So this is Austin McNamara, of the New Ebonhide Junior Boys! Roll around in his trash heap bio here!!

Concept: Sensitive singer-songwriter strives to impress classmates, irritates instead.
Classes: Outdoor Education, Charms, Herbology, Astronomy, Potions, History of Magic, Artificing, Music.
Clubs: Choir, Gaming, Gardening.

The most important thing about Austin is that he is your resident acoustic guitar kid. He brings his stupid guitar everywhere. He will be playing Wonderwall at the Grotto and practices constantly in his cabin. He's not as good at guitar, singing, or songwriting as he would like to be but he's going to do it constantly anyways. I'm sorry to his roommates but HE'S NOT!!

OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS:

From Muscle Shoals, AL. And also Cedar Knob, KY, which is right over the border and just outside the Halo of Wealth that is Olympus, TN, but he'll mostly just tell you he's from Muscle Shoals. Because it's a music town. If you didn't know that before he started here, you know that know, because Austin will be sure to tell you it's a music town.
He's Cameron Carney's cousin, and he is nowhere near as bright and sparkly and outgoing and fun, and also nowhere near as musically talented.
He's kind of a brooding hipster douche. Not that he's mean, or has that much to brood on, it's just being moody and condescending is very important to the hipster aesthetic that Austin is very dedicated to. He can't believe you haven't heard of his favorite band (except of course you haven't, they're super underground, not mainstream like this garbage the rest of you guys listen to).
He tries to hide his southern accent a lot, because saying you're from Muscle Shoals and sounding like you're from Alabama are two different levels of cool. He's not very successful at it. There are too many other southerners at this school, it trips him up.
Sometimes he walks around barefoot and he's going to get hookworms if he keeps it up.
Look at his beautiful kitty, her name is Delìrium Còrdia (or just Deli, he named her after a ridiculous album and you shouldn't be required to call her that).
I hope I get to embarrass this kid. I hope he writes some super overwrought lyrics after getting his heart mildly broken or something.

i made it. hello. i've been avoiding this post out of SHAME, because despite having this character in the back of my head for MONTHS, i basically hadn't touched her app until last night, lmao. i suck. but now i suck less!

anyway, this is cameron, bringing you CASEY patterson's little sister, marie. she's a coppertale sophomore and you can read her full profile here.

Concept: Human whirlwind squanders potential in favour of caprice, creativity, chaos.
Classes: Potions, charms, herbology, transfiguration, aesthetic magic, divination.
Clubs: Choir, Events Committee.

TL;DR:
— Girl band member #2! Marie is a strong singer who absolutely loves making music, but despite her obvious talent, she doesn't take the whole band thing too seriously. It's a hobby! It's fun! What do you mean, she "could be doing more" with this?
— Marie is artistic, passionate, exciting, and sort of, kind of, definitely Too Much. Loud! Competitive! Impulsive! Absolutely a presence at the Grotto, despite being a very small babychild!
— Also, she was one of the List Maker Freshmen, so get ready to hear all about her many and varied opinions.
— She loves throwing herself into new projects, and she tends to dramatically reinvent herself every time her hobby changes. She is always, always, always convinced that she's Discovered her Truest Self... and then three weeks later, she's like, "NAH!!!!" and then she tries her hand at something else.
— Right now, she's Convinced that Divination is the coolest thing since sliced bread. She's been super into it for like, the last 6 months. Unlike some of the other kids in the class, she's definitely not a Seer, nor does she have any particular... skill or... knowledge... but she finds the idea of it oh-so-mysterious and romantic. We'll see how she does in the class.
— AND SPEAKING OF ROMANCE: Marie is always a little in love with someone, and maybe it's your character! I can promise that it'll be silly, and that it almost certainly will not stick.
— Friends?? Not-friends??? MORTAL ENEMIES???? All ideas welcomed.

thank you cor!! this is a super important mission!! pear has obviously seen cor's tv show and i think she was a leetle bit star struck last year, but she's over that by now. but it was probably annoying for awhile there!!

um, yes, when you were working on paige all i could think is that essie is probably like HUH at the fish guts (but... she will utterly adore paige anyway, i am not really memeing, but she will be SUPER EXCITED to meet her once school starts!!!) while pear is like OH NEAT. and i just realized i am not gonna be 3/3 on kids who like to oogle casey, whoops.

dang kas. i was only a scout for a couple years in elementary school so i canNOT, though I dig Canada's spin on it.

Pear thinks that sounds like a très valid form of scientific exploration, Archie!! (Which, btw, this may have been answered elsewhere but were any of the freshmen drugged during the event last year?) BUT ANYWAY!! These all sound like good things and I am v excited for all these naughty Ebonkiddos.

Reid, you are a role model to small children now. You should definitely be distressed. Essie will probably be more trouble for Kenzie than Pear is, but Essie is trying to clean up her act, she swears!!!

Aaaaaaand Pear thinks that she's très obviously different from Beans, but she will appreciate that Spencer can tell. ...Unless they are trying to do a switcheroo for some reason and in that case, she will not!!

Alex I am super bad at these intros too but with this summary and that gif i am just like "oh no, he's superficially like Diego" and i don't even know what that is going to mean with Essie, but she may be super bratty at him half the time and the other half be like "LET ME SIT BY YOU WHILE YOU PLAY WEEPY GUITAR SONGS. PLEASE CRY HARDER. HAVE YOU CONSIDERED SUSPENDERS???"

Austinnnnnnn is cute.

Calvin's in his year and... has almost certainly been a jerk to Austin for most of the time they're known one another. Any time Austin said something pretentious Calvin's hackles were immediately up. HE SOFTENED A LITTLE LAST YEAR, and might have the wherewithal to feel bad, but you can totally count him as someone who finds Austin irritating.

Spencer's also in his year and he'll be nicer! But he's a little shouty and overbearing and he's maybe heard of that band (as in one time Austin said the name in his presence) but lol he's definitely never bothered to listen to them or care much. He might be a little too much of a steamroller when faced with a nice quiet kid AUSTIN LET'S BREAK YOU OUT OF YOUR SHELLLLL.

Archie's a year below him but they probably won't interact a lot unless... Archie takes an unfortunate liking to him.

Kenzie and Reid probably don't matter too much aside from being prefects, but Austin doesn't seem like he's going to get in lots of trouble. Kenzie's friends with Cameron though so she'll know who he is in that context.

MARIE ♥

Ages ago we talked about Archie and "Sparky" being friends and I am still into that if you are. :((( She's FUN and Archie likes people who are FUN and will make important decisions for him.

Spencer's on her big brother's cheer squad and he thinks Casey is Great and they're bros. So he'll be nice to Casey's little sister! He might be awkward about getting flirty with her because whoops friend's younger sibling.

Reid is a senior Coppertale prefect and he's going to be in a constant state of worrying about this cabin of girls and what they're going to do next.

Kenzie is Tally's older sister OBVIOUSLY so she will dote on Marie. ♥

And then there's Calvin who she won't be forced to interact with often!
