hihi! this is Lena and I bring you a third, also a ~~baby~~soph: Aiden Guthrie

THINGS TO KNOW:
♠ Coppertale soph! Whose concept is: aspiring dragon tamer makes sulking an art form
♠ Classes: Charms, Herbology, OE, Potions, Transfiguration, DADA, Magizoology
♠ Extracurriculars: Quidditch team for Coppertale. Equestrian. Gardening. OE. Duelling.
♠ He came to GB because his bro was here and his mom thought it was the Best Idea to have him follow suit. He was in his 'I hate the world' phase back then so mommy thought it would help him bond or something. It didn't. Not until after freshman year at least. Then beginning of soph year you could maybe catch rare glimpses of him smiling. Now he's back to sulking because his older brother is leaving school. He's good at it. Sulking.
♠ About 90% of the reason for his sulking is because he was bullied in school prior to GB and has some minor degree of separation anxiety. 10% is because that's just the way he was built, probably.
♠ He doesn't trust you. It's not anything you did. It's not personal. And it may not be anything you can change. It's just the way he is.
♠ He has a pet snake named Saffy. It's a harmless smol kingsnake but he's spent the better part of last year convincing everybody she's a deadly poisonous coral snake because he could. He has bonded with her because he's also cold and dead in his heart. Sorry, roomies.
♠ Hates bullies. So he probably hates all the mean girls too, tbh.
♠ Wants to be a dragon tamer. Which may explain his username. Or it might not.

LOOKING FOR:
♠ QUIDDITCH FOLK: he's had a tumultuous year where flying is concerned. He's crushed they lost. But more specifically, I also had it down that there were certain more nurturing individuals on their team who helped him sort of find his niche and grow into his place on the team. If that sounds like that could be you, lmk!
♠ FRIEND(S): This baby does not mix well. With people specifically. But possibly also just anything in general. He needs to have the one person to be grumpy with though. Give me that, please.
♠ CRUSHES: okay so Aiden is demi-sexual. Meaning he can't actually develop attraction to anyone unless that person is a really good friend to him first. I think at this point, the poor bb probs thinks he is just ace. It's gonna confuse the fuck out of him when he first realises that he isn't actually. Idek if this is a thing that will happen bc who the hell plans that far ahead lol. But it is just something to bear in mind maybe? And linked to the above point.
♠ TUTORS: also because Aiden is easily my least sociable character, I am going to force interaction on him in the form of tutors. He's decent in Magizoology and DADA, but not so great at Potions and Herbology. If you think your character was good enough to be recommended by a teacher for either of those subjects also lmk pls!
♠ RELEVANT FOR THE IMMEDIATE FUTURE: Aiden's current default state is sulkfest. Someone could wonder what's up with that maybe? Or counsel him that the seniors leaving ISN'T THE END OF THE WORLD (it just feels like it is T_T).

Ok so first - Chris has a history of being a decent mentor back when we created the hockey league. So he could be quidditch folk? Coppertale quidditch was like a family, so he could've been mentory with aiden to help stabilize on the team and improve. He's also grumpy and not very warm so that might've appealed?

Second, my only sophomore is Solomon and he's the opposite of grumpy. He's very open and understanding. But he's also very chill and mellow, and used to grumpy people so they could be friends, if Aidens open to it.

The other three don't feel very relevant.

I think Aiden would be grateful for Chris. Altho tbh their whole team isn't the most nurturing, let's face it. But I like the idea of mini!grumpy tagging along with actual!grumpy during practice.

I don't know that Aiden actually ventures that far out of his own cabin, tbh. But if he does, I am definitely up for Aiden completely not understanding Solo and what he views as the boy's peculiar brand of masochism lol.

I know she's not grumpy but Ana is on quidditch with him AND in his house. I feel like she should worm her way in as a friend. (Plus she loves those coppertale soph boys too)

The other lost relevant is Marilyn. She has a dad that's a dragon tamer, loooooooobes dragons, and has her own back on the reserve! So. Sorry your grumpy Aiden but I think Mare should be someone you like too.

Milo thinks he's cool but isn't pushy enough to make him be social or grumpy enough of the time to be his grump buddy but. He'll still get along with him.

Tbh, Ana being on the same team and house probably means that they know each other WELL ENOUGH, to the contrary of whatever Aiden claims because he is such an anti-social bb. D: I like to think he is marginally more chill and relaxed with his actual Quidditch teammates.

And Aiden would be a bit googly-eyed with Marilyn if he finds out about her dad tbh. Let's HAVE HIM FIND OUT ABOUT HER DAD.

Pippa wants Aiden to turn that frown upside down! She's sensitive to other people's moods and is pretty :( at him constantly sulking. She's probably asked him if he wants to ~talk~ about anything, or has given him encouraging smiles. She completely believes his snake is poisonous.

