YEAR 2 PREVIEWS AND THOUGHTS

There are some things we're considering for Year Two, so keep these in mind.

NEW ADVANCED STUDIES

• Pre-Healer Studies: Taught by Healer Mufferaw, students will learn basic healing spells that they may use in-game.


• Muggle Technology Studies: Taught by Mr. Merrill, this class focuses on learning technology and will help guide scientifically gifted students through the tricky transition from wizarding schools to a muggle university. They will have limited internet access! Oooooh~

TEACHERS' ASSISTANTS

• This will be a system where some teachers may have a student that they turn to for extra help with grading, tutoring other students, and demonstrations in class.


• Students chosen will get random plot calendar events with their teacher, and will assist in teacher-led events. For instance, patronus lessons or when they host bonding.


• It'll be high responsibility and very time consuming, therefore no prefects or captains may apply for these spots (unless they're willing to trade their badges for it). Students chosen are considered to be at the top of their class, and get special attention and training in the subject.


• These will be chosen via application/petition.

CLUB PRESIDENTS

• Yes, Todd, there will now be club presidents.


• Club presidents will be expected to act as student leadership. They must be in good academic and behavioral standing with the school.


• Like Quidditch captains, club presidents will have influence over the activities of the club, which may be reflected in plot calendar events. Active presidents = active clubs! The mods will still run particular events, however, when it just makes more sense to do so.


• For instance, the Event Committee president will have first say over dance themes and content, but we'll probably have Calvin run the anonymous flower delivery event next year because that was madness. Complete madness.


• These will be chosen via application/petition.

We're still deep in the process of hammering out details about how we want the Year Two roster to look, and we'll let you know as soon as applications for these positions open!

Okay! ♥ Is anyone surprised that I'm that person? Probably not. So, my initial questions are:

1) Will Pre-Healer Studies and Muggle Technology Studies be available to Sophomores or just Juniors and Seniors?

2) Will TA and Club President positions be open to Sophomores or just Juniors and Seniors? (Or even just Seniors for the TA positions?)

3) If your character creates a club (like Wilde and the Gardening Club) will they be the first pick for president or will there still need to be a petition process?

4) ICly will the Club Presidents be chosen by staff or voted in by peers? I just ask about this because of the big deal some of the sophs made over ~having a voice~ and everything.

1) Pre-healer will probably only be open to Juniors and Seniors, Muggle Tech will probably be open to everyone.

2) Juniors and Seniors will be given preference, especially in high-responsibility/risk clubs like Duelling and Event Committee. But if there's a Sophomore who's very capable and passionate about Gaming Club, they may be chosen. Another note: if someone wants to app a new character as a club president, they'll need to write a petition when they apply. These spots won't be first come first serve.

3) If they create the club and it's approved by the mods, they will have the option to immediately become club president.

4) They'll be chosen by staff, sorry! The mods want to have control over spreading out special roles amongst players, and we also want to make sure that the students chosen are appropriate.

Will exchange students (or former exchange students who decided not to return? If that's a thing?) be able to vy for club presidency?

Yes, exchange students who have been at the school at least one year will be considered for things like club presidency, Quidditch captain, TA and prefect!
