CHARACTER INTRODUCTIONS & PLOTTING

Hello everyone, and welcome (back) to Gooseberry! We still have a couple weeks until the actual game opens, but we anticipate a lot of new characters joining us.

RULES

So the OOC comm isn't flooded with dozens of new introduction posts, please introduce your new characters here!

Remember to put your character's name in the subject line!

You can say as much or as little as you like. Consider hitting the basics like, house, classes, clubs and year, then describe their personality and interests briefly. Mention what kinds of storylines you want (friends, enemies, etc.) and get to plotting!

Then go around and reply to other peoples' introductions, establishing lines and relationships.

If you have some plot you'd like to talk to people about that involves a returning character, comment here explaining what you're planning!

Be courteous and limit yourself to only one medium/small gif or image! We don't have cuts here, so be kind to your friends who might be on mobile.

Jeffy would have been pretty open about telling Reece about it, but since he was a dreamer for most of the time, the main thing he saw was Ghost Dad. And, like, if he just focuses on how AWESOMELY THEY BEAT GHOST DAD and not on the fact that he wasn't there to help his friends and they had clearly been through SOME KIND OF HELL then he feels great about it!! He swears!! No guilt here!!!

Rosy is going to be kind of closed off on the topic. She won't act like she's hiding anything and will answer any questions anyone has, but she won't go in depth and discuss things like FEELINGS. She's Not Happy about coming back because she doesn't trust that it's Over and now they've brought Baby Freddy along to Ghostberry?? Fuck that shit. She also sometimes convinces herself that the rescue was part of her own dream (after Anon showed up behind them and the party split, THEY COULD HAVE GONE INTO DREAMLAND) and she is the weirdo who sometimes has to get up and, like, check to make sure everyone is still around her. ... Which is basically all stuff she won't tell Reece, but she might tell someone else who was in Hell with her. And also a thing for her roommates to know, I'm sorry she's such a clingy weirdo y'all.

I was also trying to figure out how to work out a senior project around patronus protection, SO I'm glad you mentioned that so I can make sure rosy's covers a different aspect.

And Riley is fine and fucking dandy with it all, she just got to sleep in a field with some butterflies like fuck yeah.

Also I would love to retcon dream hopping with anyone? Jeffy would have honestly loved both Clem's and Todd's (hi everyone, Jeffy loves things!!). He and Todd could have done dumb dream things in the treehouse. What do you do in treehouses? Aside from jump out?

Kenzie's going to try and mitigate some of Reece's strictness. She's severe because... that's her personality, but she's more interested in Azurcrest safety and damage control. As long as no one's in tears, it's probably okay. But... she did have An Experience in the nightmare world that did change her a lot, and she's not especially good at relating to people in the first place. BUT I'M REALLY EXCITED TO SEE HOW THEY FIGURE OUT THEIR CO-PREFECT DEAL.

Calvin doesn't know what he's gotten himself into. I'm sure we can all trust Todd and Calvin to have measured, reasonable discussions about this delicate situation. He likes Cash a lot but he has a history of not knowing how to handle Todd very well.

And... I promise Archie will be better behaved for the team than he's being on the meme.

PERFECT, so much grump business. Phi will appreciate that she's not all sunshine and sparkles. (Also, I'm excited to bug Rosy with Hazel for hockey!!)

Annnnnnd Phi will desperately try to keep Austin away from all her plants. She would be willing to initially try to help him, but eventually she'll just be like: just don't kill any of my shit, dear god, you disaster. Re: my comment on Austin's, I hope they super amp up each other accents.

Riley you're gonna kill her, and... Jeffy and Dinah will stress her out, but honestly she'll probably be a little fond of Jeffy because he's a ridiculous boy.

1) I'm hoping to bug Reece more with Jaime this year! Especially since he's going to be a little unsure of how to handle being captain. What is actually being responsible for other humans?? Help help help!! He'll also be totally open about talking about his experiences and would tell him everything if he asked because he somehow can just kind of... make all of that ok in his head. And he's going to try Really Hard to be good this year :( He loves Reece a lot.

2) Roomies with Cleeeem ♥ I don't have anything to say for her. Just. Ebonhiiide

3) Todd is lined up in Hazel's sights as a smoochable face! She'll probably be especially looking for faces with the situation Micah is going to be in, oops. She'll also be a little extra attached because he was on the rescue list and guess what, she is not as over the End Game shit as she acts. Ramon will... continue to be an ass to him. Sorry, Todd :(

4) As with Todd stuff, Hazel will also feel more attached to Ari. She'll probably have a few missteps because any attachment feelings to Ari are new (like, she might ask her stupid questions about feelings that are invasive!! At least there won't be Veritaserum!), but she'll definitely be a little more chatty with her. Ramon still enjoys Ari as a human! And is still available for bearding if desired - he likes her enough that he'd agree at least for a bit.

oh gosh no i definitely like him very much and i am super excited to be forced to deal with him lots. and thank you i have to be on the road early tomorrow for work but my coworker has promised grisly true crime podcasts to make it more bearable. I HOPE YOU HAVE ESCAPED WORK BY NOW.

Oh god this is really long. Sorry.

So Reece-wise, we talked about he and Yancey potentially being friends. Yancey only has the vaguest (and probably wrong, depending on what his sisters gabbed to him) idea of what happened during Gooseberry Hell so he's coming back pretty ignorant. Curious and confused and maybe a little worried? He might see Reece's having distance from the events as making him safer to talk to about it? Like, Yancey wouldn't want to dredge up trauma for the people who had to go through it.

