HOLDS OPEN TOMORROW

Hi everyone, these are your mods speaking! One final announcement before holds open and we begin our approach into Y2. Please put your seats in the upright position and put away your tray tables.

• Holds open tomorrow at 8 AM MT! You've all been given proxy holds if you expressed serious intent to apply as a character. Just confirm it with us by commenting to the hold page tomorrow.


• There will be a character introduction post for new characters on Aug 16, so we don't clog the OOC community with intros.


• If you have permission to hold a second character, you may do so after you submit your first. Only those with special permission may hold a second character before Sep 1.


• If this will be your fifth character, you may make a hold now and submit your 5th character petition after. Your petition will need to be approved before we accept your app. If we've put up a proxy hold for you, you may submit your petition now.


• Processing new characters will take precedence over processing resubmissions.


• There will also be a voice-testing Veritaserum meme on the 16th that's open to all new and returning characters.
  • While you may play on it if you haven't resubmitted your returning characters, you still need to resubmit them by the end of the month or they will be removed from the game!
  
  
  • The Veritaserum meme will be strictly non-canon. If you use the information you learn there in the actual game, we'll give you a rap on the knuckles for infomodding.

i constantly want to apologize for my characters having crushes on other people's characters

I always Worry about making my characters have crushes (because what if the player doesn't want that or it feels like it's coming out of nowhere or etc. etc.) and so I often just fail to pull the trigger on them. ._. Regrets always.

IN MY EXPERIENCE, people are basically always very extremely flattered if your character has a crush on theirs.

I've never once though UGH THIS CHARACTER THINKING MINE IS CHARMING AND ATTRACTIVE IS SUCH A PAIN.

BUT it still makes me so scared to admit one of my awful kids wants to throw themselves at Anyone else's EVER
SO they're all suppressed and weird which would be most likely be true anyway

NOW I feel bad because my characters are basically Crush Central and constantly making awkward advances on the people they're into or otherwise embarrassing themselves.

NO ONE EVER FEEL OBLIGATED TO RETURN MY CHARACTERS' AFFECTIONS.

I LOVE ALL THE DUMB KIDS AND THEIR DUMB FEELINGS and also (obviously) i enjoy embarrassing my characters for fun and profit but sometimes when Romance comes into play i'm like

ohhhhhh my goddddd i'm sorry i'm so SORRY @ both the target of the crush and also my character for revealing their Deep Dark Horrible Secret

LET ME MAKE AN ADDENDUM, AS I STAND BY MY POINT THAT ANYONE WOULD BE FLATTERED IF ONE OF YOUR LOVELY CHARACTERS WANTED TO SMASH FACES WITH THEIRS...

You're all nice people who'd never put the pressure on the other player OOC, and you all obviously worry a lot about respecting boundaries. You don't have anything to worry about. Even your trashiest child is a gem and at least one other person (probably more) has imagined their character making out with yours in detail. ♥

levi was easy because at the start of the game his crushes were like... everyone. indiscriminately everyone. so gross flirting was just a character trait and nobody was really singled out until their characters were receptive to it. (charlotte is/will be this to an extent)

but with other characters... like YEAH DEFINITELY, i am terrified to pull the trigger because i don't want anyone to feel pressured to have their character return the feelings/enter a ship with my character.

it took me til yesterday to flat out say "ennis has a crush on jaime" and i still want to hide my face in my shirt when i think about it
