• Balthazar's doing just fine! He's not as worried about the Strangers or the Aurors as any rational person that understands consequences probably would be, his peers are still a constant source of entertainment, he thinks he's Turned A Corner in his relationship with Hero because they did an artsy project together (he has not), and he's ready to watch his classmates fake-kill each other later in the month. Good times!
• While he's not that concerned about the Strangers, he has been spending a decent amount of time with the other Artificing students trying to figure out a tool to identify them. He's mostly doing this because he doesn't want to be shown up by Essie. Sorry he's an idiot.
• Despite frequently proclaiming that relationships seem like the worst and genuinely not wanting to be in one, he's weirdly invested in Rupert working things out with Iggy. Go figure.
• Part of him still wants to go to Logan just because Rupert told him not to.
• Balthazar is still a little more bothered by Miguel's assertion that he can't be an artist because he's a robot and he has no feelings than he'd like to admit. Beep boop. :(
• Boy just wants to have fun and make jewelry.

Looking For: Anything, really! Bal's got a few close friends but he could use other friendships, he carelessly flirts with enough people that he probably ought to have some fallout at some point (people thinking he's really into them or people getting pissed off with him over it or whatnot), people or situations that can force him to show he's not as shallow or detached as he seems (at least not all the time), etc. I'm up to discuss whatever.

Mostly this is because she was blindsided by what happened with Spencer and Ira and she is feeling extremely foolish for not seeing that (and very embarrassed she said anything to Spencer at all). She's also struggling with trying to help Miguel and Quentin to stop fighting but she knows that they are keeping a lot from her and sometimes shutting her out. Nonetheless, that does not stop her Prefect duties, she's just maybe...a little harsher than usual as of late.

Current State: Gwen has not changed much since January-ish, after the mimics came into the Lodge. She's been quiet, withdrawn, spends most of her time in the Artificing shed working on her projects, and only comes out for classes or extracurriculars. She pretty much sticks to other Big Fish for escorts to and from places (she asks Ennis the vast majority of the time). However, Gwen has been showing a somewhat reckless disregard for this rule and has sometimes been walking by herself back to the cabins or to other activities.
Looking For: Someone to call Gwen out on her hermit work and also for ignoring the rules (hint: she's going to be very unGwenlike and fight about that). Maybe some more lines with other senior girls? I kinda wish Gwen had more girl/girl friendships to rely on, since she and Avery keep screwing things up (sorry, Avery!).
Anything Else: She and Webster are maybe dating? Kinda. They don't even know what's going on.

• Turns out she is like Danny's best friend or something so I just have multiple characters happily poking about the Rosy/Danny situation sorrysorry.
• I'm honestly not sure where her brain is re: the metaplot since she is mostly just engaging in silly convos at the moment and I need to backtrack and figure out what info has gone out to non-prefect-y Seniors buuuuut she's an auror wannabe so she does care more than she lets on.
• Her sister is getting married to Dead Leo's brother at the end of the month sooooo we're gonna do a free-for-all party for that or something!!!

• While Sandy has some concerns about the strange goings on around Gooseberry, particularly because the Big Fish have had more than their fair share of mimic-related hijinks, he's mostly keeping a cool head about it. Any damage that can be caused by malicious gossip and misunderstandings, after all, can be resolved by talking it out and there's always something odd going on at this school. He's careful and he wants people to be safe, but he thinks everything will work out, especially with Ferdie in charge.
• He's generally content but a little restless while he waits for things to happen. When will the lake thaw? Is it time for Spring Break yet? When will he stop having a little tiny definitely not a big deal crush on his ex?
• He really doesn't want any Big Fish left behind over Spring Break. Come on, guys! It's your very last Spring Break! Please go have fun! This is particularly true of Gwen, who he's now a bit worried about.

Looking For: Anything~ Sandy is still new enough that I'm trying to figure out his voice and his place in things, so more interaction can only be a good thing. She's sad about not catching enough Snitches, and has kind of got off the high horse she was on after getting the house team spot. Otherwiiiiise, she's okayy, and actually, her newfound actual aspirations have kind of cut down her participation in Sophomore Scandals. This is a little sad, and she should probably get back into that.

