Hello everyone! It's Meggie (Diego, Calvin, Reid), here with someone I'm really sorry exists.

This is Rafael Ramirez, a senior Coppertale prefect, who everyone will probably at least know as being a mercilessly strict rule enforcer who enjoys his position way too much. Here are some other things about him, though!

• Excellent social graces, very confident and authoritative. Knows all of your names and at least a few things about you. Does the fox proud, i.e. always wants to be in charge. Playful, good sense of humor. But he kind of has a lot of sharp edges that make him just a liiiiiiittle uncomfortable to be around sometimes.
  
• Really cares about people. If you're his friend then he's super nosy and getting him to BTFO is hard. HE JUST LOVES YOU SO MUCH. LET HIM HELP YOU.
  
• Ballet prodigy. Unfortunately, right after sophomore year, Rafael had a severe knee injury that ended his ballet career prematurely. He says he's over it. (He's not over it.) He's still a fantastic dancer, though, and every morning gathers with other students to practice. Anyone can join in, but if you show up to ogle the dancers he's browbeating you until you leave or join.
  
• STRICT PREFECT. Rafael loves being a prefect, as in he thinks it's really fun to track down rule breakers. If you are one of these naughty children, Rafael might very well actually like you, since he sees his PURSUIT OF THE LAW as actually just a super fun competition. He has no moral objections to illegal activity.
  
• Speaking of which, he's horribly competitive. Any time someone is in opposition to him, Rafael gets ruthless. He's waaaay into winning. He's a min-maxer in D&D, and pretty awful in LARP too. He's terrible at the role playing thing and does not get attached to his characters, but he's really good at building killing machines.
  
• When there's a party, he publishes PARTY RULES which are just a new set of rules that allow everyone to have an awesome time while Rafael still feels in control. He's going to be making wards to the prefects all the time and I'm so sorry.

And there are a couple relationships people might be aware of:

• Rafael is the son of Lorenzo and Anita Ramirez, who are a very well known celebrity couple in the Spanish-speaking wizarding world. There's always a tabloid story about their inevitable divorce or a cheating scandal.
  
• Ricardo Ramirez, Rafael's dreamy older brother, just graduated. He was a founding member of LARP, and he was known for getting into really intense IC romances. Ric and Raf (lol very funny mom and dad) did not get along very well. Senior LARPers, feel free to say Ric flirted with your character while "in character", and then was like HAHA IT'S JUST A GAME I'M GREAT WITH BOUNDARIES. Ricardo is getting married to his high school sweetheart soon, so if anyone would like to say that this is their older sister or cousin, that would be really cool!
  
• Sophomore to junior year, Rafael was dating Quinn Cunningham, and they were a terrifying rule-enforcing power couple that you didn't want to see on rounds together. However, Ricardo decided he didn't like Quinn, and nitpicked that relationship until the couple split last year.
  
• CLASSES: Charms, Hermeticism, Potions, Transfiguration, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Occlumency
  
• CLUBS: Duelling/Fencing, Gaming, LARP, Event Committee

Cecil and Maggie: Rafael totally tries to exert more power than he ought to sometimes, but he will toe the line if you tell him off. HE KNOWS WHO HIS BOSSES ARE. He's also your bad cop enforcer, and will eagerly be the mean prefect you can sic on people. ;*

Yeah, I imagine they might not. Rafael has no ill will towards her, but they don't seem like they would be totally compatible.

Yes, Zoey's so laid back that even with her rule breaking they're probably fine. If she doesn't engage his ~intense~ side, she'll just see his very gracious/social side. c:

YES they should be friends and she should practice dance with him! ♥ He's not nearly as good at modern dance, but is probably always enthused to have her teach him a thing or two.

Ahhhh, I feel like Rafael and Ursula may be kindred spirits in LARP. Once she would have learned that Princess isn't actually a job class, I imagine she would have wanted be a Princess who is very efficient at killing things and would have totally let him min-max her if he'd offered to help. UHM, either way, they're in Gaming and LARP together. I've generally assumed Ursula hasn't been invited to join any active D&D campaigns since she's Ursula and she doesn't exactly ooze 'Great candidate for complex rules + dice rolling storytelling game'. She probably asked them about princesses too and they weren't as nice as Ravi. ;)

Essie does Fencing with him and he is definitely on the list now (and surely was before but ~waves hands~). I assume for your own sanity that he isn't part of Diego's posse which is GOOD NEWS for Essie.

