CHARACTER INTRODUCTIONS & PLOTTING

Hello everyone, and welcome (back) to Gooseberry! We still have a couple weeks until the actual game opens, but we anticipate a lot of new characters joining us.

RULES

So the OOC comm isn't flooded with dozens of new introduction posts, please introduce your new characters here!

Remember to put your character's name in the subject line!

You can say as much or as little as you like. Consider hitting the basics like, house, classes, clubs and year, then describe their personality and interests briefly. Mention what kinds of storylines you want (friends, enemies, etc.) and get to plotting!

Then go around and reply to other peoples' introductions, establishing lines and relationships.

If you have some plot you'd like to talk to people about that involves a returning character, comment here explaining what you're planning!

Be courteous and limit yourself to only one medium/small gif or image! We don't have cuts here, so be kind to your friends who might be on mobile.

IT'S MEGGIE. AGAIN. Spencer Sweet is a Coppertale junior and a member of the cheer squad! You can read aaaaaaall about him here.

Classes: [CORE] Charms, Hermeticism, History of Magic, Potions, Transfiguration [ELECTIVES] Astronomy, DADA, Magical Rudiments
Clubs: Archery, dance, cheer, drama.

Some quick notes on him:

Spencer's an aspiring professional figure skater whose career is on hold because he lost his temper and beat up a competitor backstage. OOPS. If your character's deep into the online figure skating fandom they might have heard of this, but Spencer hadn't yet achieved fame before being told to go focus on his education and cool off.

He arrived sophomore year. This is his second year at Gooseberry.

He has a nearly perfect autobiographical and photographic memory that makes school a breeze for him, but also causes him to be a little intense and hard to deal with in other areas. He can forget things, but hates it when people point it out and gets very defensive.

He's LOUD and puts his foot in his mouth a lot. But he's also friendly and warm if you can get past how intense he can be. Spencer doesn't relax and has a short fuse, but typically ends up falling back on altruism.

Spencer's very self-conscious and worries a lot that he's irritating. He can, in fact, be exactly that.

He's currently dating Micah St. Clair... but they're going to break up the first week of school. Their summer romance was very tumultuous.

Which means in due time he's going to revert back to his default stage: being a big dumb flirt and a trashy party boy.

I need friends! Past flings! Future flings! Enemies! People he's tussled with!

no it's totally true, micah's never going to make out with someone this hot again... unless we count hazel, then he is totally going to make out with someone hot like a day after you two break up

BUT UGH OK SERIOUSLY micah is very impulsive and self-absorbed, but i imagine he's going to feel bad about the breakup like... just as soon as it's too late to take it back, which i am sure will result in NOTHING AWKWARD AT ALL. it's a good thing they don't share 38 best friends and won't be making things tense during social gatherings!!!

THAT'S FINE. MAYBE SPENCER WILL GO MAKE OUT WITH SOMEONE HOT IMMEDIATELY TOO.

It's fine I'm sure these two very mature young men can handle this messy breakup and not make it agonizing at all to navigate the road back to friendship!!! But yeah Spencer won't want it to end, per se, but once Micah's crossed that line he's going to be super d o n e. He's too intense to take this lightly.

I initially thought Hazel was going to just remain pissed at Spencer forever but the more info I'm getting the more I'm realizing she might eventually just be like: ... goddamnit Micah. BUT SEPARATE FROM THAT I'm excited to play with him on cheer too ;o; COPPER CHEER 4 LYFE.

I imagine Ramon will try/has tried to kiss him because look at that cute face. Otherwise, though, he probably wants little with him to do outside of that realm because there are too many emotions going on.

Their relationship is a Disaster. Spencer will eventually chill out too, but when he and Micah were dating he was definitely jealous and uncomfortable with how, uh, close Micah and Hazel are. BUT CHEER COMES FIRST. NO MICAH DRAMA WHEN ON THE JOB.

Spencer will definitely make out with Ramon but yeah I'm pretty sure outside of mutual physical attraction, they will be oil and water.

I'm SO WORRIED ABOUT THEM :( But also... I def do not blame Spencer for not feeling the whole Hazel and Micah vibe. It's a weird one, and not great when you are dating one part of the duo. She'll maybe be a bit weird around him at cheer but she's not so blindly loyal to Micah that she won't recognize that he did some jacked up things. She'll extend an olive branch to Spencer for sure at some point, and won't bring up things at cheer practice :c

A+ Ramon smooches coming your way Spencer. Dating is dumb anyways.

HI ROOMIE. ♥ Spencer and Heathcliff are both a blend of friendly but potentially Too Much and I could imagine that working in favor of a friendship for them just because they don't overwhelm each other like they do other people and they can roughhouse and generally be as rambunctious around one another as they want. I hope they don't break things in their cabin too much but it seems like it must've happened. But let me know what you think! :) Regardless, Heathcliff definitely sees Spencer as a smarter guy and a guy who's accomplished a lot and he probably thinks he's really cool. Even if he's bad at archery. He'll probably be 100% on Spener's side when it comes to the breakup with Micah. SORRY, MICAH.

He's also in the same year as Cole and likely knows him through dance. Whatever he'd think of the space cadet. He may also know Lachlan since he's the Hermeticism TA. Lachlan will be a bit wilder at parties this year than last as he deals with his breakup and is maybe on the table for Grotto stuff and flings if Spencer has any interest?

I'm sad that Casper has PB overlap with him but not much else. :'( SORRY.

WOO ROOMIES ♥ Yes I agree! They're kind of on the same emotional wavelength and in the meme they're getting along really well. Soooo yes I agree they should for sure be friends. Spencer was kind of sullen about starting at GB last year but he I'm sure he warmed up fast to his roommates.

