Hello friends! Callie again, but this time with a BOY. :) I'm late on the intro train because I took an impromptu trip to Asbury Park, NJ for a zombie walk. Many apologies! <3

This lovely young man is Ryan Hertz. He's an Azurcrest senior, and I'm going to go ahead and quote his concept first because it's important and probably the best way to sum him up I could ever do. "Enigmatic doom cookie keeps himself hidden under a bad boy image." Yeah. Let that sink in first as we move onto the bullet points lol

-Born in Versailles, France but moved to Dorchester, MA when he was 7. (Yes, he speaks French!)
-Halfblood. Mom was the witch who abandoned him to his muggle father when he was born. His father was a strict man, but things didn't get bad until the magic appeared. That's when the verbal/emotional abuse turned physical (and into creative/archaic punishments) to "drive the evil out"
-Ryan went from a charming and engaging child to a wary and guarded one who believed there was some curse on him that he was being punished for and that everyone would eventually leave him because of (cheery, right?)
-His only saving grace came in the form of Chris Park's mom, who treated him as her own and tried to make up for his shit father.
-He expects the worst first, and is always secretly expecting people will turn away or betray him even as he's putting on a good front
-After finding out his mother is in Azkaban for being in league with the Dark Lord, he decided it was his mission to be nothing like her
-He is naturally charming and engaging, with a laid back live and let live mentality and adventurist/individualist spirit, at his core. He also just firmly believes he doesn't deserve any happiness
-Generally presents as an enigmatic bad boy persona rather than his awkward and guardedly pessimistic nature. Lots of arrogance, snark, and dry wit.
-He hides these feelings because he doesn't want to be anything like what his father thinks he is or his mother is, but he also kind of wishes he could really be like that
-Tends to be extreme in his moods, and can be quite frustrating at times. No real "middle ground" where he's concerned.

Katya is Katya, she's a year below him but like that really seems to matter. She's doing a bunch of those classes but...a year below.

But Trixie! Senior and Gaming. Also she's pretty much an annoying little ball of crazy plus she and Chris are going to take over the world so clearly he must know of her evil plans.

Katya is awesome. And I think he'll like that she probably won't bullshit him and leave him be when he needs to be left be. A+ Katya!

TRIXIE <3 I'm sure he knows her from both the club and Chris. He actually would enjoy her I think. She's crazy, but not necessarily Azurcrest crazy. I think they'll be great!

zoey's in a couple of classes with him. i always feel kinda awkward w her in intro posts cos no matter what it's like "she's pretty chill she'd probably tolerate this character" but it's always truuue. :u she wouldn't be much phased by the persona ryan puts on, probably, unless he were overly snarky at someone she cares about. ♥ maybe they'd kinda get alongish!

laurel's ummm A SENIOR AZURCREST and also in a handful of classes with him. c: her sense of humor&straightforwardness might make them kinda friends? -- maybe either a) they get along as much as he could get along, or b) they alternate between clashing/getting along. maybe both. idk. i guess we'll seeee. also theyre in gaming together! c:

I think he would like her. He likes straightforward people and she doesn't seem overly bubbly or anything. I'd be interested to find out how she'd act if he ever got moody too. :)

Ursula is pure gold. If I'm lucky enough to have another character I kinda wanna make a member of her posse lol Essie is gonna O_O the shit out of him lol

azu seniors unite! Quinn's been in his year for years. obvs. She may have little time for him at the bottom of his mood swings (good god woman, work on your bedside manner!!!) but if she's all about hanging out, she will def try to hand out with Ryan when it can happen. She also dated Chris for a bit last year and she's still friends with him, so I figure Ryan and Quinn are in the same space enough that maybe she's also used to him — and fine with it as long as he doesn't try to pull her in with him in a doom-spiral! Maybe they are friends but will also not talk to each other for a bit because Quinn walked away when she Just Doesn't Have Time For This, but then they pick up the next week like it never happened?

Kurt doesn't have much to do with Ryan. This is probably for the best. He would be very confused.