Yesssssss! Rafael is actually often the one to take on the responsibility of teaching new players, and he would absolutely offer to help her make a princess who can do some serious damage. She might also then need to talk to Ravi and Levi about making a more balanced character who can do something other than just destroy things. He really is good for making sure newcomers are well prepared, though. Maybe over the course of the game, Rafael can lure her into tabletop stuff? He's... definitely a bad GM, but he really loves helping people and he'll teach Ursula everything he knows.

Yeah, I'm assuming Diego and Rafael have decided THEY DON'T LIKE ONE ANOTHER AND THUS NEVER SPEAK. You're in luck, Essie!!! I imagine he really enjoys helping out the younger students, so he's maybe given Essie tips on how to CRUSH HER ENEMIES UNDER HER DELICATE HEEL improve her posture and footwork.

I don't think we figured out how they are now! I think it would be a shame if they hated each other forever. :( But I also think Ricardo picked at their relationship that it ended poorly, and they were Enemies for a while. There are two ways this could have gone in my mind, but they come back to the same thing: (1) they have already made up, and (2) they should make up this semester. Regardless of which happens/happened, I humbly request that the peace offering on Quinn's side was her attending the barre classes. Not speaking a lot at first and "just here for the workout," but developing the patience to actually work on a physical activity that requires restraint, not nosebleeds, and her taking directions from Rafael.

Kurt probably doesn't know him much. He probably tries to break as few rules as possible. Hurray!

And I agree, I would rather have them on speaking terms now or soon! :C And I think it would be really awesome to have her at the barre classes, and Rafael trying really hard not to make it another competition thing because their relationship is so fragile. Maybe we could say she's recently started and they're caaaaautiously trying to rebuild their friendship now that they're free of Ricardo?

Rafael thinks Kurt is a GOOD BOY. He's going to tease him when he sees him at a party, and then immediately feel bad if Kurt thinks he's seriously disappointed in him.

OKAY. SO. HE'D HAVE LINES WITH BOTH MY BABIES.

Maggie is privately relieved that Rafael didn't make Head Boy this year because omg that's too much power in his hands. She's definitely Good Cop and appreciates his Bad Cop attitude, and it was a relief to her whenever she ended up on prefect duty with him because that meant she didn't have to Mom Scold anyone and look bad. She just got to play the Disappointing Mom shaking her head in the background while Dad gets the belt.

Now that she's HG, she'll try to reign him back if she feels he's getting too power-hungry but she's also content to use him as an attack dog and so he'll be up on her priority list when it comes to asking who wants what patrols. -- I MEAN, FAVORITISM? WHAT? NO, THAT'S WRONG-- but ok sweetie what nights suit you best and who do you work well with?

Gotta keep dat love and loyalty within the ranks.

She also has a lot of classes with him and she's in duelling club too! So they'll be seeing a lot of each other.


ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT AND NOW ON TO LEVI.

So the majority of the residents on the island Levi was born and raised on are Mexican and Mexican-American and so he grew up speaking Spanish and consuming their media. THERE IS NOT MUCH TO DO THERE so omg, I bet he sat around with little old ladies and listened to Rafael's mama on the radio and was read the hot goss in the Mexican newspapers.

He might've had a crush on Ricardo because he was an older boy and the HANDSOME ACTOR SON OF FAMOUS ACTRESS ANITA RAMIREZ and blurred that ic/ooc line in LARP to try to flirt with him ICly. But-- y'know, it's totally in-character because he's a bard and the serenading is all part of his charming bard act and not because HANDSOME ACTOR SON OF FAMOUS ACTRESS ANITA RAMIREZ.

And Levi is Levi so he is going to make bold passes at Rafael too (tbh I think only Diego is spared from his advances) and he'll more than happily make a game out of playing Cops and Robbers with him because he likes breaking the rules and he also likes banter.

