MEME: WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

HOW THIS WORKS

In preparation for the 10 Year Reunion next weekend, this meme is for you guys to plot out exactly what happened over the past decade.

Post your responses to the first header, but plot under the second so people can edit their responses!

Be considerate and mildly realistic while plotting! Obviously, we all want our babies to be successful, but the MACUSA president isn't going to be a 25 year old, and your junior Auror did not kill a dozen Dark Wizards singlehandedly to rescue Snoop Crupp.

What happened after Gooseberry closed?:
- Gooseberry Alternative High School was officially shut down, and remained abandoned for two years.
- It was then reopened as the Merrill Memorial Research Institute, which is a facility dedicated to studying the surrounding area and funding unique projects for the betterment of the magical world. It attracts many brilliant minds, and Mrs. Bloom is constantly flooded by applicants seeking funding and research space.
- Yes, you may say one of your nerds is employed there now.
- There's housing available inside the lodge where classrooms have been converted to labs and office spaces, but nature has reclaimed the campsites. However, plenty of employees Apparate into work instead, because not everyone wants to live in the middle of the woods.
- Despite all these years of studying the unusual forest, no one is certain what makes it so strange. There are rare sightings of a white moose, but no one can confirm its existence, much less whether or not it's the same moose as before.
- The school is definitely still littered with ghosts, though, and there's a dedicated ghost research wing.
- Ms. Lilywhite and Ms. Vector reside there as research staff. They are rumored to be a couple, but are both very private women, so don't try asking them about it.
- Mr. Elmasry and Dr. Perry are engaged and currently reside in Washington, D.C.

Name: Jonathan Wilde
Age: 28
Occupation: Medicinal Research Herbologist & adjunct faculty at King's College Healers' Institute in NYC. He's been there for about two years. Before that, he slaved away at multiple degrees in San Francisco (BS in Herbology, dual MAs in Medicinal Herbology and Hermetical Arts or the wizarding equivalent w/e) aaannnnd I'm gonna say maybe completed an internship at Merrill Memorial! He's been really busy, basically. And very academic. Slightly more academic than he planned to be, to be honest (he was eyeing that magical private sector caaaash) but this is how it all unfolded.
Residence: NYC.
Personal life: Wilde dated Saira until the end of the summer before freshman year of undergrad. They've stayed in contact off-and-on since then and he considers her one of his closest friends. Wilde's been mostly a serial dater/monogamist since then, with one failed engagement of about six weeks before he and his betrothed, someone I haven't come up with a name for yet, realized they were making a mistake. He's been single for about two years now.
After Gooseberry closed: Wilde had a dreamy summer, then went to college and repressed that shit like a pro.
After graduation: See above!! Wilde took his full-ride at State Normal and rode it as far as he could, basically. Sometimes he feels kinda lame about doing EXACTLY what he said he was going to do at seventeen/eighteen years old, but he's good at what he does.
Now as an adult: Wilde has studied and published a lot and broken his back over his career. He's now in a place where he just gets to mess around in research all day, like he's always wanted. It's rad. Except for the couple of classes he has to pick up and teach every quarter -- he actually likes teaching, but it distracts him a lot. He also really likes New York, though he also does a lot of solo traveling when he can fit it in -- either to visit friends in other cities, orrrr just to adventure around wherever. He actually disappears semi-frequently on a lot of "extreme" camping trips and does some rock-climbing/mountaineering shit and herbology adventures in nature. It's whatever. And yes, he definitely still skateboards. Future career goals are a PhD (starting this fall) and maybe a cushy teaching or groundskeeping job somewhere one day. Write a book that changes the world. Y'know, whatever.
Are they happy?: 80%. You can't expect Jonny to ever be fully happy.
