HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE ♥

To kick off 2017 with some questionable decisions, our marvelous moms have entrusted crazy Callie with a fifth character! I know, I'm not sure why they're so awesome either, but I'm super excited to bring in a BABY RIBBONFIN. Who can also help me break into all the prefect fun. ;) So without further ado, let's get to Mr Milo.

Facts (tl;dr):

-Milo is a Sophomore in Ribbonfin, and also a prefect.
-I relied heavily on the Zodiac sign "Cancer" (my sign) as inspiration when creating Milo.
-Milo was born completely deaf, though he can read lips LIKE A BOSS, and has a Cochlear implant.
-His parents tried to fix his hearing when he was a baby by taking him to an experimental healer. It didn't work out.
-He and his dad have fiddled with his Cochlear using sound amplifying charms and created a potion that kind of helps amplify sound so he's not COMPLETELY helpless.
-This is the last he wants to speak about his special needs (but it's totally a thing to bring up)
-Enjoys comics, especially anything Marvel or DC, and video games, particularly Mario but really anything.
-Likes his routine, but is also outgoing and can play at being spontaneous (meaning he'll do the fun thing, but stress about it internally)
-Can be quite moody, much like a mercurial sea, but is a good kid who is really just unable to properly articulate feelings.
-Is an artist, and loves painting/drawing.
-Is outgoing, but also needs time to "recharge" after too much stimulation.
-Key tratis: Emotional, brooding, nurturing, protective, rooted in his ways, possessive, and social.
-Pretty goofy, can be awkward, not overly smooth or charming but he does alright.
-Plays the drums and wishes his parents would let him have a motorcycle.
-Milo presents as charming, carefree, independent, but he is also exceptionally sensitive and prone to impulsive judgment more than he'd care to admit. His emotions are always on his sleeve, though he doesn't necessarily know how to deal with them (retreats when he feels overwhelmed)
-Can have a temper, and while sweet is a little difficult to get to know truly.
-EXTREMELY adept at non-verbal spells and wandless magic. His father taught him non-verbal because Milo (while he can speak) doesn't really talk so pronunciation is an issue. He also figured wandless would be useful since Milo uses his hands to speak a lot.
-Is a huge fan of pretending he can't see you trying to talk to him or get his attention if he feels so inclined. Because he thinks he's funny.
-Loves that he was trusted with being a prefect because it means he's not any less than any other student, but he also likes having fun and being accepted. So. He's got some work to do on sticking to his guns.
-His familiar is a hedgehog named Sonic.

I don't know how I know that, and it is 1000% irrelevant but there you go.

But he looks so cute!
Ferdie is obvious here because yay Ribbonfin prefects! I think they would get along really well actually? Ferdie would obviously try to be his Prefect Dad since he's a whole year older. And understand when people present nice but are actually impulsive. And he would like his hedgehog. And he would think wandless magic is so cool and will probably want to learn.

The actual Leo probably has vv little to do with him.

And of course Addy will think he's adorable and be very Addy.

He is quite cute, but also probably going to be a brat. He's a teenage boy, after all hehe Ferdie and him should totally be friends. He legit thinks Ferdie is so cool and wise and awesome because HE'S ONE YEAR OLDER. So. They can be bros. He can play with Sonic and will teach him some wandless (though he's not as good with that yet as he is non-verbal, he does alright)

Addy is love. Addy is also probably like, heart eyes emoji to Milo because he's easily wooed by pretty faces. But he will be content to be big-sistered by her.

BRATS ARE FUN!! But yesss friends with Ferdie, please :D He will not be wise, but he'll totally pretend.

Leo would be nicer if he knew they were secret brothers. He promises.

I am now comparing their icons, it's crazy.

FRANK IS SO EXCITED AND NO ONE ELSE MATTERS.

She's so stoked to have someone to over-enthusiasticlly sign at.

Because, holy hell, she is good at lip-reading but not NEARLY as good as he is. And her hearing aids still hate her sometimes.