Also, I love that he's a min/maxer because THERE IS ALWAYS AT LEAST ONE IN OUR D&D GROUP AND THEY DRAG THE GAME OUT FOR HOURS BECAUSE THEY TAKE TWELVE YEARS TO LEVEL UP THEIR CHARACTER AND WILL FUSS OVER THE RULES AND DETAILS WITH THE GM AND omg. omg I love it. Levi's just gonna be like "Why can't you just play like Ricardo and min/max your romance routes instead? ;^( "

RAFAEL LOVES MAGGIE, and is glad she became Head Girl, even if sometimes he fantasizes about how absolutely cool and definitely not terrifying it would have been if he and Tess were made Head Girl and Boy. To be perfectly honest, when all the Head of House sat down with Bloom to talk about selecting the Head Boy/Girl, the first thing Vector did was cross Rafael's name off the list. He was never even in the running.

He's definitely loyal to her, and still happy to be the Strict Dad Prefect. He's not so great at her arts & crafts nights, but she can probably redirect him to helping freshmen and sophomores.

AND LEVI. OH NO THAT'S SO CUTE WITH HIM LISTENING TO RAFAEL'S MAMA. Rafael could have owled his mom for a bunch of autographed photos for Levi to bring back to all his little old ladies.

Aaaaand Ricardo was more than happy to flirt back with Levi, and Rafael was perhaps heard fighting with him over HOW INAPPROPRIATE THAT WAS and Ricardo was like RAFAEL YOU JUST DON'T ~GET IT~ LIKE LEVI DOES, WE'RE ARTISTS. Now that Ric is gone, Rafael will flirt back with Levi, and probably often plays the role of being OH SO SCANDALIZED by Levi's shamelessness. He's happy to banter about what a troublesome rulebreaker Levi is and how next time he's totally going to catch him, just you wait.

LMFAOOO OH MY GOD I KNOW. Rafael is my opposite in tabletop technique, but it's going to be fun and I've definitely played with people like him. Rafael never ever does IC romances. Ric made him think that NO ONE HAS ANY BOUNDARIES. Any time Rafael gets close to an IC romance he SHUTS THAT DOWN IMMEDIATELY.

okay so obviously there's chris. Who dated Quinn after raf. And lives in a room with him lol I feel like he'll have a complicated relationship with Raf like he does with Sy (and prolly Diego in the future if he keeps giving Diego that fucking inch) where he kinda feels like Raf is a bit of a dick but he's Coppertail's dick (he doesn't think Diego's a dick, he's just a bit annoying lol). But competitions with them is prolly intense because Chris's reaction to ruthless competition (as is evidence in how he plays quidditch) is to get ruthless back. There was probably an unfortunate incident where someone thought it was a good idea to bring risk or monopoly for some muggle esque fun. Risk would've been great. It could've just been the two of them trying to ruthlessly outdictator eachother.

So Chris prolly picks at Raf and expresses annoyance with him but there's probably like low key fondness in there too. I mean as fond as chris can get lol which good bc Chris is in every single class Raf is taking. And two of his three clubs because LARP is for losers.

Yeah, I agree! I'm sure that Raf and Chris can really get excessive when they start competing or arguing. And oh my god those Risk games were probably BRUTAL. And with Monopoly, everyone else dropped out hours ago BUT CHRIS AND RAF ARE STILL AT IT.

Rafael is definitely pretty fond of Chris, despite all their butting heads. Chris probably has to tell Rafael to BACK OFF a lot and Rafael will tease him too much. He promises that deer jokes are off limits, and he's going to find NEW, FRESH MATERIAL.

...I'm just going to say he knows Trixie so very well. SO VERY WELL. She isn't doing anything bad, not really. Just ignore those oranges. She's in all the things with him and tends to verge on not quite breaking rules but sort of kind of breaking rules. Basically you get Trixie.

Katya is a prefect, so prefect stuff there and Ferris just sits in a huff all the time.

YES, I imagine he and Trixie definitely know one another really well. He gives her a hard time about bending those rules, but in an affectionate way. He'll enjoy joking around with her and playing the straight man to her wild child.

Katya he probably likes! Even if she's a little lax, he feels like all the Azurcrest prefects have a lot on their plate. If he hears her doubting she should have been made prefect, she is getting a PEP TALK.

Ok so I think Isaiah actually likes him? Like. He's got a musically-inclined passion, which Zay totally GETS. The rule-following thing is reassuring for his social anxiety issues. He's cute. IDK he may be better at interaction here than he is normally? WE SHALL SEE.

Gabi is in LARP and ummm killing machines are not her thing but she kind of thinks he's lovely so idk idk.

