Would you guys be interested in the mods facilitating some actually anonymous connections at the dance? Rather than relying on RNG, the idea we have goes as follows:
The player submits to a screened post a short description of their character at the dance that does not give away their identity. For instance: "A smirking girl with elaborate hair is leaning against the wall, drinking punch. You haven't seen her dance with anyone all night, even though she clearly came dressed to impress."
When the dance is posted, we'll scatter these openers throughout the IC/OOC with the mod account. We'll reply to your screened post letting you know where your starter ended up.
Wait for people to respond to your character, and then reply with your own journal as normal to begin a scene.
Your submitted characters can otherwise post as normal wherever and however they want before and after their anonymous encounters.
