Casper Kim

Classes: Charms, Hermeticism, History of Magic, Potions, Transfiguration, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Astronomy, Occlumency
Extracurriculars: Quidditch (Beater), Dueling & Fencing, Boating
Current State: The week leading up to Spring Break was eventful for Casper (he hasn't gotten that drunk at a Grotto party or played kissing games or any of that in a very long time) and the actual break itself had him happy for the first time in a long time. He was able to put everything aside and enjoy being back in California, spend time with friends, and just stop taking the world so seriously for a few days. He was also able to visit his mother in the hospital for the first time since the beginning of the school year (because her declining health prevented him from going home during winter break), which was something that he desperately needed. He came back to school feeling recharged and in uncommonly good spirits.

Unfortunately, last Tuesday, he was notified by Ms. Rhee that his mother had died in the hospital. This was immensely difficult for him to hear and he spent the night in the infirmary after being given a calming draught by Mufferaw. Then he left on Wednesday to go home for the funeral and he'll be gone through the beginning of next week. The official line on this is that he's away for family reasons and only the people that he warded on Tuesday know what's actually going on. This is a difficult time for Casper, but his mom has been cursed and basically lost to him for a long time, so once he works through the worst of his grief and his pain he'll find that there's a sense of relief there too. Because he's been carrying the burden of uncertainty for a long time and because now he knows his mother isn't potentially suffering anymore. It's a complicated situation and he's going to be relying on his friends a lot when he comes back.

When he is back, he'll promptly begin pushing himself too hard in an effort to remain busy and keep himself from having to think too much. This is what he did back in December too, but enough people are aware of this now that it probably won't go too far again. The next month will probably be bumpy for Casper, with good days and bad days, but he'll be all right eventually.

Looking For:
✦Junior Friends: Maybe? Casper is close with Asher, Rafael, Leo, Diego, and other seniors. AND THEY'LL ALL BE LEAVING HIM NEXT YEAR. Currently, he's friends with his cabinmates, but his connections to the rest of the junior class are limited. And he dislikes a good number of them too. So I'd like to start exploring options there, like: re-connect with Sy! develop closer relationships with fellow prefects (specifically Nia and Addy?)! other things!
✦Caring People & Tactless People: Casper won't be saying much about his absence to anyone that wasn't warded the other day. However, if your character is empathetic and concerned about him there could be some opening up if Casper is caught in the right mood. And if your character is the type to push carelessly or be a jerk about something like this, that could get a reaction too. He won't be lapsing into violence again (~that was a one-time thing~), but it's a good way to make Casper an enemy. And he holds grudges.
✦Occlumency Tutor: Casper works very hard in Occlumency...but it's still not his strongest subject. And it gives him headaches. And he hates it a little. If anyone realizes this and wants to reach out to him, that could be a thing!

Bianca Dubois

Character Name: Bianca Dubois
House and Year: Ribbonfin, Sophomore
Classes: Charms, Herbology, Hermeticism, History of Magic, Potions, Transfiguartion, Magical Rudiments, Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Extracurriculars: Event Committee, eventually LARPing.
Current State: She's still new so this is probably useless, but ever since she went to the Saint Patrick's Day grotto party she's beginning to do things are slightly out of character for her. She'll attend more parties, probably drink the stress of school away, and make-out with people during games and whatever. She's also noticing boys again and it's making her suuppppperrrr uncomfortable 'cause SHE AIN'T GOT TIME FOR THAT.
Looking For: I really just want more people she's close to and can talk to about anything. She still feels a little out of place here, but that's probably just be being anxiety ridden and paranoid. I'm also all for really awkward encounters and stuff that goes down at parties. She also had a boyfriend briefly at Ilvermorny during (I THINK) her third year, but he figured out he was gay and everything went really awkward from there. If anyone ever wants to add that to their history for a current or new character, I'm down.

Even if she does NOT hug him as threatened,yes, there should totally be more Casper/Addy stuff.
She may spidey sense that something is not quite right even though of course she does not know details and magically appear to study next to him or something, which is probably how she befriends quiet people.

Current State:

• Not exactly sure where he is re: Garrett & awkwardness. Largely confused by this. Pretty sure Gavin still wants to murder him. Some weird combination of confused, anxious, apologetic, and irritated about this. Really wants his cellphone to work so that he can text his sister and whine every five minutes.
• In direct contrast to the whining: He's feeling a bit self-conscious over whether or not he's annoying to other people. And so he's trying very hard to be a bit more contained and quiet. That's mature and not insane, right? This is not within his skill set. So - it's not really working. Maybe he'll actually try not dying in LARP. Maybe that's a step in some direction?
• More Sophomore shenanigans. They are all adorable and I want to watch them exorcise forest demons and launch new civilizations on the moon or something. Their child-gang is my favorite.

Looking For: He's always looking for friends! And situations to be a complete and utter social disaster in.

And awww~ That could definitely be a good start and her spidey sense is totally reasonable in this case. He will be acting a little different once he comes back, at least for a while. Additionally, maybe we could pair them on a Potions project or something? Force some one-on-one time? Just a thought!