She had fun at the formal and found Making A Little Effort paid off! Cool! (Self Confidence Level Here=like, 6). So if she crashed/burned somehow at the next kissing games...I wouldn't be upset.

He's got a lot to think about in the aftermath of the eavesdropping, the Strangers messing with Todd and Ira (though he still doesn't know that a mimic pretended to be him), and the MACUSA agents taking such a direct interest in Cash. He's willing to help his bros and try to figure this out, but he's also worried that they're going to get in over their heads and that other people he cares about (like Fern and Pandora and Phoebe) might get dragged into it too. This is a lot, guys.
• Heathcliff cares about Fern so so much and it's gross. ♥ Unfortunately, this means he's also having a minor crisis about the Amortentia thing and his short-lived revelation that he needed to dump Fern and prove his love to Phoebe instead. What did you think was going to happen, Heathcliff? He hasn't told Fern about this and feels guilty about it.
• He needs to check in with Pandora soon. SORRY KAY. What a shitty brother. :o
• He really just wants to think about Quidditch and parties and stuff. When did life get so complicated? He's ready to get wasted on St. Patrick's Day.

Looking For: I'm...not sure, actually. Maybe more play with Copperquid or with other junior boys (because, apart from his roomies, he doesn't have many connections there)? More collaboration with Div Kids? He's pretty certain that his divination abilities are LEGIT at this point because he's made a number of specific predictions (the Anon visit being the most recent), but he's frustrated by the lack of clarity in what he sees and how it often ends up being useless. What's a wannabe-seer to do?

• Learning about Archie's family predicament recently spawned Marie's very first grown up thought!!! Awful. Just awful. Acknowledging harsh realities is not Marie's strong suit, and in a SHOCKING TWIST, she turned to music and not like, ~divination~ or whatever to cope.
  
• Marie isn't a liar exactly, so much as she is extremely good at convincing herself and others that her idealised version of the truth is an accurate representation. She almost always buys her own shit in the end, so you'll never catch a confession out of her, but if you ever need a character to twist a situation juuuuust a little, feel free to say Marie was involved. Especially if you want a rumour to get more dramatic with every retelling.
  
• Archie's potion was supposed to make her feel love and instead it just made her want to kiss Tally super badly!!!!!! Sad!!!!!!!!! She didn't even feel that different than normal. :( Marie..... has........ big emotions.
  
• Speaking of, she and Tally raced to see who could kiss the most senior girls at the last party and I like to think she checked a good few names off her list. If you particularly want to opt your character in or out of Marie's thirst quest, just lmk.
  
• It's probably time for me to spin the wheel and pick a new obsession for her. I am open to suggestions.

• Re, his particularly involvement: logical brain says any appearance of fixation on him is either manipulation or error on MACUSA's part, but narcissistic teen brain said "what if me and why :o"
  
• He doesn't know that Grimshaw read his mind, but @ any campus Legillimens: Cash regularly thinks what you're doing should be illegal and that maybe you should go to prison for life.
  
• Cash isn't known for being a risk-taker, but tbh, that's because nothing the juniors have done so far have been sufficiently motivating. He's still a Coppertale; he will do and has done dumb shit to get what he wants. Poking the MACUSA bear has piqued his interest.
  
• Older stuff: Some of his gender shit leaked out to his cabin mates and honestly, I don't know if the CJBs ever got a #confirmation about the situation? Cash kind of shuttered down when they tried to talk about it. He, uh, really does not want to discuss it. Passive aggressively not acknowledging a problem is the Holcomb way. Maybe they'll just forget. Maybe the next time MACUSA puts him in a tent, they'll teach him how to Obliviate before they wipe his mind, and then he can do it to his friends. That would be nice.
  
• He does not know how to help Calvin. Actually, he came away from their convo kind of kicking himself because he felt like he overshared without providing concrete solutions, and usually he knows better than that. Alas, he's not actually a robot, so not everything he does can be perfectly executed. Unfortunate.

• His home situation is Not Good, but improving it has caused some chaos and uncertainty that Archie's not ready for. I don't think he's going home with his dad this break, and might end up with the wizarding equivalent of CPS until everything gets sorted out??? I don't know how this works but I'm going to do my best to research lmao.
  
• This does mean that he'll be available on the journals over spring break for once!!! Maybe he can even go to a social event...? Or maybe he'll be a hermit to avoid the attention this might draw to his personal life.