He might try and help tinker with hers the way he and his dad did with his Cochlear. But he's not nearly as cool as his dad is, so.

Never talking again. Official speech boycott begins now.

He should talk to Trixie. She is the queen of human experimentation.

He wonders how long they can make that last.

Oh he's gonna. She's too amazing to pass up.

Okay, yeah. She DOES like talking. But she feels like they could sustain this for a while. Complete silence. Only hands. They've got this.

SO MOST RELEVANT TO MILO IS CALVIN.

Calvin was a pain in the ass last year. :( He was very mean and difficult and icy and hard to handle, but he's since gone through a lot of personal growth. Now he's settled down to a more tolerable abrasive and whiny. I imagine last year there was a lot of arguing, but this year... idk! Calvin could still be crabby at him, or if you want, it's also not impossible to say he's been defrosting towards Milo. Cole's been pretty successful in getting him to chill out about his roommies.

I was totally thinking he and Milo might have had some issues last year. Milo isn't super patient or tolerant of attitude and meanness, so. I think it would be safe to say they're building up to a better relationship (with Cole's help, no doubt) At least they haven't fought big time this year type deal? lol

He and Hazel have some classes together (potions, herbology, charms) and she's a cheerleader too so she probably yells all kinds of shit talking stuff at him during games and doesn't care if he can hear them or not because it's the principle of the thing.

Also she is tactless and will probably kind of seem insensitive about his hearing because she won't view it as any sort of disability, just a sort of difference about him - like she'll ask questions, will maybe tease him a bit about it if it doesn't seem to upset him (she will apologize if she does and say something equally tactless like: I don't care that your listen holes don't work right bro!). Soooo I vote AT LEAST some ridiculous interactions.

Asher is a Ribbonfin senior but being not a prefect he rarely meddles in the little Ribbonfin's lives unless they seek him out. He's probably not overly interesting to Milo lol

That is so amazing, I love her so much. Like he'd totally see her doing it and just smile and point to his ears like 'what???? CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER HOW AWESOME I AM'

Milo would actually kind of love that. He hates people treating him differently, so. This would be refreshing. Ridiculous interactions are a must too. Just know he won't hate her or think she's tactless. Unless he's in a less teasing mood lol

Ooooh shiny! Yay! I feel like you know my characters well enough by now to guess how they'd interact, but I have QUESTIONS!

1) Does he have any feelings about how people speak about his hearing, if it comes up? Like, would he prefer to be referred to as Deaf with a capital D or does it not matter? Would it make him mad if people said he has a disability? Etc. I just know Cricket would be very on point about that type of thing.

2) Can Jesse and Milo be unlikely gamer bros?

I DO! I know your amazing babies so well and love them ♥

He doesn't have any issues with what term they use or how they refer to him (whether deaf or hearing impaired etc) HOWEVER, he doesn't like the disabled label. So they can write it or mention if however but do not say he has a disability or handicap lol That said, he'll look up to Cricket XD

SO. out of mine, Rosy and Jeffy would be most likely to know him! Rosy probably overbearing grumpy moms him because Rosy overbearing grumpy moms most people.

And Jeffy is another sophomore! HE PROBABLY OVERWHELMS YOU SOMETIMES MILO, HE'S A LOT OF ENERGY, I'M SORRY. I'm pretty sure they have a bunch of classes together, I just can't be bothered to look at Jeffy's schedule. I know they have at least a FEW, SO HI. WAVES ENTHUSIASTICALLY.

In Frankie's intro I mentioned Kurt's probably super into the idea of ASL, but if he and Milo do end up being friends then Kurt would have maybe tried to get Milo to teach him some?

BABY RIBBONFIN!!! ♥ Pippa will be friendly! :) She is super impressed by his ability to do non-verbal spells and wandless magic.

I'm not sure how much overlap my others have with Milo, but he and Coralee are both in Drama and rival cheer squads. OH and if you want Milo to have attempted to flirt with either Coralee or Etta, be my guest~
