YEAR TWO PLANNING QUESTIONS
The game will be entering its final stretch next month, with May and June as the final months of school, and July as the epilogue. As we announced earlier, we are going to have a second year of Gooseberry. This means we have some planning to do, and we need all of you to help us out. A couple notes on seniors and apps first, however:
- We will not be accepting any more applications as of May 1. Plan accordingly.
- As seniors will be leaving the game permanently at the end of July, we realize that the remaining, unplayed seniors have a limited shelf life.
- Therefore, we're holding a Senior Sale! Seniors half off! All seniors must go!!!
- Basically, this means that if you want to play a third/fourth character even if you don't qualify for one, or you already play two seniors, you can hold and apply for a senior anyway. The only limits that apply are 1) they may not be in the same cabin as a character you play, 2) they can't be on the same Quidditch team as someone you play, and 3) you still can only have 5 characters total. That's for your own good, trust me.

For mod reasons, and because we need to ensure that the Head Girl and Head Boy are always active and available, Mackenzie Prince will be the Head Girl for the 2014–15 school year. She'll be stepping down as Cheer captain. Sophomore and junior prefects will hold onto their badges as they step up a grade (unless they're swapping it out for a HB badge). Junior captains and all sophomore and junior Quidditch players will keep their positions.

- Ribbonfin Cheer captain: Gabriela Flores. (Milo is automatically disqualified since Callie already plays a Cheer captain. If no one is interested or suitable for the job, we may default to an unplayed name.)
- Coppertale Cheer captain: Hazel Keating, Casey Patterson, Coralee Wong. (Also Olivia Sanchez and Dominic Tremblay, but non-prefects will be prioritized.)

On every team, we've reserved at least one position for an incoming freshman-sophomore character. The rest of the positions are potentially open to a reserve player or an interested current sophomore character. Please note that open positions are not guaranteed to be filled by a currently existing character. We'll decide based on who's interested, and whether or not we think they're suited.

*There is a chance we will change or remove Quidditch players who are not apped by May 1, i.e. if no one is playing Holden when we move into Year 2, Ribbonfin may potentially get a new Seeker. You can try asking for these positions, but again, no guarantees. Marin is personally very fond of Holden and wants to see him grow and improve. :(
Questionnaire
Keep in mind for your answers that we'll be trying to spread out special roles among different players. So, for instance, if Reece is chosen as Head Boy, that automatically disqualifies Clem from becoming Quidditch captain, since JJ plays both characters. If Dom is chosen as Head Boy, that automatically disqualifies him from becoming Cheer captain, etc. Junior boys who are not Quidditch players will be favoured as potential prefects.
Please tell us if your character is on the candidates list and you do not want them to be considered for a special role. Please also answer if you are playing a non-prefect junior boy (eligible to become prefect next year), a Quidditch reserve player (eligible to move up to first string next year), a sophomore interested in trying out for the Quidditch team, or if one of your characters has a NPC freshman sibling.

Is your character trying out for the Quidditch team next year?: Are they currently a reserve? What position do they want? Please keep in mind positions are limited, and reserves will always be prioritized.
Does your character have a younger sibling who will be a sophomore?: What is their name? What house are they in? Please keep in mind, if their older sibling is graduating, new applicants are under no obligation to maintain your family history, and you may not put up a wanted ad for them asking for it. (For instance, Quentin Youngblood could end up from middle class suburbia with an interest in stamp collecting.) We therefore recommend that unless you or a friend plans on playing them, you opt to have them leave Gooseberry.
If you play a sophomore who will be a junior next year, will they be taking an Advanced Study? If so, which one?: Animagus Studies, Divination, Occlumency, Music, Pre-Healer, Muggle Studies. This isn't set in stone, we just want to get an idea of numbers so we can try to accommodate you. Please keep in mind that we'll have higher standards for who gets into Advanced Studies next year. (Note on Pre-Healer: This will be a class taught by Healer Mufferaw. It'll require students to be skilled in Charms, Herbology and Potions.)
If your character(s) are up for multiple special roles, which one are you most interested in?: For instance, if you play someone up for a cheer captain, and another up for Head Boy, which is more desirable to you? As always, no guarantees you'll get that one, but we'll take it into consideration.

All comments are screened. For some positions, we may follow up separately over email sometime between now and August (read: we won't be rushing our decisions). A final roster will be posted on August 1 (tentatively). ICly, Head Girl, Head Boy and prefects will find out about their promotions a week before school starts; and captains will find out they're captain on the first day of school, i.e. Sep 1.
We realize this is a long set of complicated questions. Don't worry, and please take your time answering them, you have a looooooong time and you can always come back and edit your answers. If you have questions or wish to talk about the roster, please see the OOC chatter post HERE.

If you share a dorm with a male junior prefect who might be made Head Boy, would you be open to your character becoming the new prefect?: I'm pretty sure Sy is disqualified from becoming a prefect, but oh god no, please not him. However, I'm open to Iliya becoming a prefect! He's not very warm or approachable, and he'd initially have a quiet panic attack over the added responsibility, but he'd eventually try to step up and do his best to take care of others. Iliya has a pretty good head on his shoulders, and is far better at staying calm and keeping his shit together when other people are freaking out. Assuming Kenzie and Casper were the HG/HB, Iliya would be very loyal and supportive to them both, since he loves them. :(

Is your character trying out for the Quidditch team next year?: Micah is currently an Azurcrest reserve, and would like that open Seeker spot. Although he has yet to play as a Seeker in a game because RNG loves Etta too much, his preferred positions to play are Keeper and Seeker. Although Micah doesn't have professional aspirations, he's been training pretty hard this year and will be making a sincere effort in the next few months to ready himself for Seeker tryouts. Iiiii don't really need to write more justifying this since reserves are shoo-ins~
Does your character have a younger sibling who will be a sophomore?: N/A but this will be the year Freddy Stoker is a freshman NPC. (:
If you play a sophomore who will be a junior next year, will they be taking an Advanced Study? If so, which one?: For Micah: maaaybe Occlumency? Possibly Muggle Studies once we've worked out all of the mechanics. (Two words: Internet access!)
If your character(s) are up for multiple special roles, which one are you most interested in?: I would much rather have Micah as Seeker than have Iliya as prefect.
