PLOT CALENDAR: March
Please note: As this is a shortened month, we are limiting plot calendar spots to one per player, thank you! If a slot is not taken on the day of the event, you may ask to take it with your character, regardless of whether or not they already have a slot.
MARCH
🌕 SNOW MOON
Jaime Castillo is cleaning the stables, and eventually gets around to Bluebell's stall. Ordinarily, this is a little awkward since she's so skittish with them, but today the encounter is warmer. The student focuses on their work, and is surprised when Bluebell snuffles at their neck affectionately, looking for some attention.
After curfew, Ennis Harper goes for a late night bathroom break and spots a massive black shadow circling the cabins. Who's out there?! It's only Brother, in moose form, and for some reason, the student feels comforted by his presence. You are safe, says a voiceless voice, like wind through heavy tree branches. Brother stands and waits when he notices them watching, and only disappears into the woods again when he sees them go back into the safety of their cabin.

Casper Kim is hanging out with Ulysses Quayle, who begins gossiping rather unkindly, although what they say isn't untrue. Casper is listening when they notice that there's something off about Ulysses' appearance: the monogram on his shirt is incorrect. They start to grill this imposter, who excuses themselves in a huff. Casper grabs their bag to follow, but when they look up, the mimic is gone.
🎂 Happy birthday, Clementine Decourt!

- Griffin Flowers drags themselves out of bed early to use the washroom, but just as they sit on the toilet, something brushes their bum and they scream. There's a massive roach in the toilet bowl!
- Mr. Hightower gives Ursula de Luca permission to make a pinup calendar and/or trading cards to sell for funding future Event Committee projects. He only asks that she keep it "tasteful."
- Max Pendergast opens their locker to find it teeming with baby yellow sac spiders that have apparently hatched overnight. Luckily, Dr. O'Hare happens to be nearby, and helps them in clearing the spiders out and moving them back into the forest. "Ignore them, they're just mean children," he tells the baby spiders at one point. Is he talking about you?
- In Charms this week, all students are taught basic hexes and jinxes for self-defense, especially those who aren't into offensive magic. Casper Kim is asked to help with these specialized lessons, since Mr. C-B isn't the greatest duellist. While studying these spells, Joshua Fairbrass accidentally severely Stupefies Mr. Calderon-Boot in the middle of the lesson, cutting it short when he has to be carried to the infirmary by his students.
Cameron Carney is practicing one of their numbers on stage when a light from above suddenly comes crashing down, narrowly missing them. Jade Otterwell was up in the catwalks earlier today, but they swear they're not responsible. They were only up there because they thought they saw a pale figure moving up in the rafters, but there was nothing when they investigated.
🔮 Ward Failure Event:
- Today marks the beginning of the Ward Failure event. Any wards written today or tomorrow qualify for being exposed to the public on March 9.
- An info post will go up later in the OOC comm, which will be open for submissions. Only warded convos that are submitted to this post will be unwarded on the 9th. We'll compile a list from these submissions so people can quickly reference what their characters can see.
- Anything not submitted to this post is assumed to still be warded, so you can still have private conversations safely during this time.
Ward Failure Event: the reveal.
- A post from Martin Pratt appears on the journals again, this time with some information about why this happened, and who's responsible.
🌑 NEW MOON
With the journals back in working order, does this mean the Anonymous Post will appear tonight?
🌠 Thanks to Phineas Bones's recent actions, the senior Coppertale boys' cabin gets pranked in a hit and run!!

🎂 Happy birthday, Karen Zabinsky!
- Gweneth Popplestone's familiar has a bad run-in with a wild coyote (confirmed to not be an Animagus) and ends up a little worse for wear. Mrs. O'Hare has Kurt Wolfhart help her patch the poor thing up.
- Things are going well in Healer Mufferaw's class. From now on, all students in Pre-Healer Studies can mend serious cuts and bruises, as well as cast a Pain-Relieving Charm that eases pain in a generalized area for up to an hour. A bit gruesomely, Mufferaw lets the more confident students practice on a long gash in his own arm, which he cuts with magic. Rosemary Stoker is the only one who manages to heal it without even a pink scar or any trace of the original wound.
🎂 Happy birthday, Rupert Wick!
🔮 Paris Holloway is out walking with Pandora Lacey, who begins to awkwardly confess their attraction to them. Interrupting the moment, Paris spots Bluebell the unicorn wandering free, coming towards them at a trot, then a canter. Pandora bares their teeth at the magical creature, looking very unlike themselves, and turns and bolts into the woods. Paris is left alone with Bluebell and the cold realization that they were talking to a mimic.

