you can "sit" a test in the united states but i feel like it implies a very serious test like the SAT or the bar

My friend Edward says "eat medicine" instead of "take medicine" because I guess that's how it's phrased in Chinese and he always says "technically, it's more correct" and I'm like but???

i think "pull one over on" is widely used enough that it's probably fine, but it seems like it's a mixed idiom of "put one over on" and "pull the wool over one's eyes"
