IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

• We've made it so that exams will take place over the course of two days. We don't really want to torture the children with 6-9 finals in one day.


• Details on senior projects are incoming. For the record, you don't actually NEED to do this, and no character in this game is so flagrantly awful that we'd ever want to force-fail them. You're the one who decides if they flunk out or not, but we're assuming everyone graduates regardless of whether or not you came up with a sweet idea for a fake project. If you genuinely have no idea what to do, don't worry!


• We're still discussing logistics, but the graduation ceremony will take place off-campus, which will allow for parents, friends and family to attend. Students will then return to Gooseberry for the last night at school, collect their things, say goodbye, and nothing bad is going to happen to anyone ever. Have a great summer, kids!


• Soon we will be opening applications for NPC mods. NPC mods will have limited control over certain NPCs during the endgame event. This is so that M&M have more time to run the actual game and control the atmosphere of the endgame adventure. Details will be available within the next few days.


• Tomorrow's water balloon fight will have teams that are divided by year and not house! Show your soph/jr/sr pride! Will the senior class's collective breakdown fuel them on to victory? Will the ruthlessness of the juniors be exactly what they need to pull ahead? Or will the power of love secure a win for forty best friends??? ONLY RNG WILL TELL.

We've been discussing this! The answer is... we're not sure. However, if you would like your character to be up for valedictorian, please reply to this comment with why they should get it. We have a short list of characters who we figure qualify, but we should give it to someone who wants that plot.

Rafael - example.

So like if I wanted it to be Rafael (I don't) I would be like... yeah so he's got great grades and he's a prefect. He's typically very well behaved and he's active in a bunch of clubs. Like he did the flower delivery thing. He runs barre. YOU KNOW. ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND WHAT HAVE YOU.

at the high school me and cam went to there were 27 co-valedictorians with perfect GPAs in our class of ~150

ravi probably qualifies for valedictorian because he is real hardcore about his academics (nine classes!!!) and he's in a ton of clubs and also he's a prefect

but also i don't want this for him, please god free ravi from being incurably boring. give this to like ivy or quinn or some other total badass in senior year

I started to write a "fuck it why not" petition for Nate and immediately felt bad for ignoring him all year. I'm so sorry Nate, you coulda been a contender.

I told Kas we were going to do this together, so I’m going to POWER THROUGH my self-loathing for never paying attention to my poor firstborn babe.

Nate has very good grades! Wait, no, he has perfect grades in all nine of his damn classes because he turns his Ebonhide-level intensity toward all things academic. He cares more about his grades than he does himself. He lives in that library. Any time he isn’t being actively played (always), he’s just in the library (and also a lot of the time while he is being actively played), going over his homework, studying, making awesome new study keys.

He’s also a prefect! A prefect who allows haunted dolls in his cabin but don’t bother me with details. Haunted dolls need homes, too, you guys. And he’s well behaved, because, as a member of the Platinum Trio, he can do no wrong you guys. Nathaniel David Bird listens to his mothers like a good Ebonson.

There are a couple people where I went “oh he could totally have been a tutor/study buddy for them!!” in their intros and then never followed through on, so in theory he squeezes in time to tutor students but in practice, lol.

His greatest accomplishment this year was being there to disappointedly shake his head and round up terrible children who went sledding on Azurcrest hill and broke all of their limbs.

Also he’s kind of maybe based on a dog I had in high school and that was a very good dog.

I’m so sorry I’ve been such a terrible mother Nate, you’ll be free of me soon my serious child.

I AM SURE THIS WILL BE LONG BECAUSE IT WILL BE WRITTEN BY ME. it's a Real Problem we all know i have.

• Academics! Quinn's worked hard af since day one to get top o' the class grades. There's definitely a library seat with her butt imprint in it because ~she lives there.~ Yes, there are two classes that she has trouble with, but thanks to TUTORS (YAY CECIL) she's persevering and succeeding! She also tutors other students in classes that aren't hellish. Like Zav! In Hermeticism!


• Prefecting! She's been one for three years! In Azurcrest! Which should say something! She wants to help keep the students safe. :( PLEASE stop going into the woods. :(((


• Clubs! She's in them!!!


• Things to make life easier! She does things like the Buddy System sign-up sheets, which helped students find people to walk home with so they were safe AND following the rules!


• Shinny! HA HA HA YOU ALL THOUGHT YOU WERE FREE FROM HEARING ABOUT HOCKEY, DIDN'T YOU?! But for two years she and Chris have developed & run the intramural hockey league (he focuses on the skills boot camp while she focuses on the season matches). It was very important to her that skill levels and houses were evenly spread across teams so players could have Fun. She hopes everybody had Fun. :(


• Teaching people about athletic crap! Is something she has a bossy passion for! Over the winter, she taught Casper and Reid how to skate in the early mornings so they could play hockey without lookin' a fool. Now that winter's over she's put her claws in a number of sophomores interested in Quidditch, and has been teaching them how to use the weight room properly and responsibly. She's so proud of them.


• A lover of the arts! She does this kind of bullshit all the time.


• I have no idea if her senior project counts but I'm putting it here anyways! Because she's been working on it since she was a wee freshie and her post-school plans have always included finding a way to manufacture it at as low a cost as possible so it can be distributed to people who might be in need of it. (In case you don't know what it is, it's a fancy magical first-aid kit with expanding charms that is hex-proof and all sorts of good, overachieving shit.)


• if she gets chosen she will make rafael read her speech beforehand so he can limit the number of pop culture references and sports metaphors.

Work will not free Marin from its evil grasp so!!! An updated exam schedule will be posted shortly. It'll still be just over two days, maybe three, but it's a very tight schedule and I can't really devote that many days to bullshit exams which we're not even going to RP out. So please just do your best to PRETEND that it's not totally sadistic that the teachers are forcing you to do like four exams in one day.

OH YEAH FOR EXAMS there will not be any bullshit rng games. i mean, i thought about it, but i think my characters would legitimately have a panic attack if they didn't manage a 4.0 GPA and i'm not going to subject them to the whims of rng
