Hello everyone! Here's details on how to handle the remaining three weeks of game:

On the evening of Sat, Jun 23, the world gets back into contact with the remaining evacuees of Gooseberry High. MACUSA immediately seizes control of the school for further investigation. This includes shutting down the magical journal system for two weeks.

A funeral is held for Zebulon Merrill in Salt Lake City, UT, on Sat, Jun 30. He is remembered by his wife and two adult children, and will be interred in Brigham City Cemetery. All current and former students of Gooseberry are invited to attend, and several of Mr. Merrill's colleagues deliver speeches. (We won't be posting anything for this, but you can reference this event happening.)

On Sun, Jul 8, access to the magical journal system is restored. Everyone who was a student from 2014–15 (i.e. not last year's graduates) can write posts and comments again. Anything that was written before July 8 (e.g. endgame posts) is still visible but can't be responded to anymore.

The return of the magical journal system coincides with the announcement that Gooseberry Alternative High School is shut down until further notice. All freshmen, sophomores and juniors (including exchange students) are all automatically given admission to Ilvermorny, should they wish to continue at an American boarding school. If they choose to continue their studies elsewhere, their academic records will be sent to the new school. Everyone will have received this news by owl post on July 8.

Gooseberry's magical journal system will officially deactivate forever on Wed, Aug 1.

What does this mean for you?

Starting tomorrow, you can post journal entries/comments, IC/OOCs, letters, etc. like normal. It's summer vacation! PLOT HERE about your characters' activities for the past two weeks.

Although graduates can't post on the journals, they are allowed to show up in any summer IC/OOCs or to send mail to current characters.

Your mods are off-duty except for two posts we'll do sometime soon: the "Where Are They Now?" meme (for discussion of your characters' futures) and the 10 Year Reunion IC/OOC. All former students of Gooseberry will be invited to the reunion, regardless of when they attended.

Tue, Jul 31 will be the last day of the game. You will still be able to backtag for as long as you want, but no new posts will be allowed in either the IC or OOC comms as of Aug 1. Everything will stand as a record of the incredible love and work we've all put into this game for the past two years.

Cameron has spent a lot of time sitting in the bathtub in the corner of the one room in his house that gets consistent signal, giving himself a crash course in muggle tech by texting all his friends with phones. He texts like a combination of your grandmother and a really annoying teen. More wizardy types, he'll write. Some of his closest friends, he'll probably apparate around to visit, if they want the company. Otherwise, he's spending all the rest of his time sitting by the pool day drinking and insisting he's Totally Fine.

Chloe is very concerned for all her friends, and probably visited the ones who wanted to be visited. If she found out her mimic murdered Rosy, then she's probably grappling with whether she's a sociopath serial killer deep down somewhere. She's also been trying to find an apartment and a part time job in advance of going to art school in the fall.

Fern went home with Plaid Dad. After what happened, all her siblings and their significant others came home to her grandparents' house. It was like Christmas all over again, there were way too many Mufferaws, but it was kinda nice. Now she's getting antsy

Liberty was probably the last student on the bus, because she was trying to walk around campus with some kind of scanner, measuring magical energy levels or some shit. Since then, she has been trying to document the Incident and write a scientific paper on it.

London has been complaining loudly about being home with her siblings and, once the school closing is announced, even more loudly about going back to Ilvermorny. But she has also been making little presents for her siblings, and also sending them out to her friends.
