except that i'm watching a giant bomb video with justin and griffin mcelroy and i realized i've never seen what they look like before. and... this... does not compute. especially justin.

i tried listening to MBMBAM but it was hard because i was determined to at from the beginning and the beginning was R U F F. one day. one day. but curated content i will ACCEPT

omg it's reaaaally not necessary to listen to it from the beginning. i think they even tell people not to listen from the beginning because they made a lot of offensive jokes when they were younger D:

anyway i ended up just listening to MBMBAM through Youtube, a really great selection of bits is the site and you don't have to think about what order they're supposed to be in because it doesn't matter lol

Seeso sold the rights to the mbmbam show a few months ago and you can watch for free with ads at the new site now but I can't remember what the new site is. I will look it up when I get hooome. The whole series is phenom and also resume of the future is AMAZING.

iirc this is an example of a phonemic merger like pin-pen or caught-cot

for me, "our" read on its own is pronounced more similarly to "hour*;" conversely, when 'our' is used in a phrase ("this is our town"), it's pronounced more like "are"

* in northern ireland, this merger is totally complete and "hour" and "are" are pronounced the same

Side note about Ireland, my Irish coworker said whenever he was spelling stuff on the phone to American's he'd just think 'They're all pirates' so he'd pronounce 'R' correctly

day off update: i've knit so much that i started to get a blister on my finger and i hadn't realized that i guess i lost my knitting pseudo-callous? but it's ok because i put a bandaid on the finger and i can keep knitting
