Prefect Clarification

Just to clarify regarding the discussion here, it's my understanding that the prefects do nightly head counts/check-ins/whatever every night already. Is that everyone else's understanding as well? I was just assuming that people had dropped the ball last night, but I'm not sure now based on the conversations.

Hrm. It was my understanding that each prefect checked their cabin and reported to their senior prefect/Head Boy/Head Girl (just a quick: YEP. GOT 'EM) as appropriate? I thought this process had been referenced in-game, but I could definitely be wrong.

Yes, prefects do nightly headcounts at curfew and then report to senior prefects or the HG/HB. The degree of strictness varies from prefect to prefect, obviously, and sometimes people are missed or evade the count. Staff expect effort, not perfection, since teenagers can't control everything their peers get up to.

my assumption re: this specific situation and how Jaime got missed was that they do nightly check-ins and the Azurcrest senior prefects more or less trust the younger ones to come to them if they have a problem? Then Reece just passed out early

Cecil...may micromanage the bbjays a little more than that, honestly. He trusts them, but he also likes to be involved and he likes to make sure things are okay. Hence his response on the journal. He doesn't need the senior prefects in other houses to check in with him, but...yeah.

yeah there's a list of prefect duties in the faq

ideally yeah if someone's missing at headcount, you're supposed to... tell someone... but ooc if people decide to have their characters fuck off and evade curfew without notifying the person who plays the prefect, it's just kind of like... what can you do, lmao.

ICly ravi should've tried to stop jeremy from leaving the cabin (or at least, not allowed him to go alone), and if jeremy had disappeared, ravi should've notified cecil about it. but like..... we're busy, we can't be on top of everything, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i will additionally clarify, since people are always like WHO GOES TO BED AT 10PM!!!!!! about it, that the FAQ specifically states that you need to be in your campground after curfew. so if Ribbonfins want to hang out in each other's cabins or have a little campfire ghost story party until midnight, it's not against the rules so long as everyone STAYS ON THE CAMPSITE.