Ree is the opposite as a prefect even if she IS trying to be responsible soooo but it's also Ree.

Awwww, Isaiah! ♥ I think his quieter personality will probably get Rafael to cool down a little when they're hanging out, because there's nothing to be competitive about. He's probably asked him to come play piano for the dancers before, and will talk to him about classical composers and all that nerdy music stuff.

Rafael is usually the person that ends up teaching new LARPers how to build characters and learn the rules. He definitely makes deadly characters, but I think his goal with the new kids is to make sure they go in competent and well equipped. SO THERE'S THAT. I imagine he's still very kind to Gabi.

Like with Katya, Rafael knows the Azurcrest prefects have been dealt a tough hand, and as long as Ree is trying, he's appreciative. He might tease her about going easy on all those rule breakers and WHAT ARE YOU DOING AT THIS WILD AND VERY AGAINST THE RULES PARTY YOUNG LADY. Also, he's very appreciative of her honesty and straightforwardness.

NATE: Rafael appreciates his work effort. Going above and beyond until you are literally damaging yourself is a good plan and definitely never backfires.

RILEY: I'm so sorry Riley.

ROSY: OK OK I CAN THINK OF THINGS. So, maybe last year, Rafael noticed that Rosy was uncomfortable having to be the one to discipline Sy. And after that, he started making a point of stepping up to handle Sy's incidents, not calling her in for them, etc. Also they're both really irrationally competitive, so maybe they get carried away in duelling a lot and can have a ~rivalry~. Uh, he also thinks she's pretty, and might passively have a crush.

ROBIN: LMFAO yes I love it. Rafael will swear it's all totally ic, but everyone knows Rafael sucks so bad at having any character motivations that aren't just him.

But most of the time he just cares too much about himself to really get peer pressured into bad behavior. And even then most of it is just flirting with girls and maaaaybe sneaking out for late night hookups, if that. WES IS A GOOD BOY HE WON'T CAUSE YOU NO TROUBLE, BABY. They also probably get along really well? Despite them both being arrogant but they probably balance eachother out really well? Wes mostly stays in his lane being cute. Although if he ever does give advice to Rafael that isn't taken and he later fails, expect little smirks and Kanye shrugs of "Baby I done told you so."

I feel like Sylla maaaaay throw up some red flags just in terms of enjoying watching fights and being weird and shady some of the time? They do have dueling together and she probably is just WAITING for him to reach his third strike, because OMG EVERYONE BOY FIGHT. EVERYONE WATCH THE BOY FIGHT.

And Holden is intimidated AF.

Cecil probably likes Rafael because he's charming and hardworking and genuinely cares about people (even if it's with an iron fist), but will definitely think he goes too far sometimes in the discipline department. He does appreciate that Rafael actually listens to him, though, and he hopes they can still be buds~ Also, they have Event Committee together and he'll be happy to let Rafael take the lead there if he wants!

Casper seems like someone that Rafael might have a problem with, given that he's a Prefect who tries to get away with ignoring the dress code and has some semi-open disdain for the role? So. Probably not the best of friends. They have Dueling together and Casper may enjoy taking shots at him more than he should.

Pippa is all about cute boys with Spanish accents and will probably go all giggly and pink around Rafael if he notices her. She's not a rule breaker (unless under the influence of more wayward/rebellious friends) and would be mortified if Rafael ever had to take points from her.

Henrietta, on the other hand, is a naughty child. HI RAF. She doesn't break rules for the sake of it, she just... does her own thing, and sometimes that happens to be in direct conflict with Official Policy. (But if you're not hurting anyone, what's the big deal?) I think she'd enjoy playing Rafael's detective vs criminals game since she's also super competitive, haha.

OH and I did think about offering Etta's older sister up as Ric's fiancée but since Theo is currently jaunting around Europe and Ric is in Mexico making his acting debut, sadly it wouldn't work. Sorry!

Frankie definitely thinks that he/his hair is beautiful and enjoys doodling his character(s) during LARP. Even if she cringes a bit at all of the GRR ARGH DEATH.

Nia (doused) is a fellow Prefect - also strict, though less vehement about it. She's more of a clicking her tongue, lecturing gently, and dragging people off to bed girl. All of her dancing knowledge, however, comes from private lessons and is v. unimpressive.
