ANNOUNCEMENTS: Oct 20

LMAO HOW IS IT THE 20TH ALREADY. Okay, head's up: Marin is still on slow posting because she is a disaster of an adult (and also technically just started a new job, so).

• Regarding the rest of October, we will not be adding new events to make up for the ones which were struck out. A couple reasons: a) we figure the Pumpkin Carving Party, Costume Creation Party, Quidditch match and Halloween Dance will keep you all busy enough, and b) we need to slow down on creepy events to maintain the pace of the game. (But of course Halloween will not be devoid of creepy happenings!) We promised compensation, so if you lost an October calendar event and you did not already have at least two other events, you will get to see November's calendar a day early and sign up one of your characters in advance!

• For clarification, blank comments are considered "invisible" reactions and cannot be seen by other characters, i.e. icons do not exist in-universe, only text. Struck-out comments can still be seen and attributed to your character, though.


• Yes, strict curfew and the buddy system are still active! Quinn Cunningham has taken the initiative to post BUDDY SYSTEM SIGNUP SHEETS, which will go in the library and on the bulletin boards of all house campsites. Aaand she's posted about it right here!!!


• Okay, I need to spend this evening writing this weekend's Quidditch match and learning a new JS framework, so everyone tell me who your characters are asking to the Halloween Dance so I can figure out who my characters should ask. Feel free to use this as a plotting post if your characters don't have a date yet. I'm just nosy and want to know.

Also, Meggie would like to announce that she loves you and thinks you're all so cute, but I'm not adding it as a bullet point because I refuse to validate this gross unprofessionalism.

Sylla is dateless and will probably be surprised when she finds out its a date type of dance because she's too concerned with cleaning the fake blood out of her Marie Antoinette dress.

Wes ain't asking nobody because he's keeping his options open but this probably happens every year and he just goes stag so he can flirt freely. Also because all the prefects are coordinating and the only point of a Halloween date is to match costumes so nope.

And Holden gets hives about asking anyone to anything so he is free to be roped in.

UGH. I think Holden is adorable and I doubt they have EVER SPOKEN TO EACH OTHER but Holden is an Older Boy and a ~Quidditch Seeker~ so if he ends up needing a date, Essie is available to figure something out with. And then he'll have to put up with Mina breathing down his neck all evening.

Hilariously, Holden is on Mina's list of eligible boys. But if he goes with Essie, he is getting STRUCK RIGHT OFF and also the recipient of none-too-subtle death threats of what might happen if he touches one bleached hair on Essie's head. :|

AHHHHHHHH no pressure there. I kind of decided she should go stag since asking someone and then wandering off to chat up other girls all night is a dick move that I don't thiiiiiiiiiink is in character for her. She would do it to Ravi or Rafael if she was going as bros with one of them but not to an actual Cute Girl.

ROFL Essie would not turn down an invitation from Micah even though he is FAR TOO YOUNG to be on her list. But anyone who goes with Essie is probably going to be subjected to A LOT of awkward blushing if there's even a hint of date-ness.

Sun-mi is always up for making dramatically handsome entrances with Ravi. I would say that Sun-mi would ask Ravi first, BUT THIS SCHOOL NEEDS MORE BOYS WILLING TO ASK GIRLS OUT. WHATEVER. A reason to pester Ravi even more than usual at the dance is TOTALLY OKAY with me.

Essie is cheering you on, Micah!!! especially since Essie going with Micah would mean having to send death threats to yourself BUT only if Calvin really does want to go with him. LOOK this is just very confusing to be supportive on both sides.
