Hey gang! Katie here with my sixth character! What am I thinking???
This is Sandford Owsley, who typically goes by Sandy. He's a pureblood kiddo from a magically-isolated island off the coast of Washington, a Ribbonfin senior (Big Fish!), the president of the Boating Club (insert fish jokes here), and a reserve member of the Quidditch team.
Concept: Optimistic animist and helpful busybody out to heal the world.
Classes: Charms, Herbology, History of Magic, Outdoor Education, Potions, Magical Rudiments, Pre-Healer Studies
Clubs: Boating (President), Crafting, LARP, Outdoor Exploration, Quidditch (Reserve)
Sandy is an optimistic and friendly boy that's largely focused on healing and health (physical, mental, and spiritual!) because of experiences with his grandmother and her long-term health problems. He's an encouraging caretaker-type that can sometimes be a little too nosy and a little too pushy but always means well. If you're his friend, getting him to mind his own business can be difficult. But he'll try. If he has to.
He feels that he has a ~spiritual~ connection to nature and believes that everything is connected and that everything has an energy and a soul that can impact the things around it, so ~balance~ is very important. While he isn't likely to trap anyone in a corner and talk philosophy, he may very earnestly tell them to carry this piece of carnelian in their pocket if they need a pick-me-up because it will stimulate their inner star. Don't worry about it. What this means more practically is that he always wants to be outside if he can (he's especially fond of the water, obviously!) and that he takes most things in stride because the universe has got this, guys.

Other Stuff:
- Sandy isn't a naturally bright student. He works hard and he does well enough, but he's better at things that require hands-on work/practice and social skills than anything academic. He's a solid B-student in everything but Potions and Pre-Healer Studies, where he manages to be a low A-student. He makes himself study but he's not a fan.
- He cooks! But he's a vegetarian and a health-food nut, so...you know. A lot of people might not want to come anywhere near his cooking. He also likes spice. A lot. Is this even edible to anyone but him?
- He's got fancy MACUSA parents with fancy MACUSA jobs! While they don't drag their children to more functions than they need to for the sake of image, Sandy's certainly not a stranger to other MACUSA kids and he knows how to conduct himself at a fancy party.
- During sophomore year, Sandy dated Eileen! It was very much an opposites-attract situation and they seemed pretty happy until Eileen abruptly dumped him. Whoops? He's over it but still has a soft spot for the Coppertale. If she calls, he'll probably come running.
- Because he can't swim all year (horrible but true!), he does other things to stay fit too. This includes things like running and lifting weights, but he's also been doing Taekwondo for a number of years. He's quite good but he's got no interest in fighting. It's for health, guys! He also plays Quidditch! Though, maybe not that well, since it took him four years to get a reserve spot. He's still quite happy about it, though.

I'll say some stuff about my other dumb kids later I promise. Or maybe I'll just talk to you on the phone.

I mean. Either way. ♥

OK OTHER CHILDREN, Ramon who is on quid with him. Probably actually likes Sandy pretty well, because he's so chill. Thinks his rock stuff and various other naturalism feelings are stupid, but he'll listen with mild curiosity at least. Also in crafting together.
Hazel thinks he's cute and weird probably??? They've got crafting and OE together (and she's also a Pre-Healer kid duh), buuuut don't really have a ton of interacting to do.
Jaime has rando classes with him, thinks he's very nice and cool!!! Nice people are great!! Phi probably has similar feelings/interactions with him. But she's less excited about him because gross, people, something.
Rupert is a Ribbonfin but that's it, ignore him.

Obviously Avery is most relevant. Fellow big fish, they share classes a club, and Quidditch!!! I think she really likes and appreciates his attitude and one with nature feel. I imagine she could listen to him talk about that stuff for ages because she likes people who are passionate about things. We should plot stuff re: quidditch!!
Oz will also dig him and they should be friends.
Dia ADORES his use of spices and wants to cook with him even tho it's veggie food
The rest are only minorly relevant we'll see how they interact!!

He's down to cook all the things, Dia! I don't imagine Sandy will host lil' cooking events like she does but I'm sure they've crossed paths in the Rudiments room and he's impressed with her cooking too. :o Even if he can't eat it.
no subject
Hey Dia sometimes makes food vegetarians can eat!!! And yes Dia is just obsessed with Mealtimes and all her old school family recipes feed armies so xD She'd be swooning if you weren't a vegetarian, Sandy.

Quentin is irrelevant and solo is aware of his existence (but he dropped boating after he nearly drowned on land during last year’s end game). But they’re in OE together.
no subject
You know, Solo. That's understandable. :( But Sandy is sad for anyone that doesn't get to enjoy the lake!

Addy will probably like him a whole lot toooo
I DON'T KNOW IF ANY OF MY NOT-SENIORS ARE THAT RELEVANT HERE BUT??
no subject
Addy is very sweet and I can't imagine they won't get along. Sandy also does well in Potions class, but he has to work at it and so he may bother her with questions and whatnot. Consider him a frequent flyer during her office hours.

and ulysses
and marie
very bad luck all around

madison is probably most relevant!! i feel like she really likes sandford but also doesn't understand him, lmao. they have similar struggles w academic stuff -- she has to work super hard for her grades. she's also a martial arts kid!! (ribbonfin really should start that fight club because there is some skill in that house). they're also ~purebloods~ etc
phin would probably also like him well enough. his mum is into similar spiritual stuff so he can talk the talk :p
wilde's like... wilde. i can't tell whether or not they'd get along but he wouldn't be awful or anything .-.
and panda thinks sandford is handsome and admires his devotion to ~the~healing~arts~ but probably isn't super relevant

So, he'll probably interact most with Calvin. I'm pretty certain Calvin's going to find him mildly exasperating, and he doesn't buy into a lick of his nature child thing. That said, Calvin also likes eccentrics and as long as they're not fighting with him, he's willing to humor oddballs a lot. SO I GUESS WHAT I'M SAYING is that if Sandy can handle Calvin being Calvin, Calvin complaining about how balancing his chakras is nonsense will be pretty toothless.
Reid's in his year and associated with all those big foxes. He... does not know what to make of Sandy, but he'll go along with whatever if it's harmless and the person pitching it can talk in big sentences.
Kenzie's the cousin of his roommate, Kurt. She probably used to affectionately terrorize him before settling down. ....She may still do it sometimes anyway.
Ophelia's the OE president with a fancy MACUSA dad! Sandy sounds like PRIME bullliable hot Ribbonfin material and she has her EYES ON HIM. She may dump Jaime at the dance to hit on Sandy.
Spencer and Archie probably won't cross paths with him a lot! He might run into Spencer by way of cooking. Spencer's not a vegetarian but Ira's vegan and Spencer loves Ira so he can talk the talk.

Um, obviously we need to figure out if he and Gwen are friendly (why would they not be??). They have Quidditch in common, AND I forgot that her grandmother is MACUSA.
I don't think I have anything for Teddy or Juniper for him but....you never know!

Anyways, late reply, but I'm excited that he's in the game!
