In every adorable sophomore bird dorm, there must be one awful, awful person.
This is Lyss, and I have taken it upon myself to write this person, and I'm sorry.

So hey you guys, meet

Jade is a 16 year old sophomore Azurcrest, and a pureblood. She comes from like, everywhere. That's part of the problem. Her mother is a Guatemalan diplomat, and her father is a Canadian international trade lawyer based out of Vancouver, so she lives (kind of) in both those places.

Her classes include: Charms, Herbology, Hermeticism, Transfiguration, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Aesthetic Magic, Astronomy. She isn't as smart as all that would imply, but works hard and gets solid Bs, at least. She's in Drama (she loves it,) and Duelling/Fencing (for the hexes, because those are handy,) and Event Committee (because it seemed like a good idea.)

Jade grew up having to travel the world with her parents for their stupid jobs. She hated it very much, and was not able to ever really adapt to one place enough to really grow roots there. Gooseberry has been that for her so far.

She attended what felt like countless international magic-student-schools and never made any friends. At first she learned to live with that. But then in middle school. she learned that she had claws. Basically. Jade became rude, eager to express her dominance, fake to fit in, honestly kind of deeply unpleasant. It was her version of being Adaptable, but she needed a better one. Sadly, it all paid off. When she moved schools, she now found that she had burned bridges, and they usually didn't want her back. She got in a lot of very real discipline issues. Her last antic was breaking someone's leg. Whoops.

Her parents, in puzzling out what the hell to do with her, made her participate in some extracurricular activities. She chose drama, and she loves it very much. Actually, she's a very good actress. Her many (many) faces come out, when she's not caught up in the backstage dramatics of it all. That's easy for her to do sometimes.

At Gooseberry, Jade's more muted. Her survival instincts are still turned up, but they're slowly dying, and she's learned it's more important to get along with people than be better than them all the time. However, her old habits die hard, and she is still by no means above fake personas and mean-girling to get what she wants.

LOOKING FOR: Oh god, I don't know. People who put up with her? I'm REALLY EXCITED for adorable sophomore antics, and I'm sorry for ruining this class. Mean Girls can she play with you? Acting kids, can she play with you?

LARP kids, her dream is to play with you, but tarninshing her reputation like that seems really unwise. :(

Hey Jade, Ariadne thinks you're the coolest person in the entire world, maybe. So worldly! Such good breeding. I'm not sure how well they'd get along if Ari wasn't dead-set on impressing her, but she is.

Reece is gonna try to get her to join LARP for sure

Aaaand I don't know how she and Todd would get along? I imagine he's a little put off by her attitude, but they have a lot of overlap (charms, transfig, DADA, astronomy, event committee, and Drama Club which he's also super into) so they probably have a lot of chances to interact anyways?

It's ok, if Ari wasn't trying to impress her, Jade would probably be trying the same thing right back. Ari's definitely the kind of person she'd want to get on the good side of, and is THRILLED that it's working the other way this time. In her eyes they could probably have a wonderful friendship until someone sabotages the other.

Ugh Reece don't tempt her. :(

Oh they dooo. And as such she probably doesn't mess with Todd unless she finds it Absolutely Necessary. She's trying to very slowly learn the lesson of don't be mean to people if you have to see them every day. So she will probably Mostly Tolerate him.

PERFECT. I'm so excited to have another sophomore mean girl for Ari to kick it with. Not that I don't love the juniors, but also BABY MEANGIRLS. I like this a lot actually because I feel like Mackenzie and co fuck with people because they think it's fun and Ari and Jade are more like... defensive and just trying to claw some space out for themselves.

So OBVIOUSLY Isabelle would be the most likely to interact with her.

They're in nearly all the same classes, both are in drama & event committee, and in common: they both moved around a lot! Issy all throughout America, though but still. And I 100% am ok with Jade making Issy her target of mean-girling, if you want! Because Issy is shy, weird, extremely concerned with her reputation, neurotic, and incredibly self-conscious. The exact perfect target for Jade tbhhhhhh.

Avery will try to be nice, they are in Dueling and Fencing together but thats it and if Jade is that mean/stand-offish, Avery will only try ~so hard~

Penelope at one point would have just ignored the fuck out of Jade, but now either a) Penny's rapidly declining self-confidence in the MOST NOTICEABLE WAY (cause she's all over the journals about it rly) could make her a target OR Penny's penchant for now becoming a mean girl herself might make them friends IDK.

Hiii! She does not usually antagonize people just for fun, so Issy would have had to get on her bad side. BUT if Jade sees her as being either weak or a threat, she will speak up. She'd also take advantage if a situation arose where Issy had something Jade wanted or could help her get it. So long story short I am sorry in advance!

She will probably noooot pay much attention to Avery unless she voluntarily gets on her bad side

And she wonders why it's take so long for Penny to see the light and become rude to hide your own lack of confidence but hey. We will see how they do :)!

