It's the final stretch!!! You've all been so patient and entertaining, here's one final meme to reward everyone. I call it the ALTERNATE UNIVERSE MEME BLITZ.

Have you ever imagined what your character would be like in another world? Another popular media property? Do you want to tell other people about it?

RULES

Under Alternate Universes, there will be a series of comments where there is a header, and possibly a short description below. Respond to these comments with what your character would be like in this world.

You may add your own universes! The mods are only aware of so many AU possibilities, so if you want to add your own, just comment to Alternate Universes with the AU in the comment title, and any other questions or needed information in the body of the comment.

Nate would be from D12 and he would die unless a pretty girl saved him.

Rosy would be a career from like D1 or 2. She wouldn't really have a choice, it would be a family affair. I could see her and Sy getting reaped in subsequent years (real dark would be them getting reaped the same year and ending up in the final two together, but that's too dark for 6:30 AM, I need my child murder to be light and fluffy). She would use whatever weapons she could grab, but she would probably be super brutal and use like a fucking bat or brass knuckles or something like that.

She would not be a sponsor favorite on her own. Her mentor would need to do the schmoozing for her because she might not come across as the lovely young lady she will certainly be if she wins. But there would probably still be a couple people watching as she works her way into the finals that are like, "nice, nice, she just beat someone to death with her bare hands then used the blood as face paint, that seems like something a winner would do."

If she won (it's a good thing not winning means death because she aint accepting any other conclusion anyways) she would be a pretty good, well-behaved victor. She'd fall into the Capitol life easily, any of the shitty things she was asked to do or remembered from the arena would get shoved super deep down. That's how coping works, you guys. But if Freddy ever got reaped, she would rip someone's eyeballs out and beat them to death with her souvenir brass knuckles.

CASEY: District 6. Casey is arrogant and thinks he's invincible, and he volunteers as tribute in place of his younger brother because he wants the glory and fame of a victor. His weapon of choice is a net because it's the only thing he found and he has no idea how to use it. He talks big and delivers little, surviving for the first few days after seducing the impressionable girl from D3 (don't worry, they're the same age) who defends him with her gadgets and shares her food. He's in his late teens and the sponsors love him: he's attractive, and if he doesn't have the chance to speak much, he seems very charming. Look at that smile! His own wiles are used against him when a Tribute from D2 seduces him. He dies with his pants down. The Gamemakers were unprepared (they didn't think he was that stupid) and the camera remains on him, unclothed, for 1.75 seconds before switching to another view. The Capitol employee responsible for the slow response time is 'fired' and found 12 hours later facedown in a gutter, dead. The Capitol maintains that was an unfortunate accident unrelated to the onscreen nudity.

KURT: Probably the Capitol, BUT FOR ARGUMENT'S SAKE: District 1, however, he was always too soft for Career training. There are three ways this can go:

(1) When Kurt is selected in the Reaping his older brother, a dedicated Career kid, volunteers because he knows Kurt wouldn't last ten minutes. Eddy survives a few days but eventually gets both his legs lopped off from an unfortunate wire incident and bleeds out. His Career pals loot his not-yet-corpse and leave him to die. He dies. Kurt never forgives himself and withdraws into himself, unresponsive. Thanks to D1's relationship to the Capitol his family can afford to put him in a 'home.' After five years of occasional visits they write him out of the will, do not visit, and speak about him as though he's dead. Only his father and his sister visit. Eventually, only his sister visits. This was really depressing.

(2) Eddy is too old to volunteer as tribute and Kurt has to go to the Thunderdome himself. The D1 girl is a ruthless Career who immediately abandons him. He tries to pick up a weapon but freezes and runs into the forest instead. Thankfully he spent much of his time pre-Games learning about the wilderness from a books (go go Gadget privilege!), and can survive reasonably well. He eventually comes across a groundhog-like mutant with an injured leg. They work together to chase down the bugs they need for food. After three days it turns out his mutant groundhog pal was a Gamemaker plant; the Gamekeepers flip the switch. It goes nuts and bites Kurt. It was venemous all along. Kurt dies a slow and painful death alone in the woods, except for his groundhog friend who didn't mean to do it and feels awful. His last thought is "At least I didn't have to hurt anything." He does with the groundhog curled up in the crook of his arm. The groundhog, surprisingly sentient for a mutant, is wracked with guilt and refuses to move. It dies of exposure.

(3) Kurt runs into the woods and, using his Knowledge from Books, evades capture for the entire game. He wins. He still feels dirty. I had to add this one in because thinking about Kurt dying was hurting me too much.

QUINN: District 8. "An urban place stinking of industrial fumes, the people housed in run-down tenements" yes, hello kind-of-a-steeltown, how are you doing today? Both sides of Quinn's families have been factory workers for decades and have the injuries and illnesses to show for it. Quinn is used to hard labour from a young age and spent a lot of those years (literally) fighting other children for the things she wanted. When Reaped, she proves to be an unexpectedly strong fighter with an aggressive fighting style and no ability to 'dial it down.' She claims she's there to survive but after two kills it's apparent that she's also there to pummel some motherfuckers. Her preferred weapons are a spear used primarily as a staff, and her fists. She does not win: although her approach is savage, ruthless, and effective, she lacks the strategy to defend herself in the long-term. While beating a Career into a bloody pulp, one of their associates evades notice until they pin her in the back of the head with a throwing knife.

the page this is on is on a cassian andor/reader shipfic. i didn't know "/reader" was a thing. back in my day people just wrote self-insert mary sues! what is it with this newfangled "benevolent fan-serving fanfiction"?!?!