I LOVE THAT. Like so much. A friend who he probably met through Chris and kinda got comfortable enough around to show some of the doom side to and she occasionally (or often) didn't have time for it so would just go but that was always erased next time they hung out. Like just accepted as part of their dynamic. YES.

So I have Anuhea who is a senior with him and in a few of the same classes. Not sure how they will get on really. But then I never really know how Anuhea will get on with people.

Charlotte is a sophomore Coppertale and a bit of a bossy mean girl prefect but she is in duelling and fencing so might cross paths there sometimes maybe? I doubt he will like her too much.

I swear nobody will like her. But that is okay. I've played Dolores Umbridge I can handle not being liked. Sigh. Charlotte might not though lol.

I think Ana will be just fine with her! And Vee gets along with most people, though if she ever saw the mean girl acts she'd not be pleased lol

Anuhea is awesome and I hope she and he get along. He could use a calming influence like her. She's not overwhelming and he likes that.

He will definitely not appreciate those mean girl bossy tendencies, but won't be outwardly rude unless she's going too far and he happens to see it. He's not a meanie!

I think there is a good chance he and Anuhea will get along. So I say yes, lets say they do :) She is definitely not overwhelming she just sits back and listens and just is.

Hopefully he wont have to witness it but who knows.

Sooo, his relationship with Diego depends on whether or not Ryan finds him horribly annoying, or haplessly charming. If Ryan likes him, Diego is a warm and giving friend who will be very sensitive to Ryan's darker moods, but he's also a flake who breaks promises and oversteps boundaries. If he doesn't like him, they've lived together for so long Diego has probably reached the friendly passive aggression phase of his "I refuse to accept I can't get along with everyone" thing.

Reid and Ryan probably don't talk a ton? NOT THAT REID TALKS MUCH IN GENERAL. But he and Chris do like one another, so Reid will certainly be cool with Ryan.

Calvin's a baby Ribbonfin, and will know Ryan only really from Duelling/Fencing. He will eye roll at the bad boy thing because he's a snobby brat who always thinks the worst of people he doesn't know well, but he'll like Ryan more when he's being genuine. Calvin also has a family member or two in Azkaban for You-Know-Who related crimes, but that's Something You Never Talk About.

I actually think he'd like Diego. He might have trouble showing it, and he's certainly not going to tell him he's charming, but he'll appreciate Diego. The band thing is a big one and the guy isn't overly sweet or like 'zommgggggg' or anything. He might get a little annoyed with the boundaries (like he doesn't like being touched much), especially if he's in a mood, but generally I think they'll be good. Especially if Diego forces him out of his shell some.

RIGHT?! The silent friends. Just sitting there, not talking, is the best hanging out lol He does like a lot of Chris' friends on principle too.

They will be fun to feel out, I can tell. Like initial distaste and awkwardness, but the more Calvin sees of his genuine nature and vice versa, the better it will be. They might never share that family tidbit, but if they do? Instant bond.

Hurrah for senior Azurcrests! Henrietta gets along with most (if not all) of her housemates so she'll be friendly with Ryan. And if you want them to be ~extra friendly~ then I'm up for them being exes or random makeout buddies. She'll just be like "lol okay w/e" at his moods and shrug them off without getting offended.

As for Pippa, I don't think there's much overlap between them but Essie is showing Pippa all the cute boys at this school, so she may giggle and blush when she next sees him~

Yes!! I'm excited to be in the house finally. :) And Ryan isn't huge on being all touchy feely, and takes a lot to get to "friendly" territory, but he is still a teenage boy. I think he'll like Henrietta, and mixed with her not getting offended by him, yeah. Makeout buddies is a definite thing.

Awww <3 Just like with Essie, he will have no idea how to handle that. He is uncomfortable with his looks drawing attention, but doesn't want to hurt their feelings because they're adorable lol

Hiiii and YAY AZURCRESTS ALL OF THEM. He sounds kind of like the type of person Addy would adopt which mostly means she would check in from time to time to make sure he's doing okay/ is happy. So hopefully that will be fine...

