My friend Edward says "eat medicine" instead of "take medicine" because I guess that's how it's phrased in Chinese and he always says "technically, it's more correct" and I'm like but???

english is a stupid language, cheryl, stop DEFENDING it

It is stupid and we have the French to blame.

it just makes me so weirdly perturbed to imagine my pharmacist telling me to eat medicine

I'm p sure he had to adapt since he became a pharmacist

BUT I THOUGHT EATING MEDICINE WAS MORE TECHNICALLY CORRECT, EDWARD.

if somebody told me to eat my medicine i would try to chew it even though you don't always chew things you eat (HELLO, SOUP)

That was my argument (and the parenthesis part was his counter argument)

even if someone says "swallow your medicine" it's weird and too literal of phrasing.

or else it gets the hose again

take your medicine then take your exam.

counter-point: eat your medicine then eat your exam
