Reid and him were kinda boyfriends at Ilvermorny, and when Reid was accepted to Gooseberry he just kind of stopped talking to him. He didn't find out Reid had transferred until he showed up at Ilvermorny and Reid was gone. He was mad at Reid, Reid responded by pretending he didn't care and ran away. Again.
Mina spent a few months telling him where to stand and what to wear which was kind of like dating.
