Hometown: Bath, Somerset, England. The Evercreeches all cram into a small flat together. Calvin shares a room with his two younger brothers.
School History: He arrived at Gooseberry freshman year as an exchange student. Before Gooseberry, he went to Hogwarts and was sorted into Slytherin. Class Involvement:

• Calvin is all business in class. He prizes his academic excellence, even if his study methods focus more on achieving A's than learning. He's quick to answer questions and gets short and snippy with people who derail class. If he dislikes you, he's mean about it. If he likes you, it probably turns into banter and then he gets in trouble, too. THANKS, GUYS. >:(
• Calvin usually studies alone. However, when he can be coerced into joining a study group, he's incredibly useful. Calvin's good at working out patterns and systems, and is great for helping people to focus on what's likely to be on the test.
• He gets perfect A's even when he only has a superficial understanding of the material. Some teachers are better at challenging his "work smart, not hard" system than others. He's very bright but would rather play the system than waste time learning everything.

Campus Presence:

• TO NO ONE'S GREAT SURPRISE, Calvin's not very social or easily accessible. He's usually hiding out in his cabin to study, and only gets out when a friend coerces him or he has class/clubs. He's a lot easier to talk into socialising than he used to be.
• Duelling & Fencing vice president!
• Quidditch Beater! He promises to be nice to his team and only a little difficult. :( He cares more about WINNING than the average Ribbonfin. His approach to Quidditch is very Slytherin.

Party Time:

• Calvin usually goes to Grotto parties... but doesn't enjoy them a great deal. He's the kid that shows up, immediately feels out of place, and slips off early. He'll be continuing this trend to help Micah.
• He drinks rarely, but enjoys getting tipsy if he's with friends. He's a silly drunk and loses his inhibitions very quickly when under the influence. He's yet to do anything truly regrettable while drunk, so he isn't especially fearful of the consequences. He doesn't smoke, though.
• Sometimes joined kissing games even though he sometimes struggles to enjoy actually kissing. It's not kissing itself so much as how uncomfortable he feels getting physically close to people. He's likely to try again in Year 2 with similar results.

Best Friends:

• Damon Evercreech, older brother, graduated Coppertale/Gryffindor. Calvin followed him around a loooot while he was at Gooseberry.
• Regard Hobbs, the first person who manged to get through to Calvin when he arrived at Gooseberry. They have some conflict from time to time over the honesty-dishonest divide, but Calvin loves her.
• Micah St. Clair, whose romantic advances he shut down pretty severely last winter break. Especially after the whole anti-anti-prom debacle, Calvin feels pretty close to Micah.
• Cole Moss, who he's still fond of despite their sudden breakup. He feels obligated to look out for Cole.
• Calvin also has soft spots for Cash, Hazel, Essie, Jade and Ramon in particular, even if they're not people he'd go to for emotional support.

Cliques: Calvin is often in the middle of the massive Sophomore group clique and frequently argues for solidarity and being insular. He's pretty protective of those who were nervous about being caught and switched into PROBLEM SOLVING mode.
Out-of-School Social Circles: I guess the other British kids could find him if they wanted to?

The Not Friends:

• Ennis and Calvin don't care for one another, with Calvin's relationship with Cole being their major point of contention.
• Last I knew there wasn't much love between Calvin and Solo and Issy following Calvin forcing them into silence re: the seance.
• I'M SURE THERE ARE OTHERS. I don't think Calvin has any ~enemies~ in the game, but nor is he charming and universally loved. He's shown himself as a little too willing to step on people he's not close to in order to elevate/protect those he cares about. That's not about to change.

Sexuality: Exclusively interested in boys. Calvin's never really tried to pretend otherwise.
Dating History:

• Semi-secretly used to be involved with Samuel Goyle, his old Slytherin roommate. They were little so it didn't go beyond preteen makeouts and a way-too-intense boarding school friendship. When it became too much for Calvin to handle, escaping Sam was one of Calvin's primary motivations for applying to Gooseberry. Despite this, Calvin is still kind of friends with him.
• Dated Cole Moss, his current Ribbonfin roommate, for the latter half of Sophomore year. Calvin broke up with him when he thought he wouldn't be returning junior year.

Current Relationship Status: Single and presumably interested, but Calvin is still so, so bad at this relationship stuff.
The Messy Bits:

• His breakup with Cole last year was not exactly clean, and Calvin didn't handle it very sensitively. He immediate acted like he was soooo over it, even though Cole clearly wasn't.
• He's tried to clumsily flirt with Todd a couple times and regretted it immensely.
• There was a short-lived rumor he and Cash had a thing when they were dryly "flirting" but I think Ree killed that dead.
• Freshman and sophomore year Micah was head over heels for him and Calvin haaaaated it, but now they're Just Friends.
• Notoriously responds with panic when cute boys flirt with him or people accuse him of having crushes, even if he was definitely trying to flirt five seconds ago.

Common Knowledge:

• As a freshman, Calvin was incredibly mean to everyone and extremely unapproachable. He was going through a lot of personal stuff, and took it out on everyone else.
• Up until the middle of sophomore year, Sy Stoker bullied him pretty relentlessly.
• Since freshman year he's softened a lot, but still tends to be pretty abrasive.
• Last year, something traumatizing happened to his brother, and after that Calvin was under the impression he would not be returning to Gooseberry.
• Calvin was not a very nice person at Hogwarts.

Personal Stuff:

• It's not widely known just how awful of a bully Calvin was pre-Gooseberry. It was bad. I think at this point only Micah has been told specifics because Calvin got drunk and shared stories. Pippa and Ari would know because... well. They were there.
• His home life is really unpleasant and chaotic, and Damon's the only brother he doesn't actively hate.
• He loves his parents but they're pretty emotionally neglectful. Damon probably ended up shouldering most of the burden of raising Calvin. It's not Dimi's fault he turned out this way. Sorry Dimi.
• He still writes Sam semi-regularly. Calvin can't bring himself to cut Sam out, even though he really should.

The Secrets:

• He has a number of aunts/uncles/cousins serving time in Azkaban for Death Eater related crimes.
• Pretty stressed about this gender identity thing. If he hadn't gone to Gooseberry, it's unlikely Calvin would ever get anywhere close to articulating his discomfort. He's decided to bury these feelings and never think about them because that's easier.