If Reece wanted to talk to Lucas about what happened at all, Lucas wouldn't want to discuss emotional impact, but he could rattle off a play-by-play of most of what happened to the Search Party. He'd leave out some details. And it might be obvious during a prolonged chat that he kind of dissociates from the experience and he miiight be a little fucked up over it. Which ... would probably not be terribly reassuring to Reece.

IDK if Reece would go to Nia at all for woodstalk, but she would generally be open about most of the stuff in the mines (excepting the whole revealing your faults thing) and would be ... not reassuring that everything is safe, but generally confident in the present safety of the forest. Nia would not want to talk about any of the dream stuff or Sylla waking her up, etc.

CLEM-WISE, Nia purposefully did not do a lot of dreamhopping because she was happy in her dream, but I think it'd make sense to say she would've gone looking for her roommates at some point and maybe she hopped into Clem's dream for a while? Or Clem could've dropped by hers. EITHER WAY. They should've dreamhopped and dropped in on each other! And fuck yeah bearbeque.

AND I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ELSE except to say that I hope Lucas and Ari can interact more in year 2, just in general.

I actually don't know how like... reasonably possible what Reece and Ulysses want to do is? So maybe they can kind of sub-collaborate with Rosy to come at this idea from different angles to maximize their success chances. or maybe like they could work together doing research and stuff and then split off into smaller groups to create their final projects or smthng idk

JEFFY AND TODD FOR SURE! A treehouse full of GBHS's most eligible bachelors! He was mostly eating snacks and playing N64 games up there

I'm really excited to see how Reece and Kenzie do as co-prefects this year

1) YES I'm sorry I kinda dropped the ball on roomies stuff with Reece last year but we should definitely do more stuff with them this year! Reece like... honestly wouldn't know where to start with a Quidditch team but he can... try to help?

3) despite being a big whiny baby Todd really does appreciate Hazel & co rescuing him, and is of course always willing to mack on her

4) HAZEL SHOULD DEFINITELY BUG ARI. She'll hate it lmao but she might like... tentatively put up with a little nonsense from Hazel since she likes her now. and Ari's deep in the denial phase so she may try to earnestly date Ramon and realize 5 seconds in she just like can't do it. maybe they can have a heart to heart after their 3 day romance

OH RIGHT THAT'S TRUE THANK YOU FOR REMEMBERING THINGS ABOUT MY CHARACTER. They thought they were rid of him but surprise he's still here. But YES, Calvin will be at the Grotto party if Todd wants to track him down. He wooooon't be expecting it.

YES Yancey and Reece should definitely be friends. I can't even imagine what it'd be like to have been an exchange student last year and just come back to like... all this. but Reece will try to help him get caught up with it all

Reece would appreciate the play-by-play from Lucas! He's kind of gone like full detective mode about what happened. He needs to know.

I'm not sure it would've been his instinct to talk to Nia at first, but he'd be more interested in it now that she's going to be the head girl, so maybe we can have them talk about it after the school year starts too? I don't know exaaaactly how he's going to react to how everyone else is reacting to this yet, so it'll probably be best to like just see how that plays out. He'll definitely have a hard time just... getting his head around it all though in a way that imagine will be frustrating both for him and everyone else lmao

Yesyes I would love to actually play it out!! Ferdie is trying to be as Level Headed as possible about this entire situation, but may have taken be brave a liiiittle too much to heart, especially after Not-Micah reminded him how weak he thinks he is. He knows it's all still serious and will TRY not to be too cavalier about it, but...sorry Reece, if he is. He WILL NOT encourage or handwave the safety of forest parties still, TO BE CLEAR, NAUGHTY KIDS :|

But yes anyway. Oh god I flaked major big time on ALL my dreamers stuff so I wouldn't have been great at responding anyway, but YAY I am glad they got to go on an imaginary drive togetherrr. I don't know how much she'll address it this year, but will mainly be focusing on making sure the people who were most affected are okay so she might touch on "hey remember when we visited while asleep. That was weird, right." It will be v casual it's fine.

♥ SHE IS GRATEFUL FOR THAT, ARI and will just be over here learning how to exorcise ghosts from her brain obsessively, please pay that 0 attention.

The number of nights Katie and I have stayed up all night talking about characters is gross

1) Pshhhhh I've dropped the ball on so many things... RP life is hard. But yeah!! There will just be a bit of fussing on his part because taking care of himself is enough of a chore, and I think he's really going to take this as an adventure in semi-parenting. Maybe their cabin won't give him too many headaches!! Since the sophomores are gonna be nightmares :,)

4) IT SHALL BE DONE! Hazel is a twit but at least coming from a good place, I guess? She will... probably pry a bit. And I'm totally down for a heart to heart with Ari and Ramon if that comes around. He'll be his usual 'dude who gives a shit just do whatever you want' self, but he'll try to be a little nice about it since he likes her. Kissing girls is great Ari, it's fiiiiine

Every time Reece plays Buzzkill Azurdad, Rosy will feel slightly better about her baby brother bird being under his wing. NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO HAVE A GOOD TIME.

The Stokers are going to work on their project together too because they can't do anything alone, so between the four of them they can probably make something truly mediocre.

Jeffy and Todd played Goldeneye and ate bagel bites and had a very enjoyable playdate y/n
