With the flood of new players (hi! yay!!), I thought it might be nice to have a concise place to talk about our character's relationships. The Winter Formal is coming up, you guys!!! Honestly, I just didn't wanna risk stepping on anybody's toes in my OOC attempt to fill people in or Cricket's IC attempt to relinquish her Queen Meddler Crown to Bae. I know we just did a Wanted Lines meme and we have lots of intros to sift through, so this can be very brief. Basically, just include what you think a student who reads the journals regularly/has working eyeballs would know about your character's relationships so far.

The Messy Bits: Is kind of intense about crushes on people when they get big enough, like embarrassingly so. Has probably seriously hurt someone's heart with his awfulness at least once. Is easy.

Notable Past Relationships: She kind of dated Sy for a little bit? There may have been other noticeable periods of flirtation with other people over the years and making out at parties and such, but never a ~real~ ~anything~
Current Relationship Status: Single.
The Messy Bits: Everyone knows about the Iris+Amortentia stuff. Everyone knows she has a crush on Wes. Everyone has witnessed her awkwardly dealing/not-knowing-how-to-deal with these things.

FYI, I don't think I ever shared this with you explicitly, but Cricket has some ~feelings~ about all this. Lemme know what you think, but in my headcanon Maggie's wife (and son--probz) got along really well with Anj throughout school, because you can't really maintain a serious relationship if your Stage 5 clingers friends hate your girlfriend. But as things got more and more serious between Maggie and Anj, Cricket started being a little more distant a la Diego (though with GRACE and TACT, unlike our favorite dumpster fire).

Point being, Cricket was struggling with lots of jealous feelings toward Anj, which she attributed to romantic feelings for Maggie. For a moment there at the end of Junior year, she was pretty convinced she was in love with Maggie. But she put on her big girl pants and did a really good job of keeping her composure. Then she went away to London for the summer to research for her Senior thesis, but also to ~soul search~ She was involved with a girl in London and pretty cruelly used her to experiment and sort out her feelings for Maggie (sorry, currently nameless British lady).

Long story short, she realized that she enjoyed sexy times with this particular British lady, but she couldn't see herself having that kind of relationship with Maggie. She wants to hold Maggie's hand and kiss her on the forehead and tell her all her deepest darkest secrets, but she doesn't want to have sex with her. SO! She came back to Gooseberry with some clarity and things went back to normal and Maggie was probably none the wiser. Maggie & Nate would know about Cricket's adventures in London, but only Diego knows the sordid tale behind it all.

And Cricket now has beef with Anj. Take a job from Maggie's mom and then break up with her??? HARPY! She does her best not to scowl when Maggie talks fondly about Anj though.

Holden failboat Bright

Bestest Buds: IDEK ANYMORE. Ribbonfin juniors? Basically anyone who grabs him and pulls him along.
Notable Past Relationships: Yeah probably but it's been a long time and influx of new peeps so I actually have to plot that again.
Current Relationship Status: So, so single.
The Messy Bits: That he's awkward as hell and can't deal with flirting or putting himself out there and needs meddlers to push him into things? NOPE.

House and Year: Ribbonfin senior.
Sexuality: Obviously swings every which way.
Bestest Buds: Z’s closest with Ribbonfins in her year, and people who share special interests -- Quidditch, Divination. :) Also Ryan. Awkwardly. IDK she has love for everyone really.
Notable Past Relationships: Uhhh the big one is Ryan last fall — they were an obvious item and it was an obvious bad breakup. Other than him, she’s had one other relationship that could be called “notable” with an as-yet-undecided girl over the summer. She’s pretty much the type who will give anything a shot, tbqh? That’s probably semi well known about her at this point.
Current Relationship Status: Single.
The Messy Bits:
Awkward? Clearly still has feelings for Ryan that make things weird and haven’t quite been figured out. Has multiple crushes-from-afar on multiple girls she doesn't really talk to. Everyone probably knows about what went down/didn’t go down with her and Penelope thanks to the Amortentia.

HE HAS ROOMMATES NOW! And they're all so cute! Cricket is definitely going to be more involved with their cabin now that we've established that Lach and Cricket are tight.