She probably sees Issy as being weak tbh, definitely not a threat.

And YES we'll see, we'll see. Penelope is shunning AND embracing that mean girl side it's coming in waves there is much turmoil. xD

I will come back with everyone later but... Kenzie will probably adore her? I MEAN if there's one thing that can be said about Kenzie, it's that she has thick skin. She can shrug off Jade's periodic lashing out, and maintain a pretty level disposition as a counterpoint. She'll let Jade in on all the Mean Girl wards, and be... genuinely affectionate, in her own way.

Jade has the bad habit of testing people she wants to be friends with by lashing out, so Kenzie's tolerance for that has done a lot in getting her closer and Jade inevitably thinks Kenzie is the best person ever and adore her right back. She may still be prickly but it's...maybe calming down. She's probably catty on BEHALF of Kenzie more often than she's that way to her personally now, it is how you know she is tamer.

Ooooooh nooooooo, now I HAVE to app my version of Elliot/Lottie love child, so that he can be friends with Jade

Off the top of my head, I don't think Cricket or Jesse would have all that much to do with her, but WHO KNOWS? Stranger things have happened. If Cricket and Casey can be best friends, we can make anything happen.

I actually don't think it's so farfetched! Somehow, Jesse appears to be a collector of female friendships that he definitely does not deserve. And although he doesn't seem like a very good prefect, he does actually check in with his Azurbabies pretty frequently.

Essie once mooned over him and he's close with Ree, so maybe Jesse has established himself as some sort of Azurbaby defender??? WE'LL MAKE IT HAPPEN

Hello I love you I love her I will probably try and formulate a proper response in the morning. But. I'm mostly just really excited to see how she and Riley interact.

...I'm actually more excited to see how she interacts with the sweet Azurbabies tbh but I'm REALLY EXCITED TO PLAY HER WITH RILEY.

kurt and she are ~drama starz!~ i can see him not being crazy about her outside of drama, but it's not like he shows that stuff? if she calms down a little in drama club then he's more willing to see her good side.

Kurt has definitely seen her calmer, even sort of introspective side in drama, which she copes for by mostly pretending he doesn't exist otherwise, I'm sure :( But she wouldn't be actively mean at him eithe.

And Roxie understands the whole 'I've been to 500 schools and somehow managed to maintain zero friends from them' experience. With marginally less violence, sure. But with the same end result of not talking to anyone.

Jade immediately distrusts super cute/nice people on principle but Frankie...may be well on her way to proving herself. She has begrudgingly allowed her to draw on her walls. To fit in. Fine.

Bash is a mystery to her and she doesn't understand but she might be rude at him sometimes because that sounds kiiind of fun.

OKAY LYSS I AM BAAAAAACK.

SO omggg obviously Essie is her roomie!!! And... Essie is incredibly easy to win over and not the greatest judge of character. It kind of depends on if Jade has ever directly gone after Essie or if she's just generally irritated like Ari. (Essie thinks Ari is So Cool.) Uhhhh, Essie adds to the artistic chaos in the room with a lot of very noisy magical robot birds and what not but she can make them quiet if she has to because school rules.

Ursula is part of the Mean Girls (she's like... sidekick #4) and generally aspires to fit in among the pureblood girls. Her dad's a pureblood but her mom is New Money Muggleborn so I always envision her as being something of a black sheep among purebloods. SOOOOOO idk. Ursula is really terrible at making Actual friendships but they both orbit Kenzie. idk why i am writing so much you obv know ursula.

Jacob is like... there. He's in D+F. And Saira's study group. And that's all I got there.

ESSSIEEEE. No, she probably hasn't gone after her directly. Probably. She mostly doesn't like ruining the place she lives. She will think low key manipulation is the way to go here.
And PROBABLY won't accidentally on purpose break her robot toys.

She'll always feel a little superior to Ursula though she should not. She will play nice with her for the most part though and only lash out when she has to.

Pippa is... apprehensive. She was bullied at Hogwarts and she Does Not want that to happen at Gooseberry too. :( So if Jade says/does cruel things in front of Pippa, then Pippa is going to avoid her at all costs. Buuuut Pippa is also really gullible, so if Jade is good at faking it, then maybe Pippa doesn't realise she's a Mean Girl???

Coralee thinks it's absolutely HILARIOUS that Jade broke someone's leg. Coralee loves manipulating other people into doing things like that, so she may try pushing Jade to be her ~baddest self~ (because seriously, getting along with people is overrated). She's also in Drama and Event Committee, and as long as Jade knows her place (i.e. below Coralee, lol) then they'll get on well!

Irene is in Duelling & Fencing with Jade! She would v much prefer it if Jade doesn't join LARP tyvm. :|

Etta is in the same house but there's probably not much overlap aside from that!
