MEME: WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

HOW THIS WORKS

In preparation for the 10 Year Reunion next weekend, this meme is for you guys to plot out exactly what happened over the past decade.

Post your responses to the first header, but plot under the second so people can edit their responses!

Be considerate and mildly realistic while plotting! Obviously, we all want our babies to be successful, but the MACUSA president isn't going to be a 25 year old, and your junior Auror did not kill a dozen Dark Wizards singlehandedly to rescue Snoop Crupp.

What happened after Gooseberry closed?:
- Gooseberry Alternative High School was officially shut down, and remained abandoned for two years.
- It was then reopened as the Merrill Memorial Research Institute, which is a facility dedicated to studying the surrounding area and funding unique projects for the betterment of the magical world. It attracts many brilliant minds, and Mrs. Bloom is constantly flooded by applicants seeking funding and research space.
- Yes, you may say one of your nerds is employed there now.
- There's housing available inside the lodge where classrooms have been converted to labs and office spaces, but nature has reclaimed the campsites. However, plenty of employees Apparate into work instead, because not everyone wants to live in the middle of the woods.
- Despite all these years of studying the unusual forest, no one is certain what makes it so strange. There are rare sightings of a white moose, but no one can confirm its existence, much less whether or not it's the same moose as before.
- The school is definitely still littered with ghosts, though, and there's a dedicated ghost research wing.
- Ms. Lilywhite and Ms. Vector reside there as research staff. They are rumored to be a couple, but are both very private women, so don't try asking them about it.
- Mr. Elmasry and Dr. Perry are engaged and currently reside in Washington, D.C.

Name: Hazel Temperance Moss, nèe Keating
Age: 27
Occupation: Auror
Residence: Austin, TX ????? this is.. subject to change
Personal life: Very happily married to Nate Moss, Cole's older brother, for about 2 years now (they've been dating for a while, though). They have a one year old girl, Poppy, that Hazel constantly dresses in fox things. Unsurprisingly, she continues to try to mother Cole despite the fact that he's an "adult" now, and will continue to do so for the rest of their lives. They're family now.
After Gooseberry closed: Finished high school in an accelerated program over the summer + partway through what would have been her first semester (did... these kids actually get away with Ashcomb School? She found a real way to do this if necessary.)
After graduation: Spent the rest of what would have been her senior year trying to decide what to do with her life. Her uncle begged her to consider something other than being an Auror, so she went with her original plan of potions school for a semester during what would have been second semester senior year; this didn't stick (though she did get herself a boyfriend, Nate, out of it), and she started the next academic year at Auror academy. She put her all into catching up to some others since she had no real experience in dueling or Occlumency, and was incredibly busy while at the academy because of this and her own side studies around improving her healing abilities. She was probably cranky a lot.
Now as an adult: Hazel looooves being an Auror, and has remained chipper and friendly despite her intense job. She's been trying desperately to convince her coworkers to start a fantasy football league with her, but only two of them seem vaguely interested, and one other is clearly just humoring her. She's retained her protective streak and sometimes can take on more than her share of work because of it, though she tries to be as cautious as she can because she's married and has a kid. Viewed as a very competent Auror with particularly helpful healing skills, but a lot of people think she's maybe a little too smiley. Keeps in contact with a lot of the juniors, especially her closest friends, and visits her family frequently.
Are they happy?: Absolutely - she's gotten pretty much everything she's wanted out of life.

Anything else?: It took a tiny bit for her to recover from all the trauma of Gooseberry, but she's fit as a fiddle now, but doesn't just pretend like none of it happened. She stitches a little 'Y' inside of all of her uniforms for Yaeger, and she and Fern have a Fern's First Death Anniversary Party every year (I'm making this canon Cheryl sorry).
