MEME: WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

HOW THIS WORKS

In preparation for the 10 Year Reunion next weekend, this meme is for you guys to plot out exactly what happened over the past decade.

Be considerate and mildly realistic while plotting! Obviously, we all want our babies to be successful, but the MACUSA president isn't going to be a 25 year old, and your junior Auror did not kill a dozen Dark Wizards singlehandedly to rescue Snoop Crupp.

What happened after Gooseberry closed?:
- Gooseberry Alternative High School was officially shut down, and remained abandoned for two years.
- It was then reopened as the Merrill Memorial Research Institute, which is a facility dedicated to studying the surrounding area and funding unique projects for the betterment of the magical world. It attracts many brilliant minds, and Mrs. Bloom is constantly flooded by applicants seeking funding and research space.
- Yes, you may say one of your nerds is employed there now.
- There's housing available inside the lodge where classrooms have been converted to labs and office spaces, but nature has reclaimed the campsites. However, plenty of employees Apparate into work instead, because not everyone wants to live in the middle of the woods.
- Despite all these years of studying the unusual forest, no one is certain what makes it so strange. There are rare sightings of a white moose, but no one can confirm its existence, much less whether or not it's the same moose as before.
- The school is definitely still littered with ghosts, though, and there's a dedicated ghost research wing.
- Ms. Lilywhite and Ms. Vector reside there as research staff. They are rumored to be a couple, but are both very private women, so don't try asking them about it.
- Mr. Elmasry and Dr. Perry are engaged and currently reside in Washington, D.C.

Personal life: Married Iliya. Wilde officiated the ceremony and all the ESBs&Friends were there. They have kids at some point but idk if that point is now because idk the timeline? Tbd tbd.

After graduation:
Between Bloom’s connections and his mama’s connections, he got a recording contract right out of school. Apparently, some industry people had gotten ahold of his senior project album and thought he had a lot of potential. Like, they obviously didn’t want to put THAT album out, because it was way too esoteric. They partner him with a song writer, who helps him write a whole album of vapid, simple, catchy tunes. Afterwards, he goes on tour opening for Garth Squonk, to massive crowds. They market him with a whole boy next door, young male Taylor Swift kinda vibe. He plays with his mama sometimes. People eat it up. Basically, it’s everything he ever wanted/planned to do! Aaaand he discovers he super hates it! He hates everything about it. He wants to write his own songs! Being on tour with strangers is really lonely and he misses his friends! He still hasn’t dealt with endgame stuff in any kind of healthy way! All he does on tour is just sulk and party (which is a very Ebonhide combo tbh). Between hating his career choices and still not sleeping after endgame events, he’s pretty miserable, so after the tour is over, he just quits.

After that, he still has to figure out what to do with his life? And maybe learn to adult? He endeavors, for one, to learn how to actually take care of himself. He ruins a lot of loads of laundry, burns a lot of grilled cheese, discovers ramen noodles, kind of sort of gets into the habit of cleaning up after himself. He starts therapy, which he should have done July 2015, but better late than never. In the mean time, to have something to occupy his time since he doesn’t have school or a job, he volunteers with an after school music program for teens. And he LOVES it. So then he goes back to school to be a teacher.
Now as an adult: Now he teaches middle school music. He’s an enthusiastic, fun, well-liked teacher. He takes his teaching inspiration from Mr. Merrill ;-;. It suits him fine, because he gets to do something productive, while still being the center of attention.
Are they happy?: Very.

Anything else?: Because of the way he suddenly quit the whole famous musician thing, he continues to be plagued by rumors that he died, a la Steve from Blues Clues. People who haven’t seen him since school might be surprised he’s not dead. His students think it’s really funny and so does Ulysses, who is also basically a 12 year old boy.