- Micah St. Clair and some friends sneak out to go to Logan for booze and research. Salem Wagonblast nearly catches them, but Calvin Evercreech intentionally lags behind and allows himself to be caught so everyone else can continue with their plan.
- Senior Charms students attempt to learn the Protean Charm, with mixed results. Webster Knox manages to get a dime to link to their cat's ID tag on their collar, but no one else has much success this month.
Beware the Ides of March, and also the ANNUAL GOOSEBERRY HUNGER GAMES! Sylvester Stoker and Reid Wainwright were given the responsibility of carrying on the proud (?) tradition this year. The game that will take place over the course of the week, running from Mar 15 to Mar 22.
- This game has been played for the past four years at Gooseberry. Last year, the winner was a graduate, and the year before that was Estella Morales-Tran. Meanwhile, Corrigan Bailey has the unfortunate luck of having been killed on the first day on every previous year they've participated, but this year they're going to turn things around!
- On Thursday, everyone will find a plastic knife that's been slid into their locker. The knife has the name of another participant written on it.
- You then have to 'kill' that person by prodding them gently with your knife. After they 'die', you then take their knife, and have to go after their target next.
- There are rules:
- You may not 'kill' someone while they're naked.
- You may not 'kill' someone in their cabin, the bathroom, the showers, during a Grotto party, or in the cafeteria.
- You may not 'kill' someone in front of a teacher. This is largely so that staff doesn't catch onto this definitely reasonable and well-organized game created by sensible children.
- If you actually hurt the other person in your murder attempt, you're out of the game. The person who was injured takes your knife, and it'll be as though they killed you. (See!!! This is safe and harmless!!!)
- Every day during that week, there will be a post on the OOC comm saying who will be "killed" today and by whom, with updates on everyone's new targets. Making references to playing the game, plotting or strategizing on the journals will increase your chances of winning.
- The winner is the last student standing, and the prize is 200 dragots and a bottle of vodka. As per tradition, it's nice vodka.
- SIGN UP HERE. If you want to participate, your character will be included in the Hunger Games wards. If you sign up, it's assumed your character is someone who will not ruin the game. (You must be signed up by Mar 13 to be included, because I can't write in new participants!
- While no one is going to get in real trouble, this game is clearly skirting the line and there may be IC consequences for wild behavior (i.e. hurting someone). However, merely participating in the game won't have any consequences.
Natalie Prince needs to get back to their cabin but they don't have a buddy. In a stroke of luck, though, they see the rest of their roommates coming up the path. Tally joins them, and for a little while, everything's normal. Slowly, however, the mood changes as the topic turns to their grievances with Tally. The conversation starts to get abusive once they're far enough away from any camp or building, and finally one of them shoves Tally to the ground. Before it can escalate further, there's a flash of magic, and the attackers scream. Three dissolve into ash, and the fourth runs off as a middle aged female Auror runs over to check on the student. She introduces herself as Agent Lopez, and escorts them back to safety.
🎂 Happy birthday, Gweneth Popplestone!
St. Patrick's Day. The Grotto party always promises to be an intense one, with contests for who gets the most kisses, and who can drink the most without dying.

- A group of freshmen have named themselves the Pinch Patrol and spend all day pinching people for not wearing any green. Lilika Ignacz gets pinched by three of them on separate occasions. Meanwhile, [Character R] somehow gets recruited into their ranks, and gives [Character S] a pinch for their lack of St. Patrick spirit.
- There will be games of Spin the Bottle and Seven Minutes in Heaven at the Grotto. If your character would like to participate, SIGN UP HERE.
- At the end of the night, the heartiest drinker will be named King or Queen of St. Patrick's Day. There's a gaudy crown on the line, and the winner will be carried back to their cabin by the remaining drunken survivors at the end of the night. (Yes, they'll probably be dropped at least once.) People who participated in the drinking games (and anyone else who wants to play along) are expected to refer to them as "Your Highness" for the next week and bow when they enter the room.
- In order to be crowned, your character will need to participate in drinking games! The more you participate, the higher your score is. However, the higher your score is, the more likely you are to pass out or vomit. Whoever has the highest score without passing out or puking wins!
A good number of students are severely hungover this morning, despite reminders about drinking water and Adeline Foster-Hayes' potions. Avery Davenport ended up falling asleep in Regan Hobbs's cabin, and no one even noticed. How did they end up there???
🎂 Happy birthday, Cole Moss!

🔮 Veronica Powers cuts themselves pretty badly on a "prop" razor, and bleeds all over Cameron Carney before Jonah Pitchford can patch them up. Micah St. Clair wants several photos of the carnage. Mrs. Acuna confiscates the real Victorian razor, which was brought in as a model for the prop razors. Apparently it got mixed in by accident when a freshman didn't respect Cassius Holcomb's rules.
Sophomore students begin their lessons for their pre-Apparition licenses. Mr. Calderon-Boot and Lucas Kowalski supervise. Quentin Youngblood surprises everyone by making progress on their first attempt... but they end up splinching themselves (just a couple fingers) and are rushed to Healer Mufferaw. It's not serious, luckily, but Mr. Calderon-Boot sternly warns everyone to not try anything before he lets them know it's safe.
It's a nice day out, and Tobias Rush is enjoying a sandwich out on the balcony of the lodge. The peace doesn't last, though, as they're quickly mobbed by real blue jays out to steal their lunch.
All day long the freshmen stare, point and giggle at Sofia Delgado and no one can figure out why. Eventually, it's found out that they're a dead ringer for a hot new wizarding pop star the freshmen are obsessed with, named Skyler Gibson. The likeness is truly remarkable.

- During Spring Break, graduated characters may make cameos. Just as with Parent-Teacher Conferences, they cannot comment on or write journal entries, but may appear in IC/OOCs off-campus, or in logs. (They cannot post their own IC/OOCs, unless it's been cleared with the mods.)
- Closer to this date, there will be a form to request having your graduate cameo, and if approved, we'll re-invite them to the comms.
