MEME: Dog Breeds

My favourite game to play at the bar is "What breed of dog would you be?" where I determine what breed of dog my friends would be based on my comprehensive and pointless knowledge of everything canine. Real people are not enough and I'm mad with power, so I want to do this for your characters! And, like, other people can also give input. I guess.

Yes, this meme is completely self-indulgent.

Fill out the form and I'll tell you what kind of dog I think they would be if they were a dog! WIN-WIN. (I'll post an example with Kurt.) Disclaimer: Most of these will probably be bigger dog breeds because they're what I know best. Sorry not sorry for the bias, big dogs are the bomb.

Social Disposition: AGGRESSIVE. At best, he's friendly-aggressive; at worst, he's angry-aggressive. When he's upset or annoyed, he's moody-aggressive. Reads a challenge in anything that's said to him. Always ready to fight. Social animal, not shy, likes to talk and flirt with people, but will only ever let his guard down around two or three people.
Independence: Intensely independent. Now he plays Chaser, which is the most teamwork-heavy position in Quidditch, so Sy understands and values the importance of teamwork, but emotionally he sees having to rely on anyone else as a weakness. And Sy's massive glaring weakness is how codependent he and Rosy are. Alex's "anchor tied to another anchor" metaphor is depressingly apt.
Loyalty: Sy does he wants and doesn't care what other people think. He thinks fucking with other people is amusing, even if you're ostensibly his friend. If people have to get hurt for Sy to get what he wants, then so be it. He's a shitty friend, frankly. That said, if you're his sister or brother, Sy will literally kill for you. No joke, if Rosy asked him to, Sy would commit murder and go to wizard jail and not regret it.
New Situations: Loves new challenges. Make it into a competition and Sy will do almost anything. Very impulsive, very bad at thinking about the consequences.
Energy/Play: Has a ton of energy, always very active. He's not hyper, but Sy usually seems restless and has a hard time maintaining his focus for anything that isn't physical activity, e.g. sports. Being banned from his various clubs has been tough for him; he needs a lot of outlets. The last REALLY GOOD outlet he had was mud wrestling, to give an idea of how Sy likes to "shake it off." Very physical, "playfully" punches and shoves his friends a lot.
Fears: Sy is most afraid of turning into his parents, i.e. becoming shallow and status-obsessed, and hurting his loved ones because he only cares about himself. He's responded to this by rebelling hard against the expectations on him and... slowly turning into his parents anyway? :c
Environment: PLAYING QUIDDITCH. Otherwise, being outdoors, competing, doing something fast or dangerous.
Mantra: You're the best, or you're nothing.

I could say that Sy is an Akita, just like Rosy. BUT THAT'S THE EASY WAY OUT, AND I'M DETERMINED TO NOT REPEAT ANY RESPONSES!!! LET'S DO THIS!!!!!



Sy is a poorly-trained Belgian Malinois!
- They are medium-large but so frickin' strong — often used as police and military dogs.
- A Malinois has excess energy for much longer than most dog breeds, and only 'mellows' to a Very Very High energy level.
- Its prey drive (the instinct that makes dogs stop at nothing to get that fucking squirrel) can be dangerously high, especially if not trained properly from a young age.
- It is very reward-driven, but not necessarily food or praise.
- One would only bring a Malinois to the dog park if it was EXTREMELY well-trained, otherwise it's going to be a dominant, aggressive prick.
- Do not fuck with its pack.

I would also like to get Too Meta and suggest that Sy and Rosy are Akita/Malinois mixes, but Rosy exhibits more Akita features and Sy exhibits more Malinois features. Here are some alleged dogs of that mix:
