HELLOO this is CAMERON i also have a character to intro bc yall dont see enough of me around here i guess lmfao sorry

this is cassius holcomb, coppertale sophomore. also known as cash, because cassius is a silly name. his concept is "overcompensating suburban kid shoots for the moon, lands amongst the dumpsters" and, well, that's it in a nutshell. he's here to join the OVERACHIEVERS CLUB, although, amusingly enough, not the goody-two-shoes club. cash won't push you under a bus, but he won't stop you from making a bad choice, either. he's perfectly willing to watch you eat shit so long as his face stays clean, especially if it helps him to get ahead. he's not a bad kid, though! he wants to be a nice boy, he's just acutely aware that it's a dog-eat-dog world.

cash comes from an almost parodically-suburban* nuclear family that was obsessed with keeping up with the joneses. cash inherited those sensibilities, but ruined it for his family when he came out as transgender at 13. his folks passive-aggressively ignore him entirely, and he's been essentially on his own ever since then. as a result, he's very into the concept of self-sufficiency; he never wants to have to scramble to figure things out again and he knows he can't rely on anyone else to do things for him.

he's always trying to make the grade, win the award, be the best... but sometimes his tendency to trip and fall into hijinx gets the way of his dreams. he might be trying to peddle you a pyramid scheme. c'mon, how can you say no to this face?

eta: ok, i mentioned that he was transgender but then i forgot to elaborate on how that might impact your characters. in summary.... they probably don't know, unless they guessed when he first came to school as a freshman (which is when he started taking testosterone. before that, well. 14 y/os are runty anyway.) or b/c cash resolutely will not go swimming.

he uses his Hard Earned Gainz to buy testosterone from unscrupulous dudes who sell to teenagers in gyms, which is not something anyone should do. to date, he has neither been caught buying nor taking his T (he stashes the used needles in a tin under his bed). theoretically, this could cause trouble down the line, since ... that looks sketchy af, lol. no, he won't ask for help from the school and also authority figures can suck his dick.

Rafael thinks Cash is the best. Look at that kid, he's tough and knows what's up and is Going Places. They have... a lot of similar values, except Rafael's more on the lawful side of the scale. Being cutthroat is an admirable trait to him. Go get 'em, little buddy. Do no harm but take no shit.

Reid is a year above him in Coppertale and hopelessly awkward, but sometimes passes it off as just being a cool ice prince. He'll know who Cash is, and appreciates directness. They're in Archery together! Reid likes to climb things!

Calvin is a fellow Sophomore! He was a shit last year, but this year he's settled down to just... abrasive. Cash is a certified Cute Boy who's also very smart, so Calvin probably feels very threatened by him. But he's defrosting slowly so might be less irrationally defensive than he used to be.

Kenzie might not know him very well, unless his schemes with Todd (Marin's gonna shame me too) come up and those are just peachy. She encourages the ripping off of classmates because it's funny and no hard feelings if they get one over on her. ♥

Diego will interact with Cash the least... but he'll be an easy mark.

HE LOVES RAFAEL and more importantly, admires him... although cash runs cool where rafael runs hot. he probably raises an eyebrow when raf Goes Off at all the troublemakers. like buddy, dude, whatever man. just write them up. they'll learn their lesson when they go to KID JAIL or whatever it is that happens when you get too many detentions. that said... i can totally see him being raf's little lackey at times, lol. when it suits him, anyway.

he probably also really likes reid, lmfao. bet he buys the ice prince shit and sees it as something to emulate. he's also... not big on feelings, so he's like "look at this guy. this guy's got his shit on LOCK."

calvin, lmao, i love him. cash is also a slytherin at heart, so we'll see how they play against each other. no need to be defensive, buddy!! ok, maybe some need to be defensive.

honestly and this is terrible but... i bet cash finds the mean girls antics pretty amusing. which is BAD because, like, he considers himself to be aligned with the underdog and that is not how one goes about doing that. still, he probably thinks people wouldn't get teased if they didn't kind bring it on themselves. whether or not he's bold enough to try and pull one over on kenzie is tbd, lol.

~Isabelle and him are same grade, they share some classes. She's an awful perfectionist and overachiever but she's horribly not self-confident and over-obsessed with it. They could be super fun to put in a room together xD. She also loves things that are organized well.

~Avery is in Hockey? so they can know each other from that? She's a JR & in Ribbonfin, not much reason to cross paths - BUT, she is also Trans. She is not overly out about it. However, they can totally talk to each other about it because Avery is no longer going to deny if anyone asked and if Cash is out about it or whatever, they can be a good support system for each other :)

Solomon is in his year, and classes. Solomon doesn't really incorporate any of the things Cassius hates, but he also kiiiiinda doesn't incorporate any of the things he likes either? Like solomon's a fucking marshmellow who treats Cassius like a friend and has been nothing but kind to him, he also seems capable of quietly surviving on his own and likely has never uttered a self pitied word in his life but??? idk how cassius feels about him, it likely won't change how solomon treats him lol

I think chris respects the kid? Chris I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S COME UP IN GAME SINCE YOU JOINED is a quiet overachiever, but doesn't seem like one. If Cassius goes to like any study groups, especially the one Saira started (Saira started a study group btw), chris will be there. But also, hockey. If this kid attended any of the hockey bootcamps before the season started (we had hockey boot camps before the season started), chris was in charge of those.

Olivia is in the same house, plus a prefect, plus a good student, plus kinda a badass but also nice, so idk how cassius feels about her. She isn't as cool about prefecting as Cassius would be (she leans toward heart to hearts and awarding good behavior) but she doesn't usually get bent out of shape over rule breaking. I mean, she doesn't condone it either, but shit happens.

Welcome to the overachiever's club, here is one of your presidents. Leo will also like Cash!! He tends to find cutthroat sensibilities very admirable and would do nothing to discourage this. He 100% is also about self sufficiency though he's never had to practice it in the way Cash has. They may not have tons of reasons to know each other but if he lackeys for Rafael they might!

But Addy will be nice, and constantly amused when he pulls schemes. She does not easily fall for things because she's in no way as dumb as she usually acts. Ferdie is in gaming club with him but otherwise wouldn't bother him much, but is a prefect so any actual rule breaking will be met with wry instructions to make his millions later, please. Cole is a fellow sophomore and one of those awful human beings that does extremely well in school without trying. He's naturally bright, naturally gifted with magic, naturally artistic...and a totally oblivious, socially inept space cadet. I think he might rub Cassius the wrong way since he tries so hard at everything and Cole just doesn't? But you tell me! Otherwise, he usually keeps to himself and to his circle of friends and probably won't be too much of a bother. Although, he does draw everyone and Cassius is no exception.

Ty is a fellow Coppertale and is aso in archery with Cash. He also understands having a silly full name. :| Let them never speak of their full names. Despite being a bubbly and ridiculous and overly energetic person, he's friends with a lot of overachievers and he works very hard at the things that matter to him, so he gets Cash's drive more than might be expected. They probably don't have a ton of overlap, but he likes you just fine, kid!

Cecil and Casper have basically no overlap with Cassius! Cecil makes it a point to know everyone at least in a very casual way and will definitely be kind and supportive of Cassius, but that's about all. EXCEPT for the weird fact that they both whittle?
