- CLASSES: Charms, Hermeticism, History of Magic, Potions, Transfiguration, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Occlumency.
- EXTRAS: Duelling & Fencing, Gardening, Event Committee, Boating.
- she grew up in an exceptional family: only two years old when the second wizarding war ended and her dad was named minister for magic (which he's been ever since), she grew up publicly. the UK wizarding public knew pretty much everything about her and THAT'S A LOT OF FUN. there were also Expectations as not only the minister's daughter, but as the daughter of kingsley shacklebolt (master dueller, renowned auror) and clara fawley (well-known as a sacred 28 kiddo who became a legilimens at 17). she had to be intelligent, and personable, and talented, and gracious, and Good, and, and and—
- wants to be an auror (just like daddy~) but has decided to do it in the USA as a way of forging her own path. family knows part A, not part B.
- little sense of 'privacy' = if she wants to know the question she'll just ask, and she's very curious. nosy, a bit of a gossip.
- charismatic! good at putting on faces! great improvisor when someone commits a social snafu!
- romantic (good > evil), says she's a team player but tends to steamroll group efforts, fully commits to every project she digs (academic or not)
- ~loves to debate.~ plays the devil's advocate in many conflicts, whether or not her friends want to hear it.
- when she isn't good at something she drops it immediately so nobody can know she isn't good at Everything. her excessive confidence is a cover for the fact that she thinks she only excels at things because the minister's daughter HAS TO EXCEL, and not because she earned it. these worries (which are not fact) are part of why she came to gooseberry.
- back at hogwarts she was much the same, but with the added bonus of her little sister, juno. juno is a ravenclaw a year below (i.e. a junior) and for a long time they were BFFs joined at the hip. they were supposed to come to gooseberry together last year but juno dropped out at the last minute because she found iris too controlling (she told iris it was because she would be homesick). they've been drifting apart ever since; last year at hogwarts, juno was finally able to be her own person without her sister's expectations heaped on her. she's having a great time. iris doesn't exactly know all of these details.

- short-lived exes? she hasn't been on a one-woman mission or anything, but she's tried to date a few people. (did she succeed??? INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW.) she gets bored easily, though, and quickly finds menial reasons to break it off after no more than a month or two. she's also game to be continual makeout buddies with one or two but doesn't hook up on the reg (... or ever.)

i think anuhea would like her. she's not a devil's advocate person or even really a debater, so much as someone who doesn't feel compelled to censor her opinions. she respects confidence, though, and she's friends with faye, which means the other senior coppergirls would surely be known to her. anu is a tiny bit of a Teenage Nihilist, so she probably doesn't get iris' romantic tendencies, but like, you do you girl.
mercy is an idealistic chatterbox who also lacks a sense of privacy!!! she likes everyone and will definitely think iris is a cutie. she's pretty much impossible to debate with, though, because she's like "UHM that's n?ice i guess" when people say wild shit. mercy is from mexico, so fellow foreigners. idk!!
ulysses shares her modus operandi (lmfao) and a ... not entirely dissimilar family background, albeit on this side of the atlantic. he's a junior in another house, but they might be acquainted by virtue of being in club blueblood, idk.
cash is a sophomore in her houuuse and he really admires all the coppertale seniors, so she might have seen his lil face around. but he is a Childe. and zach has no ties to her whatsoever! hooray!

Pippa is ~in awe~ of Iris because omg she's the Minister for Magic's daughter. Sadly Pippa isn't old enough/in the right house/fancy society enough to know Iris very well!
Irene spent a year at Hogwarts in Ravenclaw, so she would've known Iris before she came to Gooseberry and ALSO she'd probably know Juno! I think Iris is a bit too extroverted for Irene buuuut they could still be friendly acquaintances? And it will probably not be long before I mix up their names.
Etta would get on well with her I think!! They can swap hair care tips.

Faye's her roommate and I think would genuinely love her. They would've met while Faye was at Hogwarts and Faye's also gossipy and loud and the privileged daughter of famous people and loves arguing for the fun of it. Faye makes a point of not dating her roomies since her bad bad relationship with her Hogwarts roomie so probably not exes, but they should be close!
Ariadne is gonna avoid her like the damn PLAGUE, but she'd probably know and possibly like Ari's older brother Gareth? He would've been a year above her in Ravenclaw and is a genuinely charming and delightful person. He works for the Daily Prophet now and wants to write like historical/political books for a living. Gareth's been super concerned about Ari recently so he might have asked Iris to like. spy on her for him
