WARD FAILURE RULES

The student body is oblivious to the fact that someone has begun researching and investigating the journal network. Their orders? Get access, don't let anyone know. Their attempts to do so will have unfortunate consequences for the student body.

HOW THIS WORKS

PLEASE READ ALL RULES CAREFULLY! We don't want to have to scold anyone for breaking them. :(

Starting tomorrow (March 7) wards will be potentially subject to failing due to MACUSA interference with the journal system. Their attempts at surveillance and bypassing the journal security will fail, but will also cause grave errors in the journal network.

MACUSA will not be able to gain access or read what's behind wards, but the contents of a number of warded conversations will be revealed on the morning of March 9. Martin Pratt will inform students of what happened later that evening. Following this, all wards will be secure again, possibly with extra security measures.

Any wards written on March 7 or 8 are qualified to have failed if all players involved consent. We're trusting you to get permission on your own, but if someone submits a ward for failure that you didn't agree to or feel comfortable with, inform the mods ASAP.

If you want a ward to fail, you must submit it to this post with the names of the characters involved, and a short, specific description of the content. This will let your fellow players quickly see what's going on for maximum drama! Don't be vague!

If your failed ward is directed at a large group, just so you don't literally have to contact everyone who plays a girl or every sophomore or whatever, you can simply add an OOC disclaimer that says something like "[OOC: If you reply to this post, you're agreeing to be part of a failed ward.]"

On March 9, we'll post an IC/OOC which will announce when the wards fail, contain a list of the failed wards, and provide opportunities to write scenes in the aftermath. Don't react to failed wards until this post goes up.

Any wards not on that list will be considered safe, normal and private. Please be responsible for yourself, both when it comes to submitting failed wards on time, and checking to see what wards failed that your character is allowed to react to.

In the aftermath, failed wards may not be replied to. Please create new posts to discuss the plot so we can maintain forward motion on the comm, and link to the failed ward in question. You'll thank us when you're reading the game nostalgically a year from now.

Until March 9, all wards will appear normal and functional. Again, do not react to failed wards until the mod post goes up indicating phase 2 of the event is in progress.

Any wards written on March 9 will be secure. This is so that phase 1 and 2 of the event don't overlap.

All failed wards must be started and submitted by Thu, Mar 8 at 11:59 PM MT. No exceptions!

You can forward-date failed wards today if your schedule's a bit of a crunch, but you may not backdate failed wards after March 8!

Don't be shy to ask questions if you don't understand the system, or think you might have an edge case!

also hey I would be cool with forward dating this starting tonight if you want since my schedule is kind of wack right now and we have a lot of very important topics to cover.

But I can roll with whenever it gets going, I'm bringing a portable charger to work so I can phone tag at every route stop over the next couple days and not die early.

YES let's! I'm going to be busy for the next......... uh 7 hours apparently but I'll try to get some tags out to you if you start something ;3;

or i can start something but i won't be able to do it until tonight

I've got a couple hours left on the road but I'll try to get something going once I'm off work!