Also, I really like the idea of Jesse having this squad of hapless, super friendly, socially awkward junior boys who he is trying to mold into MEN. DRINK A BEER, CHRIST.

Diego Morales

House and Year: Azurcrest Senior
Sexuality: Barely coming to terms with his bisexuality.
Bestest Buds: CECIL AND LEVI. But he has a large circle of friends, including Jesse, Ryan, Zoey, Riley, Addy, Sofia, Bailey, Wes, AND PROBABLY A TON OF PEOPLE I MISSED.
Notable Past Relationships: Tabitha. Addy and Bailey, who he dated only briefly. Has regular-ish hookups with Etta. He's hooked up with Chris and Anuhea. If any girl wants him as an ex, or to say they slept with him, Diego is... easy. Just drop me a note and it's probably happened as long as they're at least a junior. Nooooo sophomores.
Current Relationship Status: Single.
The Messy Bits: Jesus Christ. OKAY HERE WE GO.

• He's got some serious romantic feelings for his very close BFF, Cecil Honeychurch. Cecil's with Levi, though, so Diego's facing all that agonizing teen heartbreak. Anyone who knows the dynamics of that friendship might be able to determine what the issue is after the Amortentia thing. He's actively trying to get over it, and isn't going to compete for Cecil or anything like that.
• He also was pushing Cecil and Levi to get together, contributing to his current state. His judgement is so bad.
• Dated Tabitha last year, and everything seemed perfect. Diego was a very attentive boyfriend. Diego then abruptly set that relationship on fire by cheating on Tabitha. His motivations are rumored to be boredom or that Tabs wouldn't sleep with him. Neither are true, but that's neither here nor there~
• Has been sexually active since he was a freshman which is definitely yikes.
• Kind of getting into Ravi? Thinks Ravi is kind of into him???
• It's a little generous to say he's "out" now. He's still kind of keeping quiet about the surprise bisexuality.
• Known for getting really drunk and making out with anybody at parties.
• Hot mess. Arguably a lovable hot mess?

He's probably gonna call in favors like he did for the Halloween thing and ask someone to make a suit for him or he might borrow something from the theatre department because he likes flashy anyway. I already know what he's gonna wear and it's ridiculous so the theatre department would make sense. He's blown all his money on gifts for Cecil's Hanukkah presents already.

Honestly, Levi would be super pleased with those gifts. WE'VE GOTTEN THE BAG OF DICKS BEFORE, they're stupidly expensive for the tiny bag they come in and they don't taste v good but Levi would treasure them.

Character Name: Micah St. Clair
House and Year: Azurcrest Sophomore
Sexuality: Bisexual. He claims to be "no labels" because he's pretentious but Micah makes no secret about being attracted to all genders.
Bestest Buds: Closest to Cole and Ree, who are his friends from Ilvermorny. Probably considers Cole his BFF, but Micah's super friendly to everyone in his year. Adores the Azurcrest sophomores. Idolizes the Azurcrest Quidditch team.
Notable Past Relationships: Never dated, probably? Not looking to be tied down to a relationship, but he enjoys flirting a lot.
Current Relationship Status: Single.
The Messy Bits: Has the BIGGEST CRUSH on Calvin Evercreech, which is public knowledge. (Brief history of their relationship: freshman year Calvin acted like a huge jerk to him, Micah was into that, Micah thought being a huge jerk was ~their thing~, some much-needed corrections were made, now they're sort of friends?) Currently backing off from Calvin because Amortentia freaked him out a bit. Kissed some very attractive people during the last Grotto party, namely Cole and Susana, and has some weird feelings about both of them.
Anything Else: Micah's making a GIRL TALK WARD on Wednesday, directed to all the sophomore boys minus Calvin, to discuss dates to the Winter Formal. Also I need to hit up everyone's intros ughhhhhhh

I love how the Ebonhide Senior girls and Junior girls actually have fairly similar inner group dynamics, but they've just attached themselves to different boy disasters and that's the route of like 90% of their arguments.
