course instructor. i never heard it before starting at my Now-School but i think it's standard enough for those who teach in post-secondary

but i'm also making that second part up. I BELIEVE IT MAY BE BECAUSE my Now-School has A LOT of courses taught by grad students, so it's ... no i can't remember where that logic was supposed to go. said logic was also informed by how students at this school most often seem to call the CI "professor" instead of "doctor," and i think THAT'S because of all the grad students, but i... don't know how it feeds into the term "course instructor."

i'm just a cog in a really big wheel that i don't understand and i've accepted it.
