This is Balthazar Doyle! He's an Ebonhide sophomore from upstate New York and the favored protégé of his elderly grandmother, who also just so happens to be one of most talented crafters of magical jewelry around! While not filthy rich himself, his family is wealthy and well-known and if your kiddos are from a filthy rich family they've probably bought some swanky magical jewelry from his family at some point or another.
While Balthazar is talented in all aspects of the family business and he has an artiste's passion for making things, he's extremely laid-back about almost everything else and there's very little that he will openly care about or take seriously. He's mellow and playful and willing to go along with/encourage just about anything that seems like it could be a good time (bring on the sophomore schemes!). Unfortunately, he's also flighty and if he gets bored he'll bail just as readily (good luck with those sophomore schemes!). He dislikes structure and obligation and can be quite impulsive, so he's generally unreliable. He'll try to be less of an asshole to his closest friends, though.

- Jewelry Enthusiasts! Balthazar makes jewelry and wears jewelry and likes jewelry. People that share this interest, either as people that also like to make things or people that would be willing to play jewelry swapsies with him are fun.
- Musical inspiration! Balthazar wasn't a musician when he came to Gooseberry but there were so many in Ebonhide that he ended up picking up a guitar. He's not great but he is pretty good and having someone as his official musical sensei could be fun.
