What's Happening Here?

Some of your classmates have been taken by Anonymous. He’s put them to sleep in hidden places in the woods. He’d taken control of the forest, and has set up a game for his Brother, to challenge Brother to prove that he loves the children more than Anonymous does. Instead, the Brother’s used all his strength to freeze time in the forest and bring you all here to help him save your friends.

Two things will slow your progress: 1) every time you exit a room, you and your companions will be teleported to a random location; and 2) with so much competing magic in the air, the membrane between life and death has become thinner. You’re not the only lost children out here.

This is our very first time running an event like this, and as such, it's very experimental! We'll see what needs to be adjusted as we go along. Thank you for your continued patience as we work to get this event running. :)

This is a very Essie-specific question, but I'm going to put it in the right section anyway... :x

Marin previously said the compass magic doesn't work for this event, but it would show that Diego was in the forest. Does it react any differently if Essie tries to check it inside the forest? Does it get really confused or should I let the goosemods account reply to any compass checking?

What I actually said was that the compass wouldn't be much help to Essie, which it isn't, given the teleporting. Originally I was thinking it will not be able to resolve Mina's location (because she's not here, technically), and it'll accurately point to Diego's location deep in the forest.

Since I see you already had it that the compass pointed to Mina's location in Ebonhide, that's fine. It will be able to find Diego's location if Essie holds the compass still for a few minutes, but if she tries to follow where the compass is pointing her, she'll teleport somewhere else before she can even get close.

Specifically for Essie's current location, if she decides to get off the path and walk into the forest, it'll be several minutes of walking before they're whisked off.

It's fine! If it helps, you can assume Diego is somewhere in the forest beyond the Grotto, and Essie's compass can point in that direction if you'd like to keep her on the path. Otherwise, maybe it's beyond the Grotto and slightly south if you think it might be interesting to take them off the path. :O

...Or I can RNG it if you're really indecisive, lol.
