HOW THIS WORKS

In preparation for the 10 Year Reunion next weekend, this meme is for you guys to plot out exactly what happened over the past decade.

Post your responses to the first header, but plot under the second so people can edit their responses!

Be considerate and mildly realistic while plotting! Obviously, we all want our babies to be successful, but the MACUSA president isn't going to be a 25 year old, and your junior Auror did not kill a dozen Dark Wizards singlehandedly to rescue Snoop Crupp.

What happened after Gooseberry closed?:
- Gooseberry Alternative High School was officially shut down, and remained abandoned for two years.
- It was then reopened as the Merrill Memorial Research Institute, which is a facility dedicated to studying the surrounding area and funding unique projects for the betterment of the magical world. It attracts many brilliant minds, and Mrs. Bloom is constantly flooded by applicants seeking funding and research space.
- Yes, you may say one of your nerds is employed there now.
- There's housing available inside the lodge where classrooms have been converted to labs and office spaces, but nature has reclaimed the campsites. However, plenty of employees Apparate into work instead, because not everyone wants to live in the middle of the woods.
- Despite all these years of studying the unusual forest, no one is certain what makes it so strange. There are rare sightings of a white moose, but no one can confirm its existence, much less whether or not it's the same moose as before.
- The school is definitely still littered with ghosts, though, and there's a dedicated ghost research wing.
- Ms. Lilywhite and Ms. Vector reside there as research staff. They are rumored to be a couple, but are both very private women, so don't try asking them about it.
- Mr. Elmasry and Dr. Perry are engaged and currently reside in Washington, D.C.

Name: Ennis Harper. Mostly goes by "Harper" now since that's how he's introduced himself to new people post-grad, but he'll answer to either.
Age: 28
Occupation: Researcher for the Merrill Memorial Research Institute, focusing on the afterlife and alternate realities. (The Veil, Liminal spaces, and whatever spooky place Anon sent them to)

Residence: Logan, UT. He's one of the weirdos who enjoys living in the middle of the haunted woods. c':
Personal life:
After leaving the boarding school environment, he found the desire to hold hands and mush faces a lot less urgent than when everyone else around him was doing it. He's been juggling some long, drawn out will-we-won't-wes with magical non-wizard people he's met along the way but his current and longest not-relationship is with a researcher in a similar field who's a vampire. They talk frequently and enthusiastically online, but clam up when they meet to do research together. It's great.

As for children, he has a lil rat, Lady Cecilia IV, and a Thestral named Mister Bones.

After Gooseberry closed:
Ennis tried to enjoy his summer with his friends, but ghosted about a month after graduation to run off to New Zealand in an attempt to cope with his trauma by ~returning to his roots~. His mom found him after two days by tracking his purchases on his debit card, which lead her to a Starbucks in Christchurch where he was enjoying a Frappuccino and free wifi. After a lot of convincing, she allowed him to stay as long as he checked in with her regularly.
After graduation:
Ennis never applied to any colleges and always intended to take a gap year to figure things out before deciding on a career. He'd had an offer for an apprenticeship with a Witch fashion designer and it would have opened many doors for him, but he never followed up on the opportunity because his interests had taken a sudden and dramatic shift elsewhere. Back to the beginning, back to the divine, the unknown of what lies beyond the Veil.

He gathered his father's old notebooks and continued his research on the afterlife, traveling across the world seeking answers to new questions, but always making sure to check in with Mom. Australia's Ministry of Magic very nearly had him sworn into their ranks as an Unspeakable (like his father once was) before Ennis heard rumors of the beginnings of something happening at his old Gooseberry campus and ghosted 'em for America. He'd been eager to return to Gooseberry's forest to conduct his own research and he was more than willing to give up a big Ministry job for the opportunity to investigate some vague rumors about a place where he had his own unfinished business.

Now as an adult:

Ennis has been with the Merrill Memorial Research Institute since its founding. He likes living in the middle of his favorite spooky forest, but with many modern comforts and the ability to apparate in and out. He raises a Thestral in the old stables with the excuse of "work-related research" but the truth is he just loves Thestrals and thinks they're cool. :(

He's somewhat well-known in his field (mostly because a lot of people in his field are Unspeakables and can't exactly speak on the subject) and he hosts the wizarding equivalent of podcasts (they have radio so they probably have those by 2025??) on his subject.

Are they happy?: The cell service could be better and he's sort of squandering his many artistic talents because he's been obsessed with the Forest Gods and the events of Brother's death and a hope for revival for ten years but, like... He doesn't have to pay for internet and he gets to ride a Thestral around like a total edgelord and play the "LOOK, I'M LEVITATING" game with people who can't see them so, yeah, he's pretty happy.

Gwen will during the reunion but she otherwise does not like to go to Gooseberry. Even if everyone begs her, haha..she'll meet him offsite with one of her Abraxans.

Age: 27
Occupation: MACUSA State Rep
Residence: Brooklyn, New York
Personal life: To no one's surprise, Samantha and Solomon got married not long after graduating from Ilvermorny! He took her to the top of the Eiffel tower because he thought it was really romantic after seeing it in a movie they watched together not long before. It was really corny and not very surprising and she absolutely loved it. They have one child, a little boy named Shiloh.
After Gooseberry closed: Solo had no other real options but to go to Ilvermorny so Sam followed him there. It was hard, and the questions of what happened at Gooseberry were always an unwelcome reminder of the worst day of her life. With help, she worked harder than ever to excel in school and graduated with honors.
After graduation: Sam and Solo traveled, got engaged, and then got married. Both hopped into careers after that. With Samantha's mom being the NY State Rep for MACUSA, Sam got in there and started politicing. When she ran for state representative herself, she ran on a strong platform of educational safety and quicker magical crisis response times. She's visited the Merrill Institute several times for press events etc, given how the work they do ties in strongly with her ideals. Her family also donates to the institute.
Now as an adult: Now she's just living her life with Solo, who got wildly famous himself. They both loved living in New York, so settled down in a nice house in Brooklyn, had a kid, and continued to work.
Are they happy?: Hell yes!

After Gooseberry closed: Already graduated, Penny read about what happened though and was pretty much just "good riddance" about it.
After graduation: Penny worked the professional quidditch circuit for a minute before being offered a spot on a professional DotA team. She was the first female gamer in the professional league for that game and went on to win the International - in second place her first year, and first place her second year.
Now as an adult: Giving up magic for the most part, Penny has enjoyed her time gaming. She's still doing smaller tournaments and appearances, but is now working on a secondary degree to integrate back into the magic world as a healer. There's currently an offer to patent her magical diagnostic tool, which started out as her senior project.

Personal life: Absolutely not married. Bad at dating.
After Gooseberry closed: he fled the country.
After graduation: Reece has been pretty aimless in his life, but that's okay, because his family can support him.
Now as an adult: This entire stint with the Quayle Jr., Jr., administration has been a distraction for him, and he's putting more serious thought to what he wants to do with his life than he has every before. He's got some of his inventions patented and he's considering going into business with the financial backing of the Quayle fam.
