ehjnmafa i don't have any gifs of the show quinn's icon set is from (and making them is hard!) but when i was looking for screencaps i kept getting confused because her character's boyfriend on the show is named "ty." so in all quinn's kissing icons, she's kissing a boy named ty" my brain couldn't figure out what was going on for a while.

Just to say that I WILL BE BACK BECAUSE THIS IS FUN and more fun than sorting out other people's shit. Apparently, this is what happens when you're actually competent at your job...

What do they look for in a person?: #1 turn on is being into him, lmao, sorry. He loves attention and being praised. It's not cute. OTHER THAN THAT: someone who shares his values, someone who's fun to be around, someone who he can have a good back-and-forth with. A little friction/teasing is great, but actual antagonism is a hard no because he's ~sensitive, lmao. It's a little tough, because he's attracted to power & success, to uncomplicated people, and to people who have their shit on lock -- hypocritically, obviously. Truly, deep down, I think his dream date would be someone who he felt he could be himself around. It would be nice to be able to let down his guard and be a soft, little weirdo with too many feelings and not worry that the other person sees him as some kind of failure as a man. Unfortunately for him, the kind of person he's attracted to is unlikely to be into... that. And he's shallow, so they have to be hot.

What do they find romantic?: Uhhh, Ulysses has two romantic scenario fantasies and both are a little embarrassing. #1 = "We are an effortlessly cool power couple and everyone is very impressed and jealous." #2 = "We get married and have 2 children and a dog and a PONY and she makes me toast in the morning and it's nice." (Neither of these are possible b/c he sucks.)

i'm watching the UK through for the first time rn (i tried when it came out and didn't for w/e reason) and it's got funny bits, it's entertaining, etc. but emma warns that it is not a show to watch when you want Happy, it can go from "lol" to "wtf" pretty fast.

all the sex, drugs, partying, felonies?, and misadventures make the gooseberry kids look super normal though. so that's nice.

Then he'd have to deal with VEE too! Can you take Vee, Sy?! She's a soulless ginger and she's very small and AGILE.

What are they like in a relationship?: There is no way this punk has ever had a serious relationship in his goddamn life. Maybe he dated some kid for like 2 weeks in the 8th grade just to prove he could, but c'mon. He's kind of a child and actually, I think, naive/innocent about relationships, despite bragging it up like every other dipshit high school boy. Hot girls scare him. He wants them to think he's cool and he doesn't want them to realise he doesn't know where to put his hands when they're making out. 100%, he's easily flustered; flirting is fun and fine and easy until it becomes purposeful, and then he's pink. Relationships are foreign to him and his would have to be super terrible before he realised it was bad. Be gentle.

Anyway, Ulysses is pretty low maintenance to date. That's probably the only good thing, though, because he's teenage-brat-selfish and is pretty unlikely to pull his head out of his ass enough to notice if you're feeling upset about something. No, okay, he's fun enough to be around if you like it when someone grabs your hand and drags you into some stupid adventure. His one good trait is that he says thank you and sorry very easily. When it comes to his Life Mistakes, he'll point fingers at anyone but himself, but interpersonally, he's quick to acknowledge other people's work supporting him. (ALTHO HE MAINTAINS THAT HE COULD DO IT HIMSELF.) Also, he's kind of old-fashioned about dating, weirdly enough? He'd ask your dad for permission before he proposed to you. Not that anyone is getting married in high school!

Anything else?: I was shocked to discover how hetero he is. Also also, why am I so mean to him?

BUT ANYWAYS, you know how Sy assumes Rosy operates exactly like him? ROSY DOES THE SAME THING (it's almost like they do operate the exact same way 98% of the time) and thinks that the reason he's bombed every one of his relationships is because he can't get close to anyone. Which has her paranoid about her own relationship because look at all of this undeniable proof.

But also she ships Sy & Clem.

She might also just be happy it's not someone she hates. She got pretty fucking panicked when he went to the Halloween dance with Coralee.
