- What happened after Gooseberry closed?:
- Gooseberry Alternative High School was officially shut down, and remained abandoned for two years.
- It was then reopened as the Merrill Memorial Research Institute, which is a facility dedicated to studying the surrounding area and funding unique projects for the betterment of the magical world. It attracts many brilliant minds, and Mrs. Bloom is constantly flooded by applicants seeking funding and research space.
- Yes, you may say one of your nerds is employed there now.
- There's housing available inside the lodge where classrooms have been converted to labs and office spaces, but nature has reclaimed the campsites. However, plenty of employees Apparate into work instead, because not everyone wants to live in the middle of the woods.
- Despite all these years of studying the unusual forest, no one is certain what makes it so strange. There are rare sightings of a white moose, but no one can confirm its existence, much less whether or not it's the same moose as before.
- The school is definitely still littered with ghosts, though, and there's a dedicated ghost research wing.
- Ms. Lilywhite and Ms. Vector reside there as research staff. They are rumored to be a couple, but are both very private women, so don't try asking them about it.
- Mr. Elmasry and Dr. Perry are engaged and currently reside in Washington, D.C.

i think Sy is likely to stick to pro quidditch for as long as possible so he may actually still be playing now? but looking at retiring in a few years. maaaaybe they got engaged about a year ago but they're delaying on the actual wedding planning bit??? no kids but definite commitment to training any children who cross their paths into being quidditch playing machines