Coralee is a mean girl who would love to sharpen her claws on Aiden.

Etta is a rival Quidditch folk... person. She says she'd sulk too if she was on the Coppertale team. #burn

Irene won't have much reason to interact with him.

Pippa! is adorable. I think Aiden will react maybe not so positively to the encouraging smiles. Like 'omg why is she smiling at me. why can anyone smile so much. go away pls' But he will be secretly amused that she believes Saffy is poisonous. Enough that he will actively interact with her, I think. (I'm sorry he's a terror!!)

Aiden does not like you Coralee. You are a bully and you are mean. He will scratch back, tbh.

He side-eyes Etta so hard. Really? Is that necessary. And goes away to lick his Quid-related wounds.

HEY ROOMIE. Todd is my most relevant here. While Todd wouldn't dislike him or anything I imagine that he's probably a lil much for Aiden since he's just like... always 110%. Very loud, always talking. It's hard for the Coppersoph boys to catch any peace when Todd's going off about something (which he does, frequently, because he has a lot of Opinions). Anyway I think he probably likes Aiden just fine but if Aiden's ever like, grumpy or even just like "hey pipe down" Todd will probably be like "why are you so no fun, Guthrie".

Faye is (was?) on the Coppertale team with him as a fellow chaser! She is... also a little bit a lot. She calls all the Coppertale sophomores her babies even if they don't like it and she probably has especially embarrassing nicknames for the Quidditch sophs so she might call him like... "baby boy" or something. I'm so sorry Aiden all my kids are awful.

Ariadne has been getting her transfig tutoring from his older brother, and is also working with Asher on the school newspaper now, so she's been hanging around Asher a lot this past month. She also just joined gardening club so he's probably seeing more of her in general than he used to. She is a mean girl so he has full license to not like her, but she's also a grumpy ass that doesn't trust anybody and is generally pretty decent to the other people in equestrian club. So if you're into it maybe they can be like... 10 minute a week friends and she's grumpy with him and he's like "hey have you considered maybe stop being an asshole" or something.

Clem is another Quidditch person... but she's... yeah she's a loud idiot I'm really sorry I don't know how this happened I'll leave Aiden alone now lmao

Reece & Ivy probably don't have much for him, but Ivy would make a decent tutor and is good friends with Asher!

Lol yes Todd. I totally agree with that assessment. Picture him saying this in the driest of tones "what insanely stupid and positively suicidal thing are you on about now?" But he will also secretly worry about you Todd! He will panic if any of his cabin mates don't get back before curfew. He just won't ever admit it! Also ps: is Todd afraid of snakes?

Aiden hates 'baby boy'. No ty. think of another one pls he says. But he probably has a soft spot for Faye, tbh. I think she could really be one of the seniors he looked up to in the team and would have been grateful for any guidance. He would :( majorly bc she's leaving end of year.

I love the idea of him and Ari being grumpy at each other! But tbh, he gets that not trusting anybody thing tho. It's still no excuse to be mean at anybody, but that calling her out on it is definitely something that I could see happening.

Clem is awesome at Quidditch and Aiden is probably secretly super impressed by her. :) And I think I would like him to have Ivy as a tutor! Maybe Herbology?

She can tutor him if you like, but if other people snatch up those roles let 'em have it, it's cool, I keep offering her for this stuff and maybe it isn't fair to others IDK IDK IDK.

Ree is a Quidditch sophomore and she has a soft-spot for the bullied and like sticking up for people, so.

I agree! And tbh Aiden may appear rather frequently around the Ribbongents dorm the next month or so because of the aforementioned anxiety issues so Isaiah will definitely see him around!

There's only Ivy at the moment! So we can totally have Saira tutor him in the other subject! More is always good. Esp with anti-social bbs.

Ree is lovely. I think Aiden probably thinks so too. And the fact that she likes to stick up for the underdog is immensely appealing to him. I think they should be friendly. :)

Obviously there's decent overlap for Isabelle & Sam re: Aidan. They share some classes and there's some clubs too. Sam will be Sam at him, just her usual flirty and somewhat sarcastic self. I think Issy would wonder what's up with him, but she is sulking a lot too at the seniors leaving. Her BFFs are seniors and she is ~lost~ without them. They can sulk together? lol

Avery would know him through OE activities, esp when OE/Equestrian do stuff together, plus Dueling & Fencing, and then there's Quidditch. She is a good person and nice all around, and would be kind to him. She could easily council him on the seniors leaving being not the end of the world. ALSO, during that Amortentia debacle, her and Asher fell in love all gooey like until it wore off so there's that for added embarrassment on her part.

Oscar doesn't share anything with him but dude bro he is so happy to be friends with anyone.

Penelope is irrelevant other than she's also a coppertale. :)