Spencer will like Cole just fine even if he's odd! Aaaand yes for sure I'm into that and so is Spencer! He's not going to have a Diego Meltdown (tm) but after his breakup he'll be looking for flings and Lachlan will be on his radar. ;*

And woo flings. XD I...apologize that Lachlan is borderline incomprehensible when he's drunk. But that probably doesn't matter too much.

SO! He's in Jade's year! She probably thinks he and Micah are pretty cute. When they break up, Azurcrest Bonds determine that she will Not target Spencer in her Torment People by Pretending to Want to Kiss Them Initiative. She might get teasing sometimes in other ways, sooo I'm sorry for her as always.

Someday when I make a fifth they will be a Coppertale so I have more to say in places like this oh no :(

Thank you Jade. :( Spencer probably likes her a lot, she's funny and clever. But he's also a big softie so when she's mean he'll make cranky faces.

He's also going to hit on Ferdie and Nia because he's a Bad Boy (... supposedly) and they are Good Kids (... presumably) and there's an appeal to trying to TEMPT the HB/HG.

Did I mention he's an idiot.

Good. Someone needs to. She will like him too, though! ALSO I stalked and saw that he is in Occlumency tutoring and right now Jade is the One Lone Soul in Occlumency proper as a junior. SO if he ever wants to practice and stare each other down while poorly trying to suppress emotions (This is how I imagine practice is done) that could be fun?!

AND ALSO OH GOD SPENCER. Ferdie! Did not sign up for this! He will be so vaguely amused. He and Nia will have to start flipping a coin to see who has to take points from him this time.

Lucas and Spencer have almost complete class overlap? So they will be seeing a lot of each other although Lucas' painful shyness may have kept him off Spencer's radar? My spoopy son likes those big personalities from a distance but is easily overwhelmed. His awkwardness will prob be amped up as a result of chickabro solidarity.

Nia likes his spunk. And is also a cheerleader. Please don't get in fights Spencer.

Nisha, as I mentioned, will be a bother. She may nag him about ice skating because hey you know what's better than regular flips? Flips on ice with knives on your feet.

Yancey is around here somewhere. :S

OMG he... probably knows a lot about Lucas by just picking up stuff and stuffing it into the bottomless pit of his memory even if he's never really spoken to him. BUT MAYBE THIS YEAR, HE WILL TURN HIS OVERBEARING GAZE ONTO DEAR SWEET LUCAS.

Spencer will be happy to advise Nisha but I'm not certain he will have a single good thing to say. HOWEVER, if she'd like to try out skating, he'd be thrilled to have someone to do flips with knives on his feet with.

As I just warned Lyss, Spencer @ Nia:

I am laughing really hard at Petty Crime Spree Sweet doing things and getting caught and then Striking Dramatic but Still Flattering Poses while Ferdie and Nia try to give him detention.

Lucas is adorable, his terrified eyes and big hair just draw in these rambunctious kids.

Spencer sees one of them coming down the hall and immediately undoes his tie and untucks his shirt. Did you know he SKIPPED A CLASS today.

SO Riley knows of him as being bros with Casey and from drama. She thinks you'll definitely be happier once you're back to being flirty party trash again, dude, come join her in the glittery trash heap.

Jeffy doesn't want there to be strife amongst his 39 best friends, but if his hand is forced he'll have his bro Micah's back. BUT YOU'RE STILL ONE OF HIS FRIENDS, by virtue of being the same grade.

Dinah calls herself an honorary coppertale cheerleader. Which is not a great actual overlap, but she knows him! OF him at least! SHE THINKS HE'S GREAT. He's probably in her comic book!!

Austin is overwhelmed by him sometimes but it's probably for the best. And Rosy is generally Aware of him but not much more and that's her own loss.

He's going to be jumping in with her in abouuuuut one week. Riley and Casey will be good influences I'm sure.

Spencer will be mad about it for a few days but he just doesn't have it in him to make his 38 best friends choose sides. :( So I'm sure they'll get along fine even if Micah and Spencer keep grousing at one another.

Dinah is cool!!! So creative!!! She can keep him up to date on the twists and turns of the Dinah Danger canon.

Cameron is also loud and straddles the line between irritating and endearing, and they're in drama together. They might get along!

I know Veritaserum meme isn't canon, but Fern and Spencer seem to get along p well. Even if he's sometimes a bit much, he's into bantering and doesn't get to upset at the kinds of stuff she says. Also, she likes his wardrobe.

Yeah I think they would too!!! Spencer thinks the Smooch Patrol is ~cool~, but either way I think Spencer will appreciate the company of some people who aren't so easily overwhelmed.

And yessss I agree. He thinks Fern's cool and does like her attitude. I imagine sometimes she can get him to puff up and get defensive, but it's totally toothless and he calms down quick. FRIENDS???

We already talked about Concordia so I'll skip her -

Isabelle is also a junior, and in Charms, Hermeticism, Potions, Transfig, and DADA with him so they share a lot of classes. She's also in drama so they share that, too! She probably knows nothing about his figure skating thing but his loudness would make her cringe a bit. However, she is also intense and not one to judge people on that so she might stick around to talk to him long enough to see he's also friendly sometimes?

Samantha is a junior as well, and shares Charms, Hermeticism, Potions, Transfig, and DADA with him. She's also in Archery and thinks he seems like fun. His irritating qualities would probably not irritate her all that much. She also loves a good flirt! However if he is outwardly self-conscious she'll probably eye roll a lot.

Avery and Oscar don't share much with him so I got nothing there.