• Tiger Voltron. Even a fake obsession with Chad brought Dinah and Nisha closer together somehow.
• Hype for Quidditch!! It's easy to keep distracted when you're on two teams and looking to impress scouts.
• Nisha is full of SECRETS this month. Number One being that she's spending spring break at the Circus Nox. It's likely only her roommates know about this - possibly just Dinah. She's not being generous with the info and if she does mention it she tries to frame it as "A Cool Trip To Roxie's Circus" instead of "I am running away to the circus to avoid spending one minute longer than I have to at home." As spring break gets closer, she'll probably start mentioning it to more people. She hopes Kaspar adopts her.
• Secret Two is that even though she knows the ONLY WAY to find happiness in romance is to fall in love with a bird, she's gone and gotten herself a serious crush on Archie. Nisha believes pretty firmly that it's one-sided, and even if it isn't, has some anxiety over him discovering something "wrong" with her and then losing him as a friend. She's coping with this by pretending that things are SUPER NORMAL!! And also DEFINITELY helping Archie with ALL of his romantic pursuits!!!! And then getting MAD JEALOUS and wound up over it.

• Lachlan is...surprisingly okay? While the encounter with the Stranger last month shook him and he doesn't feel as secure as he used to about the MACUSA agents being able to control the situation, he still has enough general faith in authority to believe they'll do the right thing and he's been keeping himself busy enough that the worst of his anxieties have been kept in check. He's been doing a lot of Hermetic research, trying to figure out identification spells that he can alter to help the Artificing students with their efforts, and he's been trying to figure out the spellwork behind the journals for similar reasons. This makes him feel productive and productive is good. Apart from that, there's been his teaching assistant work and tutoring schedule, his classes, his clubs, and spending time with Yancey. When he's even got time to worry? Okay, he still does, but it's manageable. Mostly.
• He's considering reaching out to someone for Defense Against the Dark Arts practice, but he's hopelessly intimidated by Ms. Lilywhite, Casper, and Sylla. So. Maybe not. He's notoriously bad at the subject and tended to choke when faced with any sort of actual threat. It stressed him out so badly that he had a panic attack before the exam last year and dropped the class this year.
• Lachlan is all kinds of smitten with Yancey and it's ridiculous. He feels like they're dating but he's still trying to take things slow so Yancey's comfortable and he won't say that to anyone apart from Addy for the time being. He's really happy about how everything's been going with them, but still a little hurt by Ennis' insistence that they don't fit or make sense as a couple. He assumes this was just the result of Ennis taking Amortentia, though, and tries not to dwell on it.
• He survived his cheerleading debut! Accomplishments!
• Spring is approaching and he is ready for all the migratory birds to start coming home! Should they have a going away party for Thor?

Ira's been a lot more tuned in to metaplot lately, following his own attack during the lock-in, and then the Cash incident last week. He was a lot more scared after being attacked. The Cash Thing at least gave him some direction for his anger. He leans anti-establishment on the best of days, so I fully anticipate he'll jump head-first into whatever stupid Fool the Aurors plan they end up working out.

And actually, this direction will probably end up being a good thing, because now he won't feel the need to act out so frequently.Sooo now he's turning slowly around into a Good Kid and might even earn points this month.MAYBE???

He was kissattacked by Spencer and now they are going out, and he was so confused but ultimately, happy. I am sorry if they are gross now.

But the alternative to this was him slowly falling into the deep depths of Sloot Valley and who wants THAT. (He was already starting and already Pretty Bad at it)

Which she thinks means "cool I'm back to normal now everyone!!!!" because she's a dumbass, but her moods are volatile, and she's not exactly the most cooperative therapy patient, so she might just drop herself off a cliff soon.

The Future is Looming and every once in a while she plays with the idea of "what if I went to _____ for school instead of staying in LA" and then she feels bad and won't let herself actually think about it.

I did not actually expect her to get a crush on anyone this year and I'm embarrassed that her taste is so predictably bad.