Diego would be an escaped elven Circle mage. Originally Dalish, being caught and taken into the Circle was a traumatic experience for him. He ended up turning to blood magic to gain his freedom, and has been on the run ever since. Sweet-natured and hapless, but dangerous and destructive in battle. He constantly fears becoming an abomination, and once you romance him you get to hear about all that high quality angst.

Calvin is a human Circle mage who's grown up hiding behind his older brother, Dimi, who's a templar. As long as his brother is there, he sees no need to fight the Circle. Very intelligent and a survivor to the core, he knows the Circle is a terrible system, but he sees escape as too dangerous for the people he loves. Most of his outrage is reserved for his lyrium-addicted brother. He probably took Cole under his wing.

Kenzie is a human Orlesian bard. She loves court and all of its intricate dramas, and upon joining the party she seems pretty heartless. Killing is fun, and as long as she's entertained, she's down for all kinds of terrible things. Over the course of the game, she's revealed to be less evil and more goofy and weird. Her heart grows three sizes and she ends up caring about everyone.

this is me compensating for my lack of star wars EU knowledge.

full disclosure i wasn't smart enough to do this for real because i'm team six growlithes so i googled strategies for help building the PERFECT underestimated POKESQUAD

anyway, cash is... the opposite of #aesthetics. the goal is efficacy and efficiency, which means an even distribution of type and moves. he wants a perfectly balanced competitive team. uncool pokemon are welcome here (i'm looking at you, starmie).

blissey, skarmory, tyranitar, starmie, metagross, and breloom. his blissey, in partic, is a fuckin tank.

Diego is a relatively old Toreador who comes off as much younger than he is. He survives intrigues by playing dumb and letting people assume he's been turned recently instead of a few hundred years ago. He has to live a somewhat vagabond lifestyle as a result, or people will catch on. He ended up befriending Cecil at some point, and the two of them are... just terrible at being vampires. He still struggles with killing people, and gets enough for him and BFF to survive by charming people into letting him rob blood banks. He makes nice with the Camarilla in order to be left Alone. Needs to stop befriending humans, because they all die and he gets super sad about it every time.

Rafael is a Ventrue who recently entered INSERT CITY HERE with ambitions to become prince. He inspires equal parts loyalty and loathing, and as a vampire, Rafael is preeeeeetty ruthless. But the people that fall under his protection enjoy relative safety and his unfailing loyalty. He's an active member of the Camarilla, who advocates for not being cruel to humans in the tone of someone who supports free range cows.

Kenzie is a Lasombra who flirts with redemption all the time, but has yet to find anyone who can actually convince her it'll be worthwhile. She plays with her food.

i'm almost lazy enough for "which runaways would my characters be" (casey = chase, kurt = gertrude, quinn = molly) but let's just give them some bs-y superpowers.

CASEY: his mutant power is washboard abs. he follows magneto~~'s booty~~ and eventually repents. i don't actually know, okay, don't judge me. he is probably a boring normie human. or he's a shapeshifter but never realized because he's so comfortable in his own body that he never thought to change it. like. sure, he could shapeshift into abs instead of working for them, but then who would see him at the gym working out??? nobody. he might as well be a hermit.

KURT: non-human healing powers. he can heal animals. then they can communicate and they form a bond. he has a small army of faithful healed animals but he calls it his "fellowship" and would never ask them to fight. the "fellowship" is a democracy.
NAME: open for suggestions bc idk. i shouldn't be allowed to name things because i would go for "doolittle." maybe i'll take what quinn named him after mud-wrestling and go for "savage" because it's ironic because he's a total pacifist.

QUINN: quinn has iceman's power (cold and ice manipulation). she lives under the radar and plays on a professional hockey team in scandinavia, maybe sweden. life is good. she never uses her powers when playing until she uses them to save a teammate from drowning while practising on a lake. she's stripped of any titles won and banned henceforth from professional leagues on the grounds of the fact that she could have used her powers to gain advantage, even though she never did or will. disgraced, she returns to canada. while visiting jesse in buffalo (assuming he's not dead) and drowning her sorrows in terrible beer, she's approached by someone from xavier's school for kick-ass kids. she takes over phys ed.

i just meant in the convo a few days ago about hating fish and chimps and shit, there were some ANTI-WHALE people. WEIRDOS.

and yes. i'm getting george & gracie from the voyage home. which really just means, i'm getting two humpback whales. i was only gonna get one until i realized i could work a ~subtle~ ref to one of my favourite movies of all time so why tf not (so 1 whale became 2). aaaaaand because in the vein of ~why tf not,~ those are going on the outside of my forearm, at the same time i'll be getting a small/subtle bowl of petunias on the inside of my bicep. (yes i know it was a sperm whale in h2g2 but guess how many fucks i give? NONE. NONE FUCKS.)
