MEME: WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

HOW THIS WORKS

In preparation for the 10 Year Reunion next weekend, this meme is for you guys to plot out exactly what happened over the past decade.

Post your responses to the first header, but plot under the second so people can edit their responses!

Be considerate and mildly realistic while plotting! Obviously, we all want our babies to be successful, but the MACUSA president isn't going to be a 25 year old, and your junior Auror did not kill a dozen Dark Wizards singlehandedly to rescue Snoop Crupp.

What happened after Gooseberry closed?:
- Gooseberry Alternative High School was officially shut down, and remained abandoned for two years.
- It was then reopened as the Merrill Memorial Research Institute, which is a facility dedicated to studying the surrounding area and funding unique projects for the betterment of the magical world. It attracts many brilliant minds, and Mrs. Bloom is constantly flooded by applicants seeking funding and research space.
- Yes, you may say one of your nerds is employed there now.
- There's housing available inside the lodge where classrooms have been converted to labs and office spaces, but nature has reclaimed the campsites. However, plenty of employees Apparate into work instead, because not everyone wants to live in the middle of the woods.
- Despite all these years of studying the unusual forest, no one is certain what makes it so strange. There are rare sightings of a white moose, but no one can confirm its existence, much less whether or not it's the same moose as before.
- The school is definitely still littered with ghosts, though, and there's a dedicated ghost research wing.
- Ms. Lilywhite and Ms. Vector reside there as research staff. They are rumored to be a couple, but are both very private women, so don't try asking them about it.
- Mr. Elmasry and Dr. Perry are engaged and currently reside in Washington, D.C.

Name: Chad Winterbottom

Occupation: WizWideWeb developer for his dad's company
Residence: San Francisco, CA
Personal life: A! STRAIGHT! UP! DISASTER! Chad got hot as an adult, but his personality hardly shifted. SO he spent a good few years in Playboy Mode, but he's not great at that in the end. He dates around a little now. A few of his relationships have been pretty cute, but one(ish) was Balthazar by accident, so that wasn't IDEAL?
After Gooseberry closed: Chad's dad didn't want him going so far away. He sent him back to Port Prep, where he lasted just a total of one week. In that five days, he got shoved into a) a locker b) a dumpster c) a tree, where they found him trying to make friends with a songbird. Sadly, it for sure wasn't Elkey. But at the end of that time, Chad was able to whine his way to Ilvermorny. He was sorted Thunderbird, possibly, and didn't get shoved into quite so many things. By senior year, he had grown up, got handsome, and shot up to an impressive 5'11" , but sadly, his personality remained the same.
After graduation: Chad made up for high school by staying in California for college. He went to Magic Stanford and attended both the muggle and magical half of the university so he could learn both magic/no-maj technology. His dad kinda made him; he aced all his classes with relatively little effort, unfortunately proving for the first time that Chad was smart. He was kind of a party boy in college now that the popular kids finally accepted him into their ranks but boy oh boy was he still obnoxious.
Now as an adult: So when his dad started DATING (!) DINAH (!), Chad left California and took a job at a rival magic tech company in NYC. He stayed there for a year and a half and refused to talk to anyone from his family, probably including the friends who had so rudely betrayed him for the entire time.
Just kidding. He lasted a week before he was yelling into Dinah's phone about what a mistake this was every night. They didn't listen! No one listened! But he did really well at the company. During NYC stint, he also found Balthazar Doyle drunk at a bar on his first night in the city. Chad was (as usual) too good a person to leave him homeless, so he let him stay on his couch for the night and he just didn't leave? It was bad.
But it was also kind of okay.
So it was confusing, and Chad wanted to die, so he moved back to California with little to no warning, after pitching a dumb ultimatum for his dad to hire him back at salary and a half to what he'd been making before.

It actually wasn't his dad who made the deal, but Chad got it. He peaced out and sent Balthazar the offending couch in the mail.
He is single right now, thank god, and has come to terms with Dad-and-Dinah so much that he now pouts through family dinners.
Are they happy?:He's not NOT happy, and I think you'll agree that's the best we can hope for.