Current State:

• Lucas is a cat, meow, and he's keeping the information under wraps at the moment. Only Jade and Bash know. Originally he didn't say anything to keep from getting in trouble over his Ornery Oak re-climb, but now he's just kind of enjoying the cat-based anonymity. This is...the main reason I'm filling this out for Lucas, bc it's prob important to mention that his ability to transform is not common knowledge. I plan on having him cat around in some IC/OOCs in the future.
• Lucas is very anxious over everything that's going on with the mimics and MACUSA!! Which is not surprising!! But unlike last year, where he just immediately wanted to drop out and go home, this year, he's ....obsessively trying to figure out ways to fix it. SO. HE HAS A LOT GOING ON!
• Over-committing himself to anything metaplot related. But, particularly, anything safety-related. Self-defense stuff, etc. He wants to make sure that everyone has a fair shake at defending themselves from mimics. That's why Ariel's going to get a letter whining about Bash's lack of self-preservation instincts. (No one talk about his own lack of those, thanks.)
• He has a lot of Feelings over this whole "Recruiting ghosts to spy on MACUSA agents" idea, largely because he cannot believe he actually came up with it, but also because it's a dumb dangerous plan and what on earth are they doing but it's the only way maybe?? And if it works??? He came up with a Good idea????
• Getting involved in a lot of research. Will be hunting for information during break, as well, with some other kids.
• Especially receptive to conspiracy theories, right now. Does Not Trust The MACUSA. Thinks DJ Grimshaw is some flavor of Evil.
• Is going to adopt Jade permanently and Ari temporarily over break.
• Lucas and Bash are going to spend the next 5 years debating how they should split their mirrors. Also, the junior bonding opened the flood gates and they're going to be super obnoxious.

Looking For: Does anyone want to have a run-in with a cranky gray not-quite-a-kitten scottish fold? OTHERWISE, I'm always looking to do stuff with other Auror Wannabes and the Junior Class in general and etc etc. If you want to do anything with Charms or research-focused stuff with metaplot, we can work on linking up and Lucas sharing his research if he comes up with anything?

• Pear just had her Best Month Ever!! She got her siblings to throw flour at each other, injured her brother during hockey, and got to go on a date with a spider!!

• On the romance front, she still has a thing for Quentin but she's also quite enamored with the idea of dating a spider. Not that she is.. doing anything about that but she got jealous when Cole was professing his love for Jonah.
• OH GOSH. I almost forgot that Pear got a letter jacket thanks to Vee and she is being utterly insufferable about it to London and Yancey. I'm sorry.

Around the Ilvermorny game, Jeffy's gonna get the attention of a professional team or two (I haven't decided what teams or where or what, NOT THAT IT MATTERS), and he'll consider going down the pro sports path for, like, a couple minutes. Eventually he's going to pass it up, but not until after somewhere between one and seven Chickabros (+ Essie) convos in which they lose the thread of what they were discussing no less than one dozen times.

• Eventually his intensity and jealous streak will catch up with him but for now things are fun!!! Honeymoon phase!!!
  
• He needs to start thinking about his future. He's come to accept that he and Ruby just can't do pairs skating. She's too tall, he's too short. :( But he wants to keep trying, so needs to go solo. Eventually, he'll have to break it to his friends that this probably means dropping out of high school.
  
• He's worried about Ruby. He's glad she and Madison aren't fighting but also is exasperated that they're both still Just Friends.

Oh hey guess who got one of the leads in the school play???? A total dumbass. Cameron basically has to trick her into learning her lines, but if anyone has the ability to do that and not lose 100% of their patience, it's probably Cameron. But she's also running around doing an absolutely awful Cockney accent half the time. Hopefully I remember to write it out at the next Grotto party or any other IC/OOC she's in, because that is my gift to you, the game.

He has this Felix Felicis and he doesn't know what to do with it, what is he supposed to do with it? What if he wastes it??

He also just won 54 dragots for guessing Grimshaw's first name?? What the fuck???? Is he?? Supposed to do with this???

My current plan for both of those is for Austin to take his Felix Felicis on maybe St. Patrick's Day (though I'll put up a post for it probably the night before? if I can think of more things to do with it than just this), hustle a bunch of rich dumb seniors in poker at the party, then drink too much but not get a hangover. Also ideally his flirting will work for once in his life and he'll make out with Todd after winning like 200 dragots from kids who didn't even know how much they had in their pockets before the party.

He's probably not going to stay at school over Spring Break but I can't decide who I'll leave instead :|a