Yeesss consider yourself addy's child who happens to be older than her, Ryan.
She will low key distract away people when he seems unhappy/ like he wants to be alone and make sure he knows he is appreciated. I promise she does not push Talking About Feelings but has probably hinted that it's always an open door etc

A BOY? WHAT? But yay for another new Azurcrest character! :) Also, I kinda love his hair.

That said! Cecil and Ryan don't have much overlap apart from being housemates, but Cecil will still be friendly toward him and try to take care of him in the same way he does for all the Azurcrests. Try to cheer him up when he seems more down than usual, be available if he needs help with anything, provide encouragement and baked goods, you know, all that stuff. And the snark probably rolls off of him pretty easily, so long as Ryan doesn't cross the line into being antagonistic or anything. Sooo, however he's handled that for the last four years!

Casper is in Dueling with Ryan and probably likes him just fine, since they're cut from a similar 'I'm sarcastic and a bit prickly because I'm unhappy' cloth. He may also have some interest in him just because he's in Occlumency and that shit is hard and HELP. But in a more subtle way. ;)

YES I KNOW. I love boys. And Azurcrests. :) His hair is pretty awesome too. (Although I think his face makes me give him many allowances ;D)

Cecil is truly the best. Ryan is very rarely antagonistic or cruel, but he can get in really surly moods. If that ever happens, he'll thank Cecil for making him stop. So Ii think they'll get along well since that's a rare thing.

YES. The "I'm only mean because I'm afraid of being nice and am not happy enough for it" bonding. :) Plus, Occulmency is definitely something that they can commiserate on and help each other with.

Levi likes all Azurcrest by default and he will love and protect his roommates, always. He's energetic and loud and overly friendly (basically a dog ok) and he has a knack for getting into trouble and makes a game out of seeing how much he can get away with. It's common knowledge he's involved in a weird little on-off FWB thing with Ryan's BFF Chris and sometimes Ryan will find Chris's cat just chillin in their cabin with Levi because he ~~steals~~ babysits her.

Maggie

fensterln is the Headgirl and a Senior Ebonhide. She has all his classes with him except HoM, and they're in Duelling club together! Her mama is a well-known politician in Canada's MoM and it's not a secret that she is a Travers and Maggie is related to at least one publicly known Death Eater. So that might be something??

Oddly, I think he'll really like Levi. He is awkward at times and doomy but he does play well at being outgoing and he is naturally charming so that helps. Still, he needs people to push him to do things, and Levi probably will LOVE doing that. Plus, Levi is involved with his bestie (god he hates when I use that term) so he earns Ryan's loyalty by default. Chris's cat and Ryan's are friends because Chris' mom picked him out for Ryan so he is totally cool with that.

OOOOO. He might not know the Death Eater terms off the bat, but he'd learn. And while he wants to approach someone who also has family involved in that mess, he probably wouldn't ever. Unless she brings it up? I dunno. But they'll still probably be cool. :)

Holden grew up in Dorchester! He's seriously wondering if there's something in the water there. He honestly would not be surprised. Ryan might recognize his accent, because it hits you like a ton of Wahlbergs. OH and he went to muggle school with Chris! He probably recognized him all O_O sup when they got to school together. But he's a shy doormat so that's probably all they've got going.

Ryan might recognize Sylla's last name as dark arts related and legacy-linked, not that she ever really talks about it, because ugh how gauche. Yeah she has some dead/imprisoned Rosiers and Selwyns back in the old family tree if he digs hard enough, but why talk about that when she can be enigmatic and questionable as well! She's in dueling with him, and generally creeps around the rest of the time.

And then there's this boy Wes! Coppertale Senior, Cajun AF, Potions talent and destined to be a faith healer some day (soon he hopes, but lbr, that ain't in the cards). He's an open book and his personal image he projects is sweet as Louisiana pecan pie, with unbelievable cocky swaggery a la mode. omg honey find yo chill that bad boy thang ain't cute~ He'll try to cheer him up, because that's generally his role in Coppertale, anyway, and it generally radiates outward also :P
