WIZARD COTILLION SIGNUPS

On November 12, select students will venture to New York City for the National Wizarding Cotillion.
  • Students must sign up in pairs to be admitted. Dates are mandatory. Because this is Gooseberry and the staff knows their students, pairs can be any gender combination. One student signs up to wear black and learn traditionally masculine manners, and the other signs up to wear white and learn traditionally feminine manners. This is very likely to scandalize some old money families that are liable to attend the ball, but Headmistress Bloom seems unconcerned.

  • If you cannot find a partner for your character and you desperately want them to attend, we'll do a little "pair the spares" right before the event. If there's an uneven number, you'll get to attend with an NPC date. Please do not sign up at this time if you do not have a date.

  • Prior to the dance, the pairs will attend a week of classes learning dancing, many various table settings, how to handle themselves at business dealings, and generally be shown how to pass as a poised adult in professional or blueblood wizarding settings.

  • The event does require a fee, which will be billed to the student's family members. Certain overbearing parents may attempt to force their children to join, as this is a prestigious opportunity and an excellent way to meet important people. Scholarship students will have the fee covered if they wish to join in.

  • Attendance at the Cotillion is not required... but the event is being hosted off-site in New York City, and it's not being overseen by Gooseberry staff. Chances are good that attendees will get at least a couple hours of unsupervised time in the big city.

  • If you would like your character to take part, fill out the form below:

  • Headmistress Bloom has also volunteered Gooseberry to perform the music at the cotillion, considering the school's reputation for exceptional teens. If your student signs up for this, they cannot participate directly in the dance, but will instead perform classical music for the event. Hey, at least they'll still get to eat and wear fancy clothes. If you would like your character to be a musician, fill out the form below:

Remember to submit by 11:59 PM (MT) on Tuesday, November 10 in order to guarantee participation.
