UPDATED APPLICATION FORM

Big news!

• We've updated the APP TEMPLATE for Year 2, for those of you who want to get a headstart on updating your apps. As previously mentioned, all characters must update and re-submit their apps to be accepted for Year 2. We will be opening apps in mid-August, and everyone must submit by September 1 or be cut from the game.
  
  • We will have more information on Pre-Healer Studies and Muggle Technology Studies... later. Probably not until after June. Just keep that in your back pocket if you think your character would be interested.
  
  
  • On History updating: No spoilers, but June endgame is going to be a significant event, and you may have to put thought in explaining why your character chooses to return to Gooseberry. We've been trying to figure out how to minimize the "but how do I convince my parents to let me go back" aspect, but there's only so much we can do without losing realistic consequences. You guys wanted the spooky plot, so figure it out yourselves. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  
  
  • I want to emphasize: if your character is already currently in play, you are unlikely to be rejected for Year 2. All we want is a) more clarification on things we think are important (character skills, why they're taking an advanced study, etc.), and b) for people to spend more time fleshing out their concepts, if they haven't already. Our bigger concern right now is raising standards for new characters. If you've got questions/concerns, please feel free to ask us below.


• We will be emailing people this week about Head Boy, Head Girl, prefects, Quidditch players, and captain positions. I know we said you'd have until the 10th, but at this point, we have enough information to make final decisions. Applications for TAs and club presidents will remain open, as we're not in a hurry to choose those yet. (Although we will say that a Potions TA has already been chosen, so you don't spend time writing an app for that. Everything else is still open!)
  
  • Thank you to everyone for their thoughtful petitions for the above positions. It's sadly impossible for us to give everyone what they want, but we want to say that every choice we've made was very carefully considered for IC and OOC reasons. We've been going back and forth on all the various scenarios for days, if not weeks. It was not easy! But we hope, even if you're disappointed, that you'll respect we had our reasons for choosing as we did.


• The Year 2 roster will not be posted until August. Sorry! We really need to focus our attentions on finishing up June, and we'd rather avoid letting players get attached to a name and then have someone beat them to holding it in August. That said, we will provide the following details, since they're relevant to current characters in updating their apps:

    Natalie Prince, Ribbonfin. (Sister of Kenzie.)
    Marie-Anne Tremblay, Ebonhide. (Sister of Dominic.)
    Quentin Youngblood, Coppertale. (Brother of Robin.)
    Karen Zabinsky, Azurcrest. (Sister of Oscar.)
    
    If you wanted to change your sibling's name (Lyss?), please let us know very soon or else we're going to consider these set in stone.
  
  
  • Also, the following characters have been pre-emptively held for players:
    
    Clarence Giganti (Ebonhide sophomore), for Aleena. If we don't receive an app by Sep 1, we're removing this name from the roster.
    Lilika Ignacz, for Aleena. Do not leave us Aleena we SWEAR TO GOD
    Nisha Lewis, for Jenny. If we don't receive an app by Sep 1, we're removing this name from the roster.

Yes, they do! Animagus Studies still teaches complex Transfiguration concepts in senior year. Additionally, we don't want to allow any players to have more than one Animagus.

You can ask us now on the Dropbox*, if you want! But there's no rush. We'll be accepting re-apps for Y1 characters before we officially open apps for Y2.

*I know there are several people waiting to hear back about updated PBs and I sweaaaar I'll get to you eventually. :'(

I just wanted to thank you guys for the clarifications, which are helpful to anxious bods like me! <3 I will probably start working on the apps in a locked post over the weekend so I'm not rushed over August.

Additionally, thanks for adding Dom's sister to the list of siblings - I'm grateful and 100% around to talk if anyone is potentially interested in her!

i am aaaaabsolutely agonizing over revising my characters' concepts I know SO MUCH more about them now and they've grown SO MUCH how can i possibly fit them into 10 word blurbs anymore ;-;
